I just feel like Apple did the bare minimum to update iPad, which is an incredible piece of tech that just gets ignored often. They should work in some type of integration that can run macOS applications on iPadOS, that way it will just be the definitive machine for me.
We are slowly starting to see heavier apps show up on the platform. ZBrush, for example, is an (apparently) popular 3D modeling app that will be launching on iPadOS this year.
Unfortunately, my Thunderbolt dock doesn’t support 120 hz output, so I can’t test if it’s driving the display any faster. I suspect it’s still 60 hz. I messed around with Stage Manager, no changes that I’ve seen. I tested if I can play two audio sources at the same time, and that is still not a thing. The Files app did add an option for more compact spacing for icon and list view, but that’s all I’ve found so far.
I’m not thrilled with this updates …..they are just mere improvements not worth getting excited for. Was expecting grand breaking features especially for the iPad Pro Mseries but I guess they will continue to pay rent in my head since Apple don’t care much. Just another big iOS update on a big screen….BabyOS! And how come calculator becomes a feature worth celebrating for now, even with the support of Apple Pencil….its absurd!
We’ll see how impactful the Apple Intelligence stuff is. Since they’ve decided to limit it to M-series iPads, presumably at least some of the features are computationally expensive.
Have you tried to scroll with the Mx Mouse ? It seems they improved the initial scrolling. Now it doesn't have that "accumulated acceleration" at the begginining. Overall it's a better scrolling experience not a magic mouse one but acceptable for daily usage
Oh things I won’t use. And as I said, on another reviewers video, how they can flog this as a machine for professional designers, artist and creators when you have absolutely no control over the contrast or colour of the screen is beyond me. Even the most basicwindow base computer allows you to change that in the settings. And don’t even get me started on the fact that there’s no equalizer! Lol.
Hi there , currently I’m using iPad 10 generation. I still wondering should I upgrade os17.5.1 cos currently my version is on 17.4.1 . After upgraded 17.5.1 would I get the new reminder updates for os18 ¿

Thanks! Like to have seen the integration of Calendar and Reminders!
Sorry I missed that….that would have been good to show. I’ll be sure to show it in a future video.
@@SlatePad Thanks! Only one reviewer I’ve watched did touch on it, briefly.
I think the tinting will be better if you adjust the opacity to just give a small tint to match the background
I hope they make some adjustments throughout the beta cycle
Thank you for the video, it was really in depth.
I appreciate you watching!
great video! been looking for an exclusive video about iPadOS 18 and I found this! thank you!
Thanks for watching!
As a college lecturer the math notes gonna make my life much better
I wish I had something like this when I was in school

I think the Apple Intelligence work consumed a lot of resources across the company.
A calculator and features that have been on Samsung and Google devices for years.
Great video guide, buddy. I’m going to test the public beta when it comes out.
Thanks!
Calculator needed dedicated slide over/hot corner support to be worth the wait
That’s what I would’ve preferred to see
“You can go Crazy with this” LOL ☠😂
Somebody has to haha
Thank you! Nice overview 👍😊
Thank you for watching!
Thanks, i am curious to see the new compact mode for list on Files app. Feeling more Finder for Files App, i hope.
It kind of does feel that way, a little
I have the new 13” 1TB M4 iPad Pro. I’m begging for its full power to be utilized.
We are slowly starting to see heavier apps show up on the platform. ZBrush, for example, is an (apparently) popular 3D modeling app that will be launching on iPadOS this year.
try connecting to an external monitor and does it support 120hz on it? What are the improvements for Stage Manager? Especially the files apps

Sad no eye tracking test

The scrolling feels maybe a little better, but still jankier than I’d like. Certainly usable though.
Can you make a video trying the eye tracking feature?
I’m working on a follow up video, so if it’s in this beta, I’ll cover it.

Ooooo….I would love a system wide equalizer
Thanks for the video. I will not ipdate my m1 ipad pro to this for nothing
Thanks for watching!
Hows the battery and all was thinking of installing it but i know how notorious beta 1 s are
There’s a decent battery hit so far, but that’s pretty common for the early betas.
smart script feature available on this beta? because i don't mine supports this feature (iPad Air 2020)
Seems like it’s trying to work, but maybe needs to analyze of my handwriting. It’s not working like the demo in the keynote for me yet.
I have iPadOS 18 beta 1 on my iPad 10
How do you like it so far?
@@SlatePad it’s good bit buggy but it’s the 1st beta it’s to be expected
@@CSXEK Agreed. It could be a lot worse
Light mode? Seriously?
I’m actually the only person I know not in dark mode permanently 😁

The upgrade to 17.5 and 17.5.1 has been pretty good for me, and yes you would get notified at some point in the fall when iPadOS 18 is available.
Perhaps you should watch the tutorial before making a tutorial that’s incorrect
I like your profile pic!
Ipad 10th generation support ??
It will receive the update, but not any of the Apple Intelligence features.
Is there stand by mode or Contact Posters?
No sign of either so far 🫤
How does i get this
I believe the public beta should be out in July
Lol whenever you buy a new apple product you expect changes and updates 🤦
It will be interesting to see if any small features trickle in with subsequent beta releases.
i pad people M4 great for calculator app .
I’m just glad people will be able to stop complaining about not having a calculator!
How 😳
The developer beta!
worthless update wow a calculator just like the weather should have been added years ago glad i returned the new m4 ipad
Who ask?
Nobody needs to be asked I said what I said
Then why u bought it in first place
@@umangchaudhary8230 assuming apple would make a update taking advantage of the power it 🤷♂️🤦
cry much?
