Thank you for this beach walk all the way to the Hyatt Residency. I grew up on Maui but haven't been back since '85. We used to go to the beach south of Black Rock. Some of my family worked at Royal Lahaina and other restaurants (The Wet Noodle on the golf course). My father designed the swan pond and another smaller pond at the Hyatt Regency in the early 80s. Seeing it brought tears to my eyes (he's been gone since '06) and so many memories of swimming under the waterfall, playing on the beach. Good times brah. Mahalo and Aloha for raising awareness for my West Maui ohana and the food line. I used to go to the Baptist Church that was distributing food and lived on Ilikahi St. The people at that little church were living out true love in the community back then too. So grateful for the aloha spirit. Maui No Ka Oi.

We always go to Royal Lahaina resort aBig tower, I just love the beach there, And every night we are at Kanapalli Beach, walking takes only five minutes from Royal Lahaina or Eldorado, my second place to be there at Maui. We came back home two months ago, and I was impressed how much it was done with a renovation of restaurants, and stores and resorts, and airport….love Maui.

    Aloha Eric,
Enjoying your channel the past month, Mahalo for keeping those of us who love Maui updated on what’s happening there. 34 years ago I met my future wife when we were 15 yrs old, as my 50th birthday arrives this week we are finally planning our first trip back which we hope will be around New Years. We’re fortunate to travel and visit many spots but we keep fo big back to Maui, no better spot than the West side.

We took that walk (but starting further north at Papakea) many times, but before all the newer development. As a matter of fact I have some scenic shots taken on that walk with construction crane masts way in the background. Airport beach was virtually empty in those days.

Thanks for showing us some of the public parking areas. We have used the underground parking by the Sheraton but there are only a few spots. Parking in the garage by the mall isn't bad if you buy something while walking through. Thanks also for showing us how we can walk the entire ocean front. You are doing a great job.

    Hey Eric,
Rob from Ottawa again. That’s in Canada.
Thanks for another fun video. Brought back lots of memories for my wife and I. Our favourite is The Hula Grill. There used to be this really chill performer who would finish his songs by saying A-loooow-ha! Man he was good. The Mai Tai’s and sand beach “floor” was automatic relaxation... We are hooked on your videos. A-loooooooow-ha!

I jog through the public access by the Sheraton and Kaanapali Beach Hotel to the beach walk to where you finished, then go through the canoe club and along the parks, then along a narrow slice next to the road to Front Street then on to the Safeway at Lahaina.

Great to see Maui opening back up. Fingers crossed they will let Canadians across the border to HI soon. Had a TERRIBLE dinner at Castaways once but Java Jazz, next to the Times Supermarket was absolutely outstanding. From breakfast at 6am to live music and amazing food in the evening it is a place I will hopefully go back to. Stay safe.

That was a fun live stream. I have always wanted to do the entire length of the beach walk but only made it from the Kaanapali Shores to the Royal Lahaina Resort. I have also done the other end from the beach park at the south end of Kaanapali to the Sheraton when hanging out for Lunch at the Hula Grill. This is the only time I have seen the entire walk from end to end. Awesome! I am getting excited for a future trip in 2021. You only got busted twice on your one wheeler. Not to bad, brah.

I think the Hyatt restaurant was called The Swan Court. Best Lobster Tail ever. I told a friend going to Maui go order it. He did and flipped out. He goes into the kitchen and said Where did you get your lobster. They said New Zealand. Thanks for the great memory. When I come back I'll look you up. Maybe next time I'll stay'. Aloha.

You called it Hyatt even though you pointed out Starbucks and the pirate ship. What's up Eric, can you tell me where you picked up this awesome light blue Hurley "Aloha" hat you're wearing in this video and others? I'm assuming you got it at the Hurley store on Front St? Can't find it online or on the mainland. Probably we'll have to pick one up on our next trip. Thanks for these videos!

Thanks for the beach walk. We have been to Maui a few times via ship once, via plane to Marriott Maui Beach Club when we were married at Secret Cove (Makena) and then another time at Kaanapali Beach Club when we traded our points in our timeshare. Have walked the walk many times but not to the extent that you filmed so thanks if we ever get back. Interesting point too that Kaanapali Beach Club used to be Embassy Suites.

I love that walk. I do it every time I'm in Hawaii. I walk it to the Whaler's Village. What is the name of that great bakery in Makawao? Also went to the church services at Whaler's Village.
