- The Z needed a new fuel pump, so we put a new one in it.
Only took about 15-20 minutes to access, remove, and replace the old pump. Ran a quick test with new pump in before we put everything back together completely.
Really easy job, only used 3 tools: 8mm socket, phillips screwdriver, flat head screwdriver.
Thanks for your continued support!

Thanks for the video going to change mine over the weekend
Thanks, man, you just saved me hundreds of dollars.
Great video!!! Just changed the fuel pump on my z and only took 25 minutes.
Glad it helped!
Nice job !!! 😎👍👍👍
Yea did mine today under 30 mins the pinch and pull what was a little hard but got it. Car sounds better honestly i think my old pump was at its last days
Pinch twist pull..thx Bro!!
Hey Guys!! THANKS FOR THE INFO!!! I'm considering buying a "Z" and having to change the fuel pump. This video helps with my decision
did you get it
@@TyBrezzy11 no Z for me.
@@MiguelFlores-jp1ss damn
Really need to change mine!😭 my baby has those symptoms and today she didn’t wanna turn on!! But she always gets me home!!🤍 awesome video guys! Thank you!!
Yep me too lol
Nice!
Where did you purchase your replacement.
Anyone know where the fuel temp sensor exactly is I can’t find any info on it
Gave me back like 15hp from the old 125k fuel pump. Acceleration at 50-120 is fuckin QUICK
Good not bad
link to the part?
I know this is old but what were your symptoms? I got new camshaft sensors for driver and passenger, crankshaft sensor under the car by the slave cylinder, regrounded everything, new MAF sensor, new z1 cold air intake replacing my short ram, new 02 sensors, no exhaust leaks, and new spark plugs. But my car does this thing where I’m driving and if I accelerate hard it cuts power and then returns. It idles perfect but then when I go it jerks super bad and it looks like I’m first learning how to drive a manual again. It’s super embarrassing. I’m out of ideas. Side note, I did use Lucas fuel injection cleaner and it was perfect for 2 weeks, and after I fueled up a few times the problem returned. It only happens on long drives as well I go out of town for work like an hour to and back so 2 hours total but my car has time to rest in between so the engine is cold when I go home. I feel like this is fuel related. I hope I made sense, if anybody has questions I’ll reply nearly immediately. Thank you!
ImTheCakesters Initially it was only the lagging acceleration. Pressing the throttle and then it felt like it would cut off or choke a little. It did idle fine for a while until it was at its worst, then it would die at red lights. It made a huge difference after we replaced it. It’s still going strong. Let me know how yours feels after you replace it.
Joe Flo Nice! Okay man thank you so much for the help and the video. Have a great one man. I’ll be sure to come back and let everyone know. Where did you get your fuel pump btw? Is there a link you can provide?
We just ordered it online, but it wasn’t oem. It was a cheap one surprisingly.
yo i am have the same problem in my Z when accelerating it loses power between 1-3k rpm and after its perfectly fine. best way to explain it... feels like it lags when accelerating.. were you able to find out what it was?
Are you getting any codes?
Old video but I hope someone can answer. Does a bad fuel pump cause my fuse to blow? Pin/fuse (77) . Fuse constly blows when driving.. If not pump going to change MAFS and Crank Sensors..
Nick Medina it could. Is your car throwing any codes?
@@JoeFloCreates negative it is not throwing any codes. Its not making any noises or leaking anything. No lack in power or anything. Ill be driving an it stalls due to ecm fuse blowing. Trying to figure if its cause of bad wire or part.
Is this a reason my car would stall ?? I also have a 350 I changed my battery and sensors and my alternator is good
This could cause it.
Joe Flo thanks I replaced it and it fixed my problem, honestly and advice to everyone learn how to fix things in ur car and fix it or else you’re gonna spend hella at the mechanics
Why would you want to replace the fuel pump? Does it help with the car power, start up etc?
Shawn It was having a hard time starting.
@@JoeFloCreates mine is starting to hesitate to start. New plugs, coils and alternator and battery is only a year old so I think my fuel pump is going out but what about HR models that have 2 fuel pumps?
After doing this gas started leaking from the bottom of the Z going to open it up tomorrow. Turn it on seemed fine drove around the block a few times parked it and then reved it when I got out to continue my day realized it had leaked a lot of gas. Anyone know what May have happened?
Screws or o-ring to the fuel hat isn’t tighten down all the way or sealed. Make sure the screws are tight (not to tight) and the o-ring is in place
I bought the same one as you, and when I turned on the car, there's a constant hissing sound that's pretty loud that's coming from it. Is that normal with this pump? ... I'm not having any problems with it, actually runs better than the old OEM one, just the hissing sound.
That doesn’t sound normal. This one doesn’t hiss. I’ll double check in a few too.
@@JoeFloCreates in the video I can pick up the same hissing sound , sounds alike
At 8:08 when the car gets turned on, the hissing sound comes on too. Some people online say that's normal with aftermarket high pressure fuel pumps , just wanted to make sure someone else had it too. I mean my car runs perfectly fine
@@L.u.c.i.f.e.r... any problems after?
@@TyBrezzy11 nope, no problems whatsoever.
Hey guys I’m having trouble with a high pitch noise coming from the rear of my 350z. Does anyone know anything? It’s just started today
From inside the cab or your rear diff?
My car just cranks and some days it starts could the fuel pump be bad?
might be a censor
I'm attempting it and I can't pull off the tubing part I did the clip twist and pull, but it won't come off...
Hope you got it! it's not the easiest part and could be harder if there's more build up/dirtiness around it.
@@JoeFloCreates I got it, but I got another issue the 8mm bolts out of the 6 only 3 tighten and the other 3 keeps spinning looks like I striped the bolt or even the hole at the moment I just order the replacement bolts hopefully its just the bolts striped not the hole.
can some one PLEASE answer this question for me.
why won't my fuel pump sit flush inside of my tank? I took it out to replace it and when I went to put the new and old one back in, neither would fully compress into the tank so that I could screw them down.
If I remember correctly, I want to say it was a little spring loaded and needed to be pressed down and secured with the bracket.
@@JoeFloCreates you are correct about that but when I go to push it down, its not flush at all. it has about an inch of space to where I can't screw it back down. as if the pump is too long.
@@KeeRexx95 if the one you pulled is doing the same thing, have you checked to see if there’s something under them in your tank?
@@JoeFloCreates yea there's nothing blocking them. I even thought it could have been the return line but that wasn't in the way either. I could feel the pump rubbing the bottom of the tank and all.
@@JoeFloCreates yes I have and there's nothing blocking it. I could feel the bottom of the pump rubbing the tank
I did this now my car is leaking fuel when I leave I on for like 5 minutes it’s leaks from the top and bottom of the car
Brandon Pastrana Did you make sure the o-ring was good? Did any of your fuel lines look old and brittle?
Joe Flo I’m pretty sure the o ring is good but 2 bolts were really hard to put in so I left it with only 4 instead of 6 could it be that ?
If it were that I don’t understand why it would leak from the bottom of the car and it leaks a lot
What problem did it have, mine doesn't stall but has trouble starting, it turns over before cranking and I have to repeat until it cracks, already changed camshaft sensors but that wasn't it
*Edit: tested the pump to see if gas was sent before it cranked the pump seemed to work just fine so it wasn't that either, help?!?! Lol
Did you figure it out? My 2004 350z will occasionally not start. No other symptoms; no lagging acceleration, no staling, no shutting down; just occasionally it will not start, but then suddenly it will after 1, 5, 6, 7 or more attempts. Fuel pump? I hear it every time I turn the key, so who I'm probably going to put in a new pump but I'm not sure that is the actual problem. Anyway, thanks for whatever info you may have.
ground wiring
@@svoncampe Did you look into the NATS system? Does your security light on dash stay on sometimes with just the ignition on? I was told when light is solid the car won't start, if turns off with retry it will start.
DJake Groove yeah I realized a while ago that it had to be the ignition system. I haven’t experienced any problems for quite some time but I have never experienced any other problems associated with a failing fuel pump. So far so good.
@@svoncampe so was it your ignition or the fuel pump the problem?
update..push twist pull..lol
So its not pinch twist pull?
On my 350z the problem that I have is it won’t give the exact level of fuel goes up and down like yesterday I full my tank and only marks 1/2 of tank
I think the float is located on the other side (behind other seat) depending where you are, either besides passenger or driver seat, pull it out make sure its working fine or replace it. It's a float which tells the guage where the fuel level is
I got mine replaced but check engine light on and no throttle response 🫠
