- Step by step video on how to remove and replace or modify your fuel pump on a 350Z!
A few things to watch out for when doing this is the rubber grommet for the fuel pump make sure not to break that, also be careful when removing the wires not to break anything.
Depending on the fuel pump you are putting in your 350Z you may find that there are some slight changes you will need to do to fit things correctly, in this video I am using a Walbro 450lph fuel pump.

This video helped a ton!
Great video bud! however why din't you make a connector for it? in future if you plan to replace the pump you'll have to redo the wiring and solder back etc
Thanks mate! I thought about it but at the time I didn't have any matching connectors and I needed to get the fuel pump back in the car. If I tear it back out again I for sure will go that route!
@@bradybuildz5632 Sounds good bud! yea i did that as well, i fitted an AEM pump back then and couldnt find the male connector for it so i had them sliced and used a new connector for it.
Hey man do you have or can make a video on how to change to the coolant sensor . And if I do, do I have to drain the system?
This video is missing the most important part, drilling out the regulator and the jet-pump. Do not skip this step, read the CJ-motorsports PDF!
What happens if you don’t do that step bro?
Checked it out and maybe you can tell me what size drill bit is equivalent to .070? Or 1.78 mm? Kind of useless info for drilling it all out when there's no drillbit sizes for the modification.
@@reneguevara9127 you will run very rich at idle, car may die or just have a terrible idle that will be a pain to track down.
Can you link me to a video if you know of one

Do you not need to modify the siphon/Venturi tank system for it to work properly with the new pump?
The pump is only hold by the rubber?
All of them are? First time?
Great video. What fuel pump did you use?
do a walbro 450 lph on a 370z please
What year z is this?
2006
I wanna add a 255walbro but is there anything i need to do before i get installing it i have plenumspacer, coldair intake, testpipes would it be safe to installing it on to my car, how much lph does stock have?
changing the fuel pump will do nothing to change your car unless you increase injectors and a tune to make use of that pump
If I'm going with a Walbro 255 Lph pump, would I need a tune or would the car run as normal? I've searched around and others are saying I'd have to drill a bigger hole in the siphon jet and others say I would need a tune.
You're gonna want to do both, drill the hole but also as a rule of thumb any time you mess with fuel pumo or Injector size changes get a tune to ensure your car runs properly
good video mna thanks
Happy to help! Thanks for the support🤙🏼
Hey dude, rocking the same walbro 450 pump on my 350z, im having a problem where the pump is bottoming out in the tank as if the pumps too big…did you run into this?
Hey man, did you cut off one of the barbs from the pump? Brand new there's 3, and you have to cut one off. Here's a link to a forum that has a good step by step for the 450: my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/583428-e85-diy-walbro-485-with-e-flex-haltech.html
Yes man I got the same pump and it too big a need a solution
Why do you have to cut off the plug off the new fuel pump ?
I didn't have matching plug so I had to cut both sides and solder them together
Is the brand walboro?
Yeah, in this video is the Walboro 450
I put a 320 in mine and had to grind diwn the clip pieces on the lower basket how did you get this to snap together
I had to make an adaptation to the section that holds the fuel pump, shorten that little basket and then a hose clamp is used to keep the pump in place instead of reusing that bottom clip
@@bradybuildz5632 i was about ask how is the fuel pump held in place of the missing bottom clip. what do you mean you shorten the little basket? Did you also leave the stock FPR in place or did you drill it?
@@accordfreak1 the basket which holds the fuel pump in place, I ended up have to trim that back. Then use a hose clamp to keep it in place instead of the end clip. The FRP I ended up drilling slightly larger. In hindsight I should create a part two to this explaining the special changes needed if going to a much bigger fuel pump. I had to make some changes to this setup a couple times before I fully got it right
Brady Buildz that would be another good video! I needed a new fuel pump as mine got weak but I went with another oem cuz I didn’t know what else I might need to do if I had upgraded :/ would still be interested though
@@wpafreddy I gotta pull my fuel stuff back out again here soon anyway, I could film the adaptations for sure
Does anyone know how to take off the sensor only?
I have the same question, the “black piece”.. is the temperature sensor and I wondering if can replace it.
What’s the purpose of that fuel pump
The bigger fuel pump is to simply pump more fuel. The car this went in is a built motor and turbod 350z, the stock fuel pump won't push enough fuel 🤙🏼
Brady Buildz nice. I don’t know why my car mella like gas so much from the pipes
I wish you had of done a close up of the bench test connections. Can't see shit.
Great video. What fuel pump did you use?
The fuel pump in the video is the Walbro 450
