I flew economy class from Toronto to Amsterdam in July 2023 and the service was pretty damn good. I had a tent with my for a festival, and when I went to get that checked, they checked my carry on for free both ways. On the flight to Amsterdam, the person next to me had a tea on their tray, and the person in front reclined their seat, causing the tea to spill all over us. We got upgraded to economy comfort for free. I had a whole row to myself so I used the seats as a bed and took a nice nap. I'll definitely fly with them again.

I booked a very cheap flight with KLM all the way from Munich to Jakarta and Bangkok to Munich with stopover in Amsterdam in August this year. I booked it some days ago and it was much cheaper than Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa or Thai Airways, but was in the same price range as Etihad Airways. But with Etihad you will have a long stopover in Abu Dhabi, that’s why the choice was KLM

If you ever find yourself booking this flight check the business class prices. Prices can vary quite a lot on different days but in terms of C class travel they can be something of a bargain. Also from a future booking I have on this flight other looks as if 787-10s will be operating some services.

I fly KLM regularly and generally, it’s not bad. I do chose economy plus - exit row can be nice… but also cold and you can’t have a bag under the seat. KLM’s service and comfort have both declined over the years, but the same can be said for every other airline. They are still one of the better ones.

@@comfytravels I am vegan and I always pre-order the meal as such andI have always had excellent food that way! I have seen a few travellers suggest doing that even if you don’t have dietary needs since you usually get better food that way.

I flew KLM numbers of times btw JFK & AMS, I m totally agreed with you, KLM 's economy class meals were sucks! but Air france is a different story, it 's far better than KLM for some reason , although they are the same group , nice review, I love the scene of boarding via stairs on the ramp where you can truly feel the aircraft!!

My experience was just the opposite. I prefer the friendly and helpful KLM crews . Air France long haul eco - best avoided. The A350 had 10 across seating with the corresponding slimmest aisles . Totally packed and claustrophobic . ...Fortunately I was traveling in their Premium eco. In addition AF needs to encourage more Hospitality from their Crews

Hey there, Josephine! Thanks for watching. That’s a hard one! My choice really depends on where I’m travelling to and what the purpose of the trip is (as that typically determines the cabin I travel in).
I tend to choose the fastest route, so if I can fly direct, and the price is reasonable, I’ll probably avoid connections. That being said, in Economy Class, I tend to find that Middle Eastern carriers like Qatar Airways have very good hard and soft products. Especially food, which in my opinion, is one of the biggest drivers of passenger satisfaction in Economy.

@@comfytravels Whenever you´ll fly eco-class its more or less a torture. If you fly business class or first, China Aislines, Tha or Singapure airlines just a nice experience. Another bad one is United first class to Hawaii. Large seats, and the typical american food ... steak ect.
Did you need to pay extra for luggage? I know KLM charge 80 quid now.
Thanks for watching! It depends on the Economy fare - Light fares are cheaper but only include cabin bag. Mine was standard and it did cost about £40 more one-way, which matches what you say for a return. It might cost more than that if you buy it as an add-on 😊

Cabin Crew in KLM are very nice, the food they serve is terrible tho😅.
They should definitely invest more in better catering - although I admit I don’t travel with them often, so it might be better depending on the route (and caterer). Thanks for watching! 😊✈️

KLM are not good because no aperitif service, no bread, no cheese or crackers after meal etc. They fall behind many and Air France is so much better in comparison. I am mystified as to why they are partners when KLM lacks so much in comparison.

Flew KLM for years and 9/10 we get cheese and crackers and bread after a meal, it will depend on your destination and origin.
@@8TONY7 maybe you flew premium economy. There is definitely no cheese or crackers anymore after the dessert in exonomy and no more aperitif service. Air France rocks in comparison
