- Hey, guys. In today's video, I'm going to be doing my 9-year-old daughter's nails! OMG! HOW COOL IS THAT? So, yeah. Today we've got Cassidy on the show and she's very excited to be here.
First of all, I'm gonna prep the nails and you a method of how to do them on a child that is completely safe and easy to do. Cassidy absolutely loves nails. She's always getting me to buy her stick on nails and she's actually very good at putting them on.
However, today we are going to prep her nail ready for me to do a custom design of her choosing. We are going to make these nails so she can actually re-use them and she is going to stick them on herself!

For those who are being negative about this video, the nails stayed on for a matter of two hours before they started to pop off. This is not dangerous or damaging. The nail is shined not filed or buffed, they are not dehydrated or primed, no base coat is used and they are ft slightly thicker than normal at the cuticle so they come off in one piece. They can then be stuck back on as normal stick on nails are, just these will have a better fit. It's nearly all explained in the video. I guess some people skipped large parts or just commented because of the title.

I don’t see anything different with this than when a mother paints her daughters nail for the first time with polish. This is a beautiful bonding experience between a mother and her daughter. Thank you for sharing this with us. Anyone who says anything negative about this needs to get bent!

I was this age when my mum got me acrylics lol! It never damaged my nail bed. She also was very strict if I had them, I must care and keep them clean and it taught me good hygiene.

Job well done! I normally don't comment on your videos because I'm not a nail technician and feel I have nothing to add. Today, however, I have something to add. I think you are being so good with your daughters. You spend time with them, take care of them, and you know what, I think the way you are raising them really shows. I've seen the two girls together in videos before and they are so kind. They are imaginative, bright young ladies. Good job! I wish you could give parenting advice to other parents. When I was 13 I asked my mum to get me stuff to do my own nails. She got me press on nails and when I was 14, after a lot of begging she got me my first acrylic kit lol. I did her nails and mine horribly the first few times but over the years I learnt as she patiently let me practise on her.

I’m now 13 and I use the glue ons cuz they are wayyyy cheaper but I got my first acrylics when I was 11 and I’ve had them a few times but I like the glue ons cuz they last a week for me and they are $9 for a pack and you don’t have to wait forever just for cute nails also they come off when I want no struggle (I only get the acrylics for special occasions now)

I have followed Kirsty for years and used to do my daughters when she was 9 but made her nails in a training hand and used glue dots so she could wear them again and again .. until she was at least 16 . They never damaged her nails and she loved the pamper session . It made her more aware of keeping her nails nice and stopped her biting her nails . Well done Kirsty on showing how resonible you are not to do proper nails and having the one to one withyour gorgeous daughter... as for haters ignore them to many people think they know best . .. xx

At first glance at the title I thought... No, she's a great nail tech she would never... I thought this not just because of the age but of the breakage risk, chemicals exposure risk and How injury can occur when nails break. But I got my head out of my own parental ass and read the description before viewing. It was here that I was like oh ok, that's a good idea and what a great way to give young girls that are tween age the chance at this salon experience with no damage....and they are reusable!! Then I watched and said this is a great bonding method for moms and daughters. Then i thought she should offer this as a mommy and tween bond spa package service. Young tween girls can get custom play nails done while mom gets her grown lady nails done.
The thought i originally had was wrong of me, but this is how you check yourself when jumping to conclusions or attempting to make a judgement that's unfounded and negative. You research, look beyond the cover (title) and actually read the book before just judging the cover. Thank you for this video that put me back in my place.

I really hope the haters haven’t dissuaded you from posting the second part to this video. As a nail tech, I’ve found this video extremely helpful. It has given me an option to give to parents who come in demanding nails for their child (which I refuse FYI and have lost clients over). This is a safe alternative and a great selling feature is letting them know that they have a reusable finished product; no need for costly and constant infills! Thank you for sharing

@@saysikerightnow6300 some artists deny doing kids nails bc (like Kristy says in the video) little kids have tender and weak natural nails bc they arent fully grown up their nails aren't as strong as grown ups are. And like Kristy said if you use the same nails as you do on adults, for kids then it could damage the childs nails also bc of the glue you would need to use, what if the child tosses and turns in their sleep or they accidentally jam their finger on a table or something( I do that a lot when I have nails and it hurts like heck) it could tear off the childs real nail and it'll expose the skin under the nails which is even more sensitive, at least with this technique you can do a child's nails and it wont hurt them if the fake nail falls off or is jammed

How adorable!! I started getting acrylic nails when I was super young, my mom didn't care and there weren't all these weird rules about nails and age back then. In my 40s now nail tech myself still very healthy nails and started doing my three daughters nails pretty young too. My girls started wearing nails probably around nine, ten years old, they're all much older now still perfectly healthy nails. Not sure why people get their panties up in a bunch, it's not dangerous.

I am all for letting girls wear make up, get henna, do their hair, express themselves through the way they dress, etc.. She wanted them to the one and kirsty kept saying no that she would only do 3/4 but Kassidys persistence won out and she got the one. Good on you girl. They are adorable. Good job Kristy.

Anyone who could pass negative judgement on you for giving your own daughter custom made reusable nails obviously never fully watched this video. You gave plenty of disclosures and instructions on how to safety do a child‘s nails without any damage to them. Absolutely loved watching you and Cassidy having a bit of mother/daughter bonding time while learning a bit myself. She’s precious and has such a wonderful bubbly personality that anyone can see that you’re obviously beaming proud of her. Can’t wait to see the designs...!

I used the kiss acrylic kit for less than $10 and got pretty good results myself

I started doing acrylic at 15 - if you go that route to screw the system, don’t buy the cheap chinese monomers. It’s dangerous and actually illegal in the U.K. (I don’t know what country you’re in). (Doing as in actually learning acrylic)

I was very dubious when I read the title, but this is a really great way to safely make a set of custom nails for a kid. This way she won't hurt her nails, and the nails can be repainted without her getting fumes or absorbing chemicals through her nail bed. Great idea!
This is so wholesome. When she took off the forms my cold black heart melted... It made me so happy. That joy over pretty nails is something I still feel. Child me would be so happy if she could see the nails I have today.

I love this, I think it is really natural for a child to want to copy their parents and this is a really nice way for Cassidy to experience what her mom does and has in a very childproof way. She can were them on Sunday and take them of the next day. It is just a bit of fun and playing around. It is beautiful to see this mother-daughter moment 💕
