💅🏾10 Year Old Attempts Her Own Nails Using Acrygel💅🏾

- Hi everyone
It’s Cassidy and I’m going to be doing my own nails using Acrygel 😜
I’m going to start by removing my nail polish. I’m then going to prep my cuticles and file the edge of my nail. I’m then going to buff the top of my nails with a soft buffer and wipe over with Gel Residue Wipe Off Solution. I them applied my base coat before my nail forms.
I’ll apply my gel and sculpt the nail out. This was very stressful so we tried a different technique. I used a dual form to shape the nail in, then put the nail on my finger, cure the nail and then remove the form. I got mum to take over and file the nails into shape. 🙊
I’m using a Lilac Buds on the thumb, Little Lilac on the middle finger, Piggy in the Middle on the pinky finger and Fair Maiden on the pointer finger. Do two coats of each. 💅🏾
For the stones, I’m using acrygel to apply the stones onto each finger and finishing off with cuticle oil.
So, that’s it. I love my nails that I totally did myself - well, I helped.

That’s so cool! when I was younger my mom would do my nails she’s not a professional so she would usually just do one color (with regular polish) and sometimes an accent nail. Now I’m 11 and I started doing nails on myself still with regular polish during quarantine. My mom bought me some rhinestones, brushes and some more nail polish so I can do more things with my nails. Right now I’m wearing my best nails yet with 3D roses I made myself with dried nail polish. Doing my nails has became a hobby and someday I plan to do acrylic, poly gel, tips and all that stuff! It’s amazing that u learned how to do acrylic at only 5!!! That’s so impressive! (Sorry for my rant 😅)

Love this video!! Okay so I’m a child development major and this is awesome. This is like watching my lessons in real time! Scaffolding and zone of Proximal development!! Basically Kirsty is the framework for Cass’s learning, giving her direction and encouragement when she needs it. And Cass is doing something that challenges her but that she can still do with some help! UGH I love when I can apply my learning. Makes me feel like I ACTUALLY know something 😭😭. (Sorry for the school lesson, I was just so excited.)

It is so lovely how encouraging and nonjudgmental you are! Polygel on sculpting forms is hard, I would have had a total fit and cried about not being able to do it right. Her doing such a challenging task on camera says so much about how valuable Cassidy believes she is and that difficult tasks are worth while. Statistically girls have a hard time doing new things, boys usually throw themselves at anything they can. It is theorized that girls are hesitant to do new/challenging things for fear of failure. Trial and error is only viewed as an error in many girls minds. It is most likely a socially constructed barrier that we have created and perpetuate through how we are raise our children. It is so beautiful to see Cassidy view herself as a strong and capable young lady! Says a lot about how you parent your kiddos.
