      Oh boy, does it give me PTSD. I always remember my first visit to the dentist with a cavity - I was still naive and believed the doc when she said that I could do it without local anesthesia. Sure, I could do it. With tears in my eyes and fear of this drilling sound. It's been years since, and I'm still not over it.

      Yeah the sound sets off my PTSD also. I do my nails at home and my equipment sounds more like a vibrator lol! I haven't been able to really afford a dentist in the last 28 years or so. I only go once a tooth gets so loose it can be pulled without being numbed since the "numb" actually causes me pain. I've pulled a few of my teeth myself. Major PTSD.

    Well, I'm feeling kinda proud of my last acrylic removal on myself! I did it exactly the same as this video, except I used a metal cuticle pusher scrape off the acrylic rather than a hybrid spatula. I did have to do a second soak, however, because I wasn't quite patient enough.
    I can't hardly wait to see what kind of fantasy nails Faye is going to ask Kirsty to sculpt! She's very demanding and picky, but her nails always turn out spectacularly beautiful.

  • @teooooooooo4779

    Fun fact, it doesn’t matter what side the aluminum is, as it’s only has one shiny and matte side due to the factory needing to double up the aluminum. No side heats up quicker than the other unfortunately. People debate this all the time, but in the end it doesn’t matter which side lol

    • @jillyhoward4920
      @jillyhoward4920 5 лет назад +39

      Absolutely right. I learnt this from a cookery class it doesn't matter which way the aluminium foil goes it's only a manufacturing thing that makes one side dull and the other shiny.

    • @estheticianhere2875
      @estheticianhere2875 5 лет назад +3

      Noodle Spoodle um, you’re never supposed to cook on the shinny side of foil! The shinny side can possibly come off in your food.

    • @sparkybish
      @sparkybish 5 лет назад +39

      Makeup Loving Mommy when you cook does it dissolve aluminum? That’s the only way the shiny side would come off on your food, as it is all aluminum, and not a coating.

    • @eileenmarie1652
      @eileenmarie1652 5 лет назад +25

    Not sure where to ask you this but I think you would be one of the best people to do it.... It would be really helpful if you built 3 nails small medium and long... and then cut them right down the center so we can get a side view of the structure... You can explain it time and time again but I need to see it to really get the thickness down... I always end up on the thicker side because I don't want to have them break .. if you could do a video like that... You'd be my hero

      I think a straight square shape would suit small hands well :). I say this because I have big hands with pretty wide fingers, and almond shaped gives me a slimming effect. So I think either oval, squoval, or just plain square would look nice (something even throughout with no point)

    It’s the “all naturals” out there that say our nails need to breath, I’ve had nails on for Thirty Five years, I do them myself and my natural nail is just fine, never had a problem, ever. I love them and wear them long a tiny bit shorter than Fays nails and yes you need a good size apex to pull them off and live a normal life, without breakage. I’ve tried wearing a low apex and almost immediately they break. Anyone who wears them long like us needs healthy apex. I see these long nails on instagram and they’re so thin but then I realize it’s just for the picture it couldn’t work in real life. Cleaning and etc. I also work on cars so that can be a bit challenging at times. But hey live your best life.

    My nails have always been super thin and brittle. I get them to the length I want and they snap the next day! I recently turned to gel and it has saved my nails fro breaking multiple times!! I love it, and my nails have gotten nice and long and remain undamaged!

    • @WhoisKell
      @WhoisKell 5 лет назад

      Jessie Whelchel your nails will ne thin and brittle after you get the gel removed. I am halfway in process of growing them off/removing them. My natural nails are strong and long. Yet some now are thinnand brittle.

    I saw something like a mythbusters/how its made type thing where the question was does the shiney side cook faster etc. The programme showed that it is due to the manufacturing process .... one side runs along the conveyor belts etc, the other side doesnt, and neither side is more efficient at its job of 'foiling'... Just FYI! =D xxxx

    I started having acrylic extensions about 18 yrs ago, my nails were awful before then as I am a hairdresser and being in and out of water all the time and having contact with hair products, chemicals etc my nails had become extremely weak and damaged, they just kept peeling an splitting all the time. My natural nails are now strong an healthy and my hypernicium is extended like fayes too.
    I've started having my nails done a little longer recently, to about a 3 and the only thing I struggle with is the push button flush on the loo and the button to empty the Dyson cylinder, so I use my knuckle instead!!

    • @jenninstitches
      @jenninstitches 5 лет назад +1

      The loo button is the worst! Everything else I've found a small tool for, but there isn't exactly something I can carry around in my pocket for that scenario.

    In hairstyling if you put the shiny side of the foil on the outside it will help hold the heat in when doing foils. If you put the dull side on the outside it will cool down and stop the process faster.
