- Elliotte Friedman reported that the New Jersey Devils' search for a new head coach is taking longer than expected. Todd McLellan is said to be a potential candidate for the Devils. He has previously coached the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks. He's been in the league for a while, but he might not be the best fit.

Whoever the coach may be , this team needs a goalie gritty forward and and gritty D man
Why shouldn't the Devils be taking their time in making the right hire? The only two coaches who have been hired so far are Lindy and Green. Sure Toronto is a big market and could be almost as or maybe slightly more enticing than NJ, but other than them what the Kings, Jets, Kraken or the Sharks? I mean maybe the Kings could be close to as good of an option but if yall are worried about the Sharks snatching our desired coach from under us you're delusional.
So I doubt that the Canes are gonna part ways with Brind'Amour, the Pens fire Sullivan or Colorado fires Bednar but there is a chance one of those happens and if we rush to hire the first person we interview then we'd be missing out on the best available coach just so we can say a week or two earlier hey we hired someone.. For what reason do we need the coach hired as soon as possible? It's not like we're a week out from training camp or even the draft yet.
This move right now is really going to determine whether Fitzgerald keeps his job I think. He already has a reputation in the fans eyes that he waits too long to do something. This is going to be his last straw for a lot of people.
I really hope we can get a goalie bc technically that’s the first thing we should have then build around them!

Only two coaches i want are Berube or Woodcroft. Keefe no thanks dude fails to make it to the second round every year. Atleast Woodcroft and Berube both made it to the third round once. Fitzy is so clueless tho. He still waiting to see what Pitts does with Sully cuz thats his only move, now that Rod the bod might be gone he will focus on him even tho Rod the bod stinks again cant get over the hump of ECF. In the End Sully is not going anywhere until next year if Pitts stinks. Devils need a new GM, Fitzy has too big of an ego and just let him be president so he can veto anything that makes sense cuz he love his analytic that why he took so long to make a goalie move they told him they were fine. Madigan would do a better job then fitzy. i just dont have faith in Fitzy.
