Devils Are Interested in 2019 Stanley Cup Champion Craig Berube; Travis Green is Off to Ottawa

The job search for a new head coach continues. Yesterday, it was revealed that Travis Green will become the next head coach for the Ottawa Senators. This means that the New Jersey Devils will find a completely new voice behind the bench. Reports are saying that the Devils have had "extensive talks" with Craig Berube. He coached the 2019 Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues. That might be an ideal fit for New Jersey.

I wanted Berube to be hired since I think he is a type of coach this teams needs… However, when I dived deeper into his coaching career, I don’t think he would be a great fit. I don’t think he’s the coach you want for a young team. He plays veterans and play style of hockey not really the way Devils team is constructed now. If possible, Sullivan would be a perfect coach for these devils. He is the best match style-wise, experienced with not heavy team, but fast and skilled. Good structured defense , SC … love to see that…

If Carolina lose in 2nd round I wonder if they change the coach too… I know, it’s unthinkable, but I’d love to see Brind’Amour as devil’s coach 😅
