😶‍🌫I wish they would have asked Chief how he felt about getting traded back to Phili (well, "sold" is probably a better word, since if I remember correctly Washington got cash for him). After being away from Phili almost 10 years, was he glad to be "back home" (for lack of a better term)?
I remember when Chief got traded from Toronto, I was not happy... happy to be getting Gilmour but I often wondered how awesome it would have been if the Leafs had of gotten Gilmour and kept Berube... That would have been some awesome hockey to watch!

We would have won back to back Cups in St Louis if not for Covid. We fired Berube not because he is a bad coach. Everyone From the owner to General Manager & most of the players still Love him. Our Stanley Cup window just closed. He cannot take young players & develop a cup team. But he will let you know where the problems lie. You have enough talent in Toronto but it will take a few changes that Berube wants. Get ready to play heavy & Forecheck but most importantly you have to Backcheck. No skating around waiting for the Puck, You have to take it. Good luck Toronto. Berube will Never Ever be forgotten here in St Louis. Cant wait until you come to town. It will be one of longest Standing Ovations ever Heard.

I think he would love a 5 mil per year, seven year contract with the Leaf's. For sure he'd tell Tribbles right up front that they DO NOT have the players who can win 16 games post season but heck he'd take the contract for sure. Ottawa probably offered 2.5 mil per for 3 years. Listening to the way he talks and the way Tribbles talks, I think these guys would be kindred spirits. They seem to have similar attitudes and styles. Both are old school blue collar straight talking guys, as is Brendon come to think of it. Match made in heaven. But give it 2 years to clear Tavaras and Marner off the books one way or another. A fire sale or backing J.T. and M.M. into a corner with their NTC's will not get them closer to the cup. Brendon eluded to the time for patience is over. Sorry Shanny, impossible to get rid of two 11mil contracts and change an offensive finesse team into a grinding playoff team overnight.
