Ragnar Sims All of them are creatures. You can’t pray to creatures, but you can ask for their intercession since they are still a member of the body of christ. We do this all the time with living people when we ask them to pray for our behalf. The dead don’t stop becoming Christians, so that’s why we can still ask them to pray for us.

I am Catholic my whole life, and I've never heard a thing about praying to saints or Mary, we don't do that. We ask saints or Mary to pray for us but never pray directly to them.
That’s the problem there your giving them power that only God himself possess. Only God can hear prayers Mathew 6:6 nowhere in the Bible do you read that Jesus says to do that.
@@micah5277 The saints don’t hear our prayers directly, they hear them because of their union with God and His Spirit. The Old Testament story in Daniel 2 involving Joseph and his interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream is one example. If God can reveal knowledge of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to Daniel, then surely he can reveal to the saints in heaven the interior prayer requests of Christians on earth. You seem to be trying to limit what God can do, just because it doesn't seem possible to you, or you just choose to not want to believe it.

This isn’t an accurate depiction of what Catholics believe. We don’t believe the pope is always infallible. The pope can put forward a teaching that is infallible, it happens rarely. Catholics don’t pray to saints, we pray with the saints or ask the saints to pray for us. I didn’t listen to the whole video, because I started realizing that the facts were skewed. There could be more. So for non- Catholics looking for accurate information about the Catholic Church look elsewhere.
In terms of what you say 'prayers with the saints' unfortunately Roman Catholics pray to the saints not asking for their intercession, for example, the Prayer to the Virgin Mary or called Hail Holy Queen, it says, “Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To THEE do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to THEE do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, THINE eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O MERCIFUL, O LOVING, O SWEET VIRGIN MARY! Amen.” Hmmm. Joshua Tuazon it’s odd that you know that whole prayer but you can’t interpret it. The prayers specifically asks Mary to show us her blessed son. What better way to reach Jesus than to ask his Mother first.

hey . i just had a few questions about Christianity and i was hoping anyone give me logical answers to them..... please!!! ,may god reward you for guiding me to the truth.... i am just so curious how do you guys believe in a book whose oldest manuscript came 400 years after Jesús died? if anyone looked for the manuscripts that the bible was written from will know for sure that they were all different from each other... each manuscript told something different from the other.. that's why you have so many versions of the bible. how do you overcome the fact that all these different versions cant be ALL the words of god, let alone that each of them hasn't been once mistranslated when they were translated from aramic to Hebrew to Greek to English LET ALONE that any of these versions actually came from manuscripts that date to the days of Jesús? but they all came AT LEAST 400 years after him... how can someone come 400 years after the death of jesus and tell you to worship him and you accept that? so if i told you there was a guy living in 1600 who was the son of god, so you should worship him, will you believe me? thats exactly what you did with the bible! you don't know who wrote the bible! you don't know who told you to worship jesus with god! all the manuscripts that talk about the trinity never appeared until the 15th century !! how do you overcome all that?? even when you read the bible , how can you accept to worship a god that dies? that rests? that wakes up? for me god never dies ,nor wakes up, nor sleeps nor any of that.... how do you overcome the fact, that Christianity appeared during the roman empire who used to worship Zeus and say that he had a son named Hercules who saved the world. have you never thought that maybe from the 1st century to the 15 century people slowly got affected by that culture and started saying that jesus is the son of god and that he will save the world? while truly jesus was only another messenger like abraham , noah and others who came to tell you to worship only one god? when you see all these bible problems and realize that there is another book that is the same as it was 1400 years ago (earliest manuscripts match with what we have today), that never talks about trinity but confirms that jesus was only a messenger and told us to worship one god? how does all this not spark anything in your mind??

Matthew portrays Jesus as the King and Messiah - he focuses on what Jesus said. Mark shows Jesus as the Servant of God and he simply speaks of what Jesus did. Luke shares Jesus as the Son of Man and therefore has much to say about what Jesus felt. And finally, John presents Jesus as the Son of God giving emphasis to who Jesus was. Why does the four gospels do not agree on the defination of jesus christ. Which one should we belive.if it is something so crucial the message should be clear so we have no excuse to the lord.
I agree but I am catholic. We do not worship Mary but we ask to pray for us. For example I ask for you to pray for my anxiety. Btw. I also ask Jesus for help too.

Many today will fight and defend their denomination but few will defend the word of God. We are Christian first before we are Catholics, Protestants, Baptists etc. If you're church does not put Jesus first, if it doesn't praise Jesus first, if it doesn't teach us to let go of our previous selves and lead holy lives in the presence of the Holy Spirit, it is not a true church of God. No man or woman takes precedence over God, he is Sovereign and we are his servants. Choose a church that teaches the true gospel, taught by Jesus and revealed in the word. Discern the teachings of any man whether it be your pastor or the pope or whoever. We are Christians first!!!!
True, but people do not get to choose a church of their choice. Christ built/established His church (Matt. 16:18/Acts 2/Rom.16:16) Christ built His church, scripture shows the true pattern and His church that we must be ADDED to by God. Only when we obey the true gospel of Christ. Not doctrines of men (1 Cor. 1:10) division is sin/separation from God.
Believe means to obey (JN 3:36) The only way to obey Jesus' command of John 6:53, and participate in the One and Only New Covenant between God and man (LK 22:20) is to be fully Catholic, and attend and participate in Catholic mass.
@@rmmodiba thank you for that wonderful comment. Grace is through our Lord Jesus Christ alone. We must be the Salt and Light of this world and be Christ like, reflect ourselves as Christ. I see everywhere, christians bickering over denominations and forgetting the real message of Christ, the real meaning, the true purpose. This really brings bad witness before the non-believers. And it's really difficult to tell non-believers regarding the denominations and the fight over it.

Mary was FULLY human, and now is fully DEAD and cannot hear you. She was a sinner like all humans since Adam and Eve. She is NOT the mother of God. She was selected to carry in her womb the human incarnation of God which was Jesus. Jesus was fully God and fully man. The perfect substitute for mankind’s sin. Mary was only human. PERIOD. She needed the salvation of Jesus like any regular man. #9 You need to clarify the statement on the pope being infallible. He is not infallible on everything he says. He’s only infallible when speaking for the universal church on dogma related to faith and morals. That’s it. Nothing more.

I am a born RC but I could not accept the pope as head of the church when I know Lord Jesus Christ died for me. From here on i moved away not realising I was recrucifying Christ, for the sake of man made tradition. I found God at Tabor ashram, a retreat center in Mumbai, India. My son was ill and we received many healings and blessings and miracles. First message i received is a scripture to meditate on, "God is Spirit and you should worship God in Spirit and in Truth". Hereafter, I learnt the Bible and began to seek and Thank God. I believe in Mother Mary, mother of my Lord and the Bible says about her "ALL generations will call me blessed". All she tells us is, "Listen to Him". And Jesus said "follow Me" I believe in the prophets and apostles but i don't pray to thousands of saints of the RC church. The Bible says Jesus is the Light, the Way and the Truth. He is our only mediator. I have come to understand like Peter said "you are the Son of the Living God" and Thomas on seeing Jesus believed and called Jesus, "My Lord and my God". I feel uneasy about santa and easter eggs. It's like mocking God making a joke of His Gift to all mankind on His birth and on His death and resurrection. I feel Isaiah 53, we ALL like sheep have gone astray, each his own way. Coming to our death i don't believe in puguatory. I believe after we die Jesus will judge us, second life or second death. I also believe just as Jesus is merciful, He will also be a just judge and i have to beg for mercy and forgiveness whilst I'm still breathing. I am sure the devil will want us to believe you only live once but Jesus always started his message with Repent and Believe. As long as we worship the true one God.

When Martin Luther broke off, it became a free-for-all with many groups claiming to belong to the right Church (Calvinists, Lutherans, Anabaptists, etc). Fast forward five hundred years, now there are over 30,000 Protestant denominations each claiming to be the right one. It seems absurd to say that it took thousands of years for humanity to make the perfect Church. Why not stick with the one Christ gave us?

In the video, they have someone reading the Bible and then he tosses the Bible on the table as if Catholics are throwing the Bible away. The Catholic Church put the Bible together! We have no reason to toss the Bible aside as if it didn't matter. (172) 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌸🌸🌸🌺🌺🌺 سورة المائدة Surah chapter 5 وَإِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَـٰعِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِى وَأُمِّىَ إِلَـٰهَيْنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِحَقٍّ ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلْتُهُۥ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُۥ ۚ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِى وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ مَا فِى نَفْسِكَ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّـٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ (١١٦) And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.(116) مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرْتَنِى بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ (١١٧) I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.(117) إِن تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ ۖ وَإِن تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ (١١٨) If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."(118) قَالَ ٱللَّهُ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنفَعُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۚ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ (١١٩) Allah will say, "This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness." For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment. (119) لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌۢ (١٢٠) To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is within them. Jesus also said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." He did not mean that he is a physical road that you walk on or you have to pass through his physical body to get to God. He was talking about his metaphorical path of righteousness and that in order to get to the Father you have to follow Jesus's example I believe that the bread and wine was to teach his followers that no matter what happens he will be there for them even if hat is not in physical flesh.

In other words, what is the offense to His flesh and blood if the bread and wine are just symbols? 1 Cor 11:23-25 "For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread, and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, 'THIS IS MY BODY that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, 'This cup IS the new covenant in MY BLOOD. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.'" @@gerardoelguezabal1836 sorry for the late reply, I was quite busy today In 1 Cor 11:29 what he means is that anyone who eats or drinks (living your day to day lives) without discerning the body (remembering Jesus and following his example), eats and drinks judgment on themselves (those who choose not to follow Jesus utimately bring suffering upon themselves) Also in John 63 he says "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit and life." (Accepting Jesus is about spiritual and mental understanding, not physical. His words (teachings and morals) are more important than what you eat or drink in communion. Arguing over such small details is a waste of time, rather we should be focused on Jesus and what we can do to become more like him Ultimately Jesus died for our sins and that's what should be important to us

As for the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians, in verse 24 he repeats the same words Jesus said to His disciples "this IS my body" and in verse 25 he says "this IS my blood." If you want Jesus to tell you this, check Luke 22:19-20. Jesus NEVER says "this represents." Also, you are the VERY first evangelical I've ever met that considers salvation a small detail. In the last scripture that you provide (St. John) you forgot the chapter.
Actually Doug, we DO pray to her. The origins of the word 'Pray' simply means 'To Ask'. We have to be careful not to buy into the 'Protestant' practise of reserving the word 'Pray' as referring ONLY to God. Obviously when we pray to Jesus and Mary we 'ask' different things. We ask Mary to add her prayers to ours, we don't ask her for forgiveness etc. That is for God alone.

I disagree that we should focus on our similarities. We differ on the most fundamental issue: salvation. The Roman Catholic church has anathematised the gospel. There needs to be a dialogue on these significant differences.

Did he lead the Roman armies in the Gallic wars, defeat Pompey in a civil war and govern the Roman republic as a dictator until his assassination in 44BC? The New Testament is the most well attested ancient document in history. There is nothing that even remotely compares to it. The historic attestation relating to Caesar in no way compares to that of Jesus Christ. Any serious scholar (theistic or atheistic) will tell you that Jesus indeed was a 1st Century, Aramaic-speaking rabbi who was crucified by the Romans, died, and after his tomb was found empty, there were many sightings of Him throughout the region, which atheistic historians have to explain with ‘Mass Hallucinations’ and the ‘Swoon Theory’ because they have an anti-supernatural bias. The evidence clearly points to a risen and resurrected Christ. Look into it.

I was born Catholic… my family are not that religious but I always went to Catholic schools in the era of my home because the curriculum was more challenging than the public schools. That being said Protestantism sounds more like what I have been following my whole life without even realizing it.

Praying for intercession is a extremely popular doctrine taught within the church that plenty of saints and popes swear by working. You pray for Marys intercession so that you may get help in order to gain a closer realtionship with her Son Jesus.

That is so not true. Yes, we listen to our Pastor, but he also encourages to read the scriptures for ourselves. The only Churches that are problematic would be Progressives, LDS, Jehovah's Witnesses, and churches that emphasize tongues like crazy.
We listen to our Pastors as we’d listen to anyone who speaks intelligently and knows the Bible well. The difference between Pastors and Priests is that we know to research ourselves and use our Pastors for guidance, whereas Catholics take the Priests and Pope for 100% fact and do not research to see if they agree with them, or form their own Biblical thoughts. Protestantism promotes knowledge through debate, whereas Catholicism promotes knowledge through obedience.
@@directorjames1855 Protestants rely on the interpretations of the scriptures. Here lies the problem, since each Pastor may interpret it as he will and this results in different interpretations and then in case of conflicting beliefs, which further leads to multiple denominations. Catholics dont have this problem since they trust the teachings of the early church fathers and other doctors of the church who have researched and established everything for later generations to follow.
@@viodsa Then what comes when the Catholic Church is wrong? Debating against them is considered heresy. In Protestantism, everyone studies the Bible themselves and we listen to different people for interpretations, and we debate and study to see which one is most likely correct. Not only Pastors study the Bible, all Protestants are told to do so. We read it daily, at least we’re supposed to. I do, but I can’t speak for everyone, obviously there will be less interested people. By having everyone openly discuss what they think certain verses and chapters mean and how they relate to our lives today, we can more easily combat the incorrect interpretations and find better ones, should we have interpreted something incorrectly.

@Sabir Bless you, my brother. I lost my father when I was young. When I became a young man with a family, I prayed constantly through the day. I talked to Allah often about my life, what I was suffering, what I lacked, the wisdom I needed. As I communed with Him, and as I prayed and cried, I could feel his presence with me, his love with me, He would speak to my spirit. He was helping someone who had no father, no mentor, no vision. He was being a father to me. I developed a relationship with Him as a son who trusts his father for wisdom, protection, love, supplying all my needs, being my mentor, teaching me how to be a father. I understand how much children need a father, not just as a life giver, (father means life giver) but as a constant protector and guide. Also as provider and teacher, as nurturer and best friend, and so much more. My children are parents now. You never stop being a parent, and you never stop needing the wisdom and comfort of a father. That's all I meant by that. Peace, my friend.

Yes you do because the Catholic Church compiled the books of the bible that you read today. Except, for seven books that the Protestants removed about 300 years after Martin Luther's heresy. So you don't have a complete bible. Catholics do. Even Martin Luther would say That today’s Protestant “Bible” is incomplete!
That is actually incorrect. The original cannon of The Bible from the council of nacia did not include the Apocrypha. The Apocrypha was added hundreds of years later by the Catholic Church. Therefore we just returned it to its original condition. The reason is because the books that are there are not inspired words of God. They are Jewish texts and the Jews do not include them in their holy scriptures either and never had. That is the major reason they were never put in the 1st place.

Every doctrine of the Catholic Church is found in the Bible, if only implicitly and indirectly by deduction. For example, you will not find the word Trinity in the Bible. There is ONE TRUTH. But among Protestants, there are THOUSANDS of "TRUTHS". Every Protestant believes THEY have the TRUTH based upon their understanding of "the Bible", but they themselves disagree with each other on almost EVERY doctrine from Baptism to Justification. (١٧١) O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs. (171) لَّن يَسْتَنكِفَ ٱلْمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبْدًا لِّلَّهِ وَلَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ۚ وَمَن يَسْتَنكِفْ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيَسْتَكْبِرْ فَسَيَحْشُرُهُمْ إِلَيْهِ جَمِيعًا. (١٧٢) Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah, nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together. Thanks for the vid! Catholics don't believe the Pope is always infallible. He is a human being just like everyone else. He can sin, make mistakes etc. The infallibility doctrine is often poorly understood and is only invoked rarely and on very important issues in the church.

Then thanks mostly to Saint-Paul gentiles converted to Christianity and with time they ended up out populating the Jewish Christians. Today you'd be hard pressed to find a Jewish Catholic, or even a Catholic with Jewish roots originating from that time period.

Ragnar Sims just like Shakespeare would use the term “pray”, it’s to simply ask. In the case of saints, it doesn’t end with the saints, it ends with God. Think of asking a friend to pray for you. Same concept, and since the saints are also alive according to Jesus, and are in complete communion with God, it makes it much more reasonable to ask for the prayers of the saints. Not to say prayers here on earth are useless, it leads us closer to God!

Tyler, I get ya, but I gotta disagree. Differences in belief are a natural and even moral part of humanity. While I'm sure there are plenty of jerks here, one need only extrapolate their message while leaving their morals. It's kinda like the "coexist" bumper stickers. Those with philosophies and beliefs that are non compatible will have to sacrifice who they are, what they believe in order to fulfill your request. I'm not trying to be a dick, and I apologize if I come off as one. I do love to see people working together towards a greater good, but I also see debate, even confrontational debate, as a toolset for reaching greater good. Take myself for example, I haven't believed in a religion since around 2000. I sit somewhere between agnostic and atheist. But the love of Jesus is very important to me, I prefer Christian friends for the most part, I'd prefer to live in a nation of Christians if given a choice. I dislike Islam even though I know there are good Muslims. I have Muslim friends who far exceed some Christians when it comes to morality. But my main point is that Jesus was a confrontational debater who liked to argue. It's one of the reasons he's one of my heroes. From the priests of Egypt and his own mother when he was just a boy to his own disciples right up to his death. They and I are, following in an example provided by Christ, but one thing that's certain about men, we fail no matter how hard we try, we are going to fail a lot. At least these arguers are putting for an effort in the eternal weighing and labeling of ideas, even a bad example is a good example to learn from my friend. :)
According to John, however in another book he also told a rich man to follow the Torah and that was sufficient. He made no mention of his name or of any future collection of books to be followed he merely told the man to be faithful to the lord and follow his commandments. Christians limit Gods reach. Like ants who try to guide the sun. Do you truly believe Jesus or the Lord no longer appear to people in various forms to this day. Did God not appear as a burning bush, yet we make no insistence on praying to bushes. You think God made billions of stars and billions of animals etc. and is only capable of one book. If you don’t see how you are arrogant in thinking you can decide what God wishes from or says to others who can help you. Be certain God speaks to you as you know he does and leave others to there connection. He appears in so many forms to so many people everyday there are so many messages heard in thought and dream and from the musings of strangers that will guide people to redemption. Don’t be so haughty to speak for God as if he has nothing else to say or no other way of connecting. What you understand is excellent for you but leave it to those that seek your council and to yourself lest you think God needs you to intervene in his plan others. If you were called to say so then I rejoice but it is still only one way that the Lord calls us. If you truly have faith you understand that Jesus said that others would do greater works, which may well include plenty of new messages for those that require them. Keep the fire of your faith in the crucible of your heart do not let the heat of your faith escape needlessly let your love for him be a secret love which agonizes you with adoration. Don’t pour your light on those who God has set aside there own path for them. And if you think there is but one right way. Neither the Protestant interpretation nor the Catholic one agrees for the Protestants make each man a priest unto himself and the Catholics change there religion according to the dictates of the church neither is singular.
I grew up both in the Catholic Church with my father’s side and the Baptist Church(branch of the Protestant church) with my mother’s side. I am in the same situation. I grew up being exposed to two religions but by comparing and contrasting both, I have learned that being a non-denominational Baptist follows the bible more accurately. I don't have hate for other religions, but some Catholic Church teachings are not found or contrary to what the Bible scripture messages are.

The life of Jesus is described in the Christian gospels. These are detailed accounts of his birth,life, death and resurrection by those who were with him. In John 2, Jesus performs his first public miracle at the urging of his mother. And with it “… his disciples believed in him.” That is the heart of any Marian devotion, it is to get closer to Jesus through Mary. Any Catholic who places Mary as a deity or above Christ is gravely misguided.

That wasn't biased at all... Just a few inaccuracies about the Catholic Church: 1) we don't believe the Pope is infallible most of the time, only in very specific circumstances (I think twice in 2000 years). Jesus is the head of the Church and the Pope is like the Prime Minister serving his King. 2) Catholics don't need to pray to the saints as implied, but can and do speak directly with God. 3) Tradition antecedes Scripture, which wasn't compiled until the 300s. 4) Mary needed a Savior as much as us. God chose to give her that grace from the moment of her conception.

The saints don’t hear our prayers directly, they hear them because of their union with God and His Spirit.
The Old Testament story in Daniel 2 involving Joseph and his interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream is one example. If God can reveal knowledge of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to Daniel, then surely he can reveal to the saints in heaven the interior prayer requests of Christians on earth.
You seem to be trying to limit what God can do, just because it doesn't seem possible to you, or you just choose to not want to believe it.

i am just so curious how do you guys believe in a book whose oldest manuscript came 400 years after Jesús died? if anyone looked for the manuscripts that the bible was written from will know for sure that they were all different from each other... each manuscript told something different from the other.. that's why you have so many versions of the bible. how do you overcome the fact that all these different versions cant be ALL the words of god, let alone that each of them hasn't been once mistranslated when they were translated from aramic to Hebrew to Greek to English LET ALONE that any of these versions actually came from manuscripts that date to the days of Jesús? but they all came AT LEAST 400 years after him...

Mark shows Jesus as the Servant of God and he simply speaks of what Jesus did.

True, but people do not get to choose a church of their choice. Christ built/established His church (Matt. 16:18/Acts 2/Rom.16:16) Christ built His church, scripture shows the true pattern and His church that we must be ADDED to by God. Only when we obey the true gospel of Christ. Not doctrines of men (1 Cor. 1:10) division is sin/separation from God.

As a catholic, i can tell you got alot of stuff wrong. Particularly with regard to Mary, priests, and our regard for Scripture. You however explained the perception of Saints in a fair way.

I am a born RC but I could not accept the pope as head of the church when I know Lord Jesus Christ died for me.
From here on i moved away not realising I was recrucifying Christ, for the sake of man made tradition.
I found God at Tabor ashram, a retreat center in Mumbai, India. My son was ill and we received many healings and blessings and miracles. First message i received is a scripture to meditate on, "God is Spirit and you should worship God in Spirit and in Truth". Hereafter, I learnt the Bible and began to seek and Thank God.
I believe in Mother Mary, mother of my Lord and the Bible says about her "ALL generations will call me blessed". All she tells us is, "Listen to Him". And Jesus said "follow Me"
I believe in the prophets and apostles but i don't pray to thousands of saints of the RC church. The Bible says Jesus is the Light, the Way and the Truth. He is our only mediator.
I have come to understand like Peter said "you are the Son of the Living God" and Thomas on seeing Jesus believed and called Jesus, "My Lord and my God".
I feel uneasy about santa and easter eggs. It's like mocking God making a joke of His Gift to all mankind on His birth and on His death and resurrection.
I feel Isaiah 53, we ALL like sheep have gone astray, each his own way.
Coming to our death i don't believe in puguatory. I believe after we die Jesus will judge us, second life or second death. I also believe just as Jesus is merciful, He will also be a just judge and i have to beg for mercy and forgiveness whilst I'm still breathing.

As Catholics, we believe the Church's purpose is to shepherd the faithful. When Martin Luther broke off, it became a free-for-all with many groups claiming to belong to the right Church (Calvinists, Lutherans, Anabaptists, etc). Fast forward five hundred years, now there are over 30,000 Protestant denominations each claiming to be the right one. It seems absurd to say that it took thousands of years for humanity to make the perfect Church. Why not stick with the one Christ gave us?

O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.(117)

Allah will say, "This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness." For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment.

Jesus also said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
He did not mean that he is a physical road that you walk on or you have to pass through his physical body to get to God.
He was talking about his metaphorical path of righteousness and that in order to get to the Father you have to follow Jesus's example
I believe that the bread and wine was to teach his followers that no matter what happens he will be there for them even if hat is not in physical flesh.

In 1 Cor 11:29 what he means is that anyone who eats or drinks (living your day to day lives) without discerning the body (remembering Jesus and following his example), eats and drinks judgment on themselves (those who choose not to follow Jesus utimately bring suffering upon themselves)
Also in John 63 he says "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit and life." (Accepting Jesus is about spiritual and mental understanding, not physical. His words (teachings and morals) are more important than what you eat or drink in communion. Arguing over such small details is a waste of time, rather we should be focused on Jesus and what we can do to become more like him
Ultimately Jesus died for our sins and that's what should be important to us

As for the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians, in verse 24 he repeats the same words Jesus said to His disciples "this IS my body" and in verse 25 he says "this IS my blood." If you want Jesus to tell you this, check Luke 22:19-20. Jesus NEVER says "this represents."

Actually Doug, we DO pray to her. The origins of the word 'Pray' simply means 'To Ask'. We have to be careful not to buy into the 'Protestant' practise of reserving the word 'Pray' as referring ONLY to God. Obviously when we pray to Jesus and Mary we 'ask' different things. We ask Mary to add her prayers to ours, we don't ask her for forgiveness etc. That is for God alone.

I disagree that we should focus on our similarities. We differ on the most fundamental issue: salvation. The Roman Catholic church has anathematised the gospel. There needs to be a dialogue on these significant differences.

The historic attestation relating to Caesar in no way compares to that of Jesus Christ. Any serious scholar (theistic or atheistic) will tell you that Jesus indeed was a 1st Century, Aramaic-speaking rabbi who was crucified by the Romans, died, and after his tomb was found empty, there were many sightings of Him throughout the region, which atheistic historians have to explain with ‘Mass Hallucinations’ and the ‘Swoon Theory’ because they have an anti-supernatural bias. The evidence clearly points to a risen and resurrected Christ. Look into it.

We listen to our Pastors as we’d listen to anyone who speaks intelligently and knows the Bible well. The difference between Pastors and Priests is that we know to research ourselves and use our Pastors for guidance, whereas Catholics take the Priests and Pope for 100% fact and do not research to see if they agree with them, or form their own Biblical thoughts. Protestantism promotes knowledge through debate, whereas Catholicism promotes knowledge through obedience.

Here lies the problem, since each Pastor may interpret it as he will and this results in different interpretations and then in case of conflicting beliefs, which further leads to multiple denominations. I do, but I can’t speak for everyone, obviously there will be less interested people. By having everyone openly discuss what they think certain verses and chapters mean and how they relate to our lives today, we can more easily combat the incorrect interpretations and find better ones, should we have interpreted something incorrectly.

I talked to Allah often about my life, what I was suffering, what I lacked, the wisdom I needed. As I communed with Him, and as I prayed and cried, I could feel his presence with me, his love with me, He would speak to my spirit. He was helping someone who had no father, no mentor, no vision. He was being a father to me. I developed a relationship with Him as a son who trusts his father for wisdom, protection, love, supplying all my needs, being my mentor, teaching me how to be a father. I understand how much children need a father, not just as a life giver, (father means life giver) but as a constant protector and guide. Also as provider and teacher, as nurturer and best friend, and so much more. My children are parents now. You never stop being a parent, and you never stop needing the wisdom and comfort of a father.

That is actually incorrect. The original cannon of The Bible from the council of nacia did not include the Apocrypha. The Apocrypha was added hundreds of years later by the Catholic Church. Therefore we just returned it to its original condition. The reason is because the books that are there are not inspired words of God. They are Jewish texts and the Jews do not include them in their holy scriptures either and never had. That is the major reason they were never put in the 1st place.

I feel like you portrayed the Protestant beliefs very accurately. However, I do want to clarify that the priesthood of the believer means that everyone has the authority, not only to interpret the Bible, but to teach it as well.

Then thanks mostly to Saint-Paul gentiles converted to Christianity and with time they ended up out populating the Jewish Christians. Verses (Q5:32-33) have been quoted to denounce killing, by using an abbreviated form such as, "If anyone slays a person, it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people".
Clearly the word person is used here.

Ragnar Sims just like Shakespeare would use the term “pray”, it’s to simply ask. In the case of saints, it doesn’t end with the saints, it ends with God. Think of asking a friend to pray for you. Same concept, and since the saints are also alive according to Jesus, and are in complete communion with God, it makes it much more reasonable to ask for the prayers of the saints. Not to say prayers here on earth are useless, it leads us closer to God!

O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah, nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together. (172)

And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.(116)

Tyler, I get ya, but I gotta disagree. Differences in belief are a natural and even moral part of humanity. While I'm sure there are plenty of jerks here, one need only extrapolate their message while leaving their morals.
It's kinda like the "coexist" bumper stickers. Those with philosophies and beliefs that are non compatible will have to sacrifice who they are, what they believe in order to fulfill your request. I'm not trying to be a dick, and I apologize if I come off as one. I do love to see people working together towards a greater good, but I also see debate, even confrontational debate, as a toolset for reaching greater good.
Take myself for example, I haven't believed in a religion since around 2000. I sit somewhere between agnostic and atheist. But the love of Jesus is very important to me, I prefer Christian friends for the most part, I'd prefer to live in a nation of Christians if given a choice. I dislike Islam even though I know there are good Muslims. I have Muslim friends who far exceed some Christians when it comes to morality.
But my main point is that Jesus was a confrontational debater who liked to argue. It's one of the reasons he's one of my heroes. From the priests of Egypt and his own mother when he was just a boy to his own disciples right up to his death. They and I are, following in an example provided by Christ, but one thing that's certain about men, we fail no matter how hard we try, we are going to fail a lot. At least these arguers are putting for an effort in the eternal weighing and labeling of ideas, even a bad example is a good example to learn from my friend. :)

I am in the same situation. I grew up being exposed to two religions but by comparing and contrasting both, I have learned that being a non-denominational Baptist follows the bible more accurately. I think you resumed pretty much the differences and comments here can add to the equation. I was raised Catholic and I did practice that faith until the Holy Spirit changed my life completely. Just a few inaccuracies about the Catholic Church: 1) we don't believe the Pope is infallible most of the time, only in very specific circumstances (I think twice in 2000 years). Jesus is the head of the Church and the Pope is like the Prime Minister serving his King. 2) Catholics don't need to pray to the saints as implied, but can and do speak directly with God. 3) Tradition antecedes Scripture, which wasn't compiled until the 300s. 4) Mary needed a Savior as much as us. God chose to give her that grace from the moment of her conception.
