Intake valve cleaning cost a lot if you take your car to the dealership, they have to disassemble the engine or if they have sand blaster to clean them, but either ways, the have to remove intake manifold to get access to the intake valves for direct and indirect engines, so it will take time and cost, in todays video i will show you how to clean it without removing anything
Even this is indirect injection engine, but still too much carbon buildup on the intake valve building up because, i drive the car aggressively sometime and the oil vapor passing from PCV valve to intake throttle
Seafoam: amzn.to/3208oWq
this is a very common problem with indirect fuel injectors, because the fuel injectors located on top of the piston meaning the fuel injectors no longer washing the intake valves
in this video i will show you How to clean intake valves on Direct/Indirect injection engines without REMOVING anything and i will show the process of intake valve cleaning without using special tool
problems with direct injection engines
1. Rough ruining
2. Hard starting
3. Poor fuel economy
4. Loss of power
5. Misfiring

How to clean intake valves on direct injection engines Авто/Мото
I wish I watched this amazing tutorial before I used the carb Cleaner on my rough idling engine last week. I sprayed through the throttle, black stuff came out, the engine was NOT running. I waited 15 minutes, then started the engine, was rough first minute, turned perfect after, I think I was lucky. The video instructions make more sense. Next time, thank you master Ali
Thanks for watching, I have so many videos how to use cleaners without damaging anything
Injector cleaning worked so now gonna try this method. Thx.
Every video must be so very addictive that I spent 2 full hours since I encountered this past night. 👍
Thanks haha, hope they are useful
Excellent demonstration with before and after pictures, nicely done!
Something else to consider when purchasing any Direct Injection vehicle is installing a "catch can" to prevent most of the carbon buildup on intake valves.
Thanks, already got the catch can, I showed on my last video, I will install it soon and show how it will keep the valves and piston clean
@@AliMECH i dont get it there is supposed to be no carbon build since multiport injection yet there is quite alot why?
carbon builds up in both MPI and GDI but with GDI it's far greater problem. It builds up on MPIs due to poor quality fuel, poor combustion or mixture etc. one of the main things is that the high compression of a GDI causes much higher cylinder head temperatures. The carbon not only applies in a greater volume but is then "baked" on. If you had GDI carbon buildup to the same amount of carbon on an MPI it would be much more treatable and more likely to dissolve in a safe way on MPI, Any cleaner or additive isn't going to go past the intake valve on GDI. The baking of carbon on GDIs can cause chunks of carbon to dislodge that are large enough to cause damage to the cylinder, valves, turbocharger or go through to the catalyst and burn up fierce. @@sansarkawt3351
Proof that these products can and do work to some degree!
Fantastic. Your tutorial helped me. My car used to be vibrating roughly when I used the air-condition for long times. After I followed your tutorial no more rough vibration. Engine running supper smooth. Running 6000+km and counting 😃😃
Great to hear! And thanks for your feedback
I love these kind of videos. Keep up the good work man :)
Thanks for watching
Hey! Tried your method today.
That is awesome and really working!
I bought a used car, no history about how previous owner used it. (My thoughts are home-shop/work-home)
It has a broken and clogged up PCV valve, which we changed.
But the engine still got a rattling noise.
It's gone now! It's working much quieter. I do believe that was gunk around valves and pistons which is gone by now!
So thanks to you a lot!
PS
By the way, came here after Scotty's of ChrisFix comment section. (Do not remember exactly)
Cheers from Russia, bro 👍
Thanks, glad that it worked for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Russian 🙏🏻🙏🏻

So you disconnect PCV valve and spray carb choke into PCV hose ? Not thru throttle body?
did you point the straw on each pair of valves per time?
Old mechanic used atf and we had excellent results
how
Thank You! Worked great!
Thank you so much for this video. It’s a great public service. I have f-150 3.5 ecoboost and trying to figure which port to spray the carb cleaner into.
Glad it was helpful!
SHO owner here. Did you figure out the right spot? Also considering this Haha
Your way is the best way 😊😊
Thanks
Excellent video. Thank you very much. Question please - Acura MDX 2007, LR2 2008, are they direct or indirect injection?
Very good job my friend to care your car good and use equipent safe always
Thanks Alex, I will
Good video; thanks !!
Glad you liked it!
Hi Alimech, very interesting video.may I ask why spray into the picture hose instead of the throttle intake? why you mentioned a check engine may come on?
Thanks a lot
Brother God bless you!! You made my life easy!! Must subscribe!!
Thanks brother, next video cleaning with water, stay tuned
@@AliMECH brother you are a genius!! ❤
Thanks man

Good job you are coming with good idea's but my advice to you is to be closer with the camera in each step the same way you are with your description 😊
Thank you again keep up the good work
Thanks, I'm close to camera, what u means exactly lol
Great job
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video, can I use seafoam instead through the pcv hose for my turbo gdi car?
Nice vid..How mileage interval often is valve cleaning can be done ?
Nice video work. 📹
Thank you
Great videos bro! Your comparisons help me out! I want to clean my intake valves but I have to do an oil change. Should I do an oil change before or after? & what do you think about doing an oil flush? Thanks I appreciate your help!
This method of cleaning with carb cleaner, no need for oil change or engine oil flush, I have another video were I cleaned the intake valves with water, u recommend oil change after that, but for carb cleaner, NO NEED TO
Thanks for enlightenment AliMECH....
What about like a 1972 350 engine, and a 1972 402 engine with Carburetors? Please Advise.
Damn if this will solve my poor fuel economy issues, I should buy 10 of these cleaners. Very cheap online. I just cleaned the throttle body and yes the air intake looked a whole lot worse.
Well, Katherine, I noticed a big difference with my car, if your engine valves are dirty, this is the best cleaning way
Great job
Where. S locition of pcv in camry 2011 2500cc??
You disconnect the top hose from the PCV then put the cleaner hose in? Xan this be done on a carburated car?
I'm going to do this one
Great ✌🙏🏻
Nice job, where would you suggest spraying the product on an R56 Cooper S Mini?
BMW f45 , I got many fri in Taiwan want to see how to clean the injector and valve , the most difficult is cleaning piston top area .Pls show more videos about BMW
interesting video...thumbs up! can you please suggest how to clean intake on toyota vitz(1KR-FE engine) process? thanks
Could I put this down the map sensor hole which is after throttle body ?
Buen trabajo

excellent efforts...my quistion is that if u spry at the place u enter camra are given same result or not because i did,t seen clearlly u sprayed in which channel.plz give suggestion
Awesome videos and comparisons bro! I have to do an oil change but I wanna take carbon off my intake valves too. Would you recommend doing an oil change after? Or maybe an oil flush or engine flush & then an oil change
This method of cleaning with carb cleaner, no need for oil change or engine oil flush, I have another video were I cleaned the intake valves with water, u recommend oil change after that, but for carb cleaner, NO NEED TO
OMG it's this for real I'm surprised 😮
Yes, that's the proof
Can this be done on diesel engines too or is it recommended only for petrol engines?
Can you do this to a diesel through the vacuum line to turbo
Does it work on diesel engine? Thx
I'm starting to suspect that this might be my issue on my GDI, some major Carbon build up on my valves. I changed my plugs and plug wires, cleaned the throttle body out and it still runs a bit rough on/off during idle. Feels like the torque power isn't there when accelerating.
Same here, 1.0 TSi ecu mod to 250nm, used to skid on 2nd gear on dry road, now NOOO way + it eats more
Can I use this same product on my 2014 elantra gt 2014? I was thinking on CRC products but based on different videos on RUclips this one shows way better results!! Have you ever had any problems by doing this? There some people saying this may be dangerous cause a large chunk of carbon could cause piston or catalityc converter damage
I never had problems with it, and I did this on many cars, and yes carb cleaner gives best result
I am having an issue with misfire on a cold start. Maybe I should do this
A genius
🙏🙏
Before and after pics were taken with the intake manifold removed, not with the boroscope. Sketchy video...
Same
Hi. I have a carburated engine. How can i use the carb cleaner to clean piston heads?
Hi,
Could we use this product on a diesel car?
What if seals on valves are worn? Should I be worried about that or is it still fine?
I know this is real i used that carb cleaner to clean my fuel injectors and it ran like brand new than wasting my money buying new ones 👌🏼
Great job!, thanks for yor feedback
Yes I agree. Could be a waste of money when you can clean them up. OEM ones are not cheap.
I bought a tool for cleaning fuel injectors. I think cleaning fuel injectors and cleaning air intake valves will solve my poor fuel economy issues, along with replacing the Idle Air Control Valve.
You can clean the idle control valve to with carb cleaner i cleaned a ford taurus idle control valve and fixed the idle on that car runs perfect now ! I clean everything with cweb cleaner besides the mass air flow sensor
@@luxurycaddy8861 the problem with my IACV was it isn't the right IACV for car model. I bought a new one arriving soon. For most electronic parts, I prefer replacement.
I want to try this method but my question is , when engine is idling, wouldn’t one of the valves be opened just like you showed with brushes in other video with engine off ..??
Can I repeat process when I am not satisfied..?
Excellent job
Thanks for watching
I'm a bit confused but I used to disconnect brake booster on fuel injected vehicles to spray cleaners or pour cleaners in. In your video says pcv hose is that the same hose but not removing it?
Is it not suitable for hybrid vehicle in japan
I bought a cheap used car years ago, non gdi. The previous owner's mechanic poked, prodded and swapped everything trying to solve the #4 misfire it had, 3.8l ford. Condemned the motor
It was extreme carbon build up from a blocked PCV.
Did this very thing, this is an old trick actually
What if I see some engine oil on the valves along with carbon build up? My car has misfire issue. I tried to solve by changing injectors, plugs and some other tweaks but nothing helped. cylinder 3 has more misfires than others and it has more oil on the intake valve. So you think this is the main cause of the misfires? And this oil means stem seals needs to be change?
it can be use for Manual Transmission?
Awesome stuff. Please do a more detailed video - like carb cleaning for amateurs.
I will
@@AliMECH much appreciated
Can i use this procedure on honda civic 8th gen?
Good tip, thanks for sharing. I subbed :)
Thanks, you are welcome 🙏🏻

@@AliMECH Can this work on Lexus rx330 2004 engine? If yes, where will the straw pass to get the carb and choke cleaner into the engine?
Will this work in my turbocharged Direct injection engine? 2011 buick regal turbo.
Hi sir , I looked in my kia soul 1.6 gdi
And I find just one pcv valve and it's before the airflow sensor
What should i do ?
AliMECH would you advice doing this cleaning on a 2007 Honda Odyssey nearing the 120k miles mark? I don't recall to have a PCV line so may I use the vacuum line instead? Thanks!
Yea you can use the vacuum line, sometimes I use vacuum line of brake , and it works same
where is the PCV intake valve on a ford fiesta 2015 1.25 please?
Bro nice video. Where did you put that Pipe to clean the Valves ? can you tell that part ?
From PCV valve hose
Salam brother is this safe to use on Lexus is250
Hey awesome video, you think the cleaner will evenly distribute across all valves going through the vacuum line? Some argue to use the chem through the throttle directly.
I must try, can not get piston 4&6 to work, had a blocked catalyzer.
Hey, one question, doesnt the removed carbon now clog up the catalytic converter?
No, the burned carbons much smaller than catalytic converter holes
Hay bro nice video I have the electric cable for the TBS so I would need some one to be in driver seat to keep rpm at 2000 or I can do it alone with car just idling thanks
I did that on my electric throttle camry, with a wood stick to hold the rpm, but yea, if you have someone to help you, will be better
I just used a paver
Good job. Can I use this method with Mitsubishi lancer 1994 1.3cc ?
Yes, I use to have lancer 2006 and using this method, always felt engine power gain
Can I do this to a 2019 Chevy traverse six cylinder
Hi Alimech, could u please suggest a good brand of carb cleaner other than the ABRO. This product is not available in my country.
STP, Liquimoly, Gumout, Mannol etc.. are the available options.
Actually the are all the same, use Mannol then
Will this clean all the four cylinder valves? Looks amazing.
Yes it will
Thanks for the advice.
Oh, I currently putting Berryman B12 in Gas for this.... Your Thoughts on trying it your way though.
Is it good to use stp complete fuel system cleaner with this and suck it like seafoam the switch off for 20 min then start engine and how if we keep it till next morning is it ok then start up or it'll make hydro lock??
it wont hydrolock, even if you think you have hydrolocked the engines, take out the sparkplugs and crank the engine to take out excess liquid
but this not makes the oil in the cylinders thin and not lubricate and it also can get into the oil pan ?
What about toyota 110 5A engine please?
Could i use an egr / turbo cleaner instead? Btw i have got a petrol car..
Hi can i clean the same in my toyota highlander 2009 intake valve through the PVC hose? Using the carbon cleaner? Please suggest?
I have a bit of white smoke in start up and also when i rev up the accelator
Yes you can do that, but you need to fix that problem first, you might have wear out piston ring or valve seals
Please, do a video on cleaning the fuel injectors on a Toyota Corolla 2013 using this same technique; thanks.
Great suggestion!
@@AliMECH I preciate you bro
Does this clean the intake manifold well also? Thank you for your videos
Yes it does, thanks for watching
If this the way will make piston scratch to the block. Good luck
How many km's/miles until you cleaned your intake valves (from the last time you knew they were clean)? I'm just wondering what is a good milage interval between the intake valve cleaning.
I usually do evey 10k for my cars
brother i but the tube before the pcv valve right ?
there is one big suction hose near brake oil area which has a great suction power . is it ok to do the same method through that hose? and do we need to change engine oil after this cleaning procedure or no?
some people use the vacuum for the brakes and that works well.
i don't have carb cleaner straw,
i do have very thin wire
If i pull the wire out of its plastic skin
can i use the plastic skin in place of the red carb cleaner straw?
Yes that's a good idea
Where would you spray this if you have a electronics throttle body
Hello Mr Ali
Can I pour carb cleaner directly to the piston rings through spark plugs hose and wait for 6 hours then remove it and crank the engine then put on the spark plugs again
No, bad idea, it will wash the cylinder wall as well, and all the dirt will gets in to the oil instead burring and comes out of the tailpipe
AliMech can you show us what dry ice cleaning would do for intake cleaning?
I did many tests but the carb cleaner was the best, im sure dry ice wont be that good too
seriously? The guy is using a can of crap, do you know how expensive dry ice equipment is? lol
Very nice
Thanks
Thanks, yes it will be expensive, for few dollars I had this result, actually it depends on the engine, some burns oil more, I suggest cleaning it every 25,000-30,000 miles

Would this work on a non-direct injection engine? (2013 Ford focus)
Good job man 👍👍👍👍👍Is it effective for non gdi engine?
I haven't use it on gdi engine, so I really can't say its working or not
You shouldn't have to do this for a non GDI engine because the gas with cleaning additives will clean the valves for you.
Good
Thanks
Will this work on 2019 1.5T Civic?
My brother have the same vehicle, we put the oil catch can and solve the issue of oil consumption.
Will this clean a V6? Where are other locations on engine to insert the carb cleaner? What years are considered modern cars? Great tutorial video!!! Thank you.
Yes it will clean v6 too, the best place is the vacuum line to spray the carb cleaner, I also did on 2017 Toyota carry as well, thanks for watching
@@AliMECH the vacuum line on the firewall?
Sir, is there any possibility of carbon removed from valves would clogged the catalyctic converter and oxygen sensors?
I doubt it would. The carb cleaner dissolves the carbon build-up, and then it's combusted and shot out the exhaust as vapor and smoke. And whatever carbon is left on the cat will burn away once you take it for a drive. Cat's clog up when they melt from running the engine running too rich or too lean, or from certain fuel additives like over-the-counter octane booster.
Hi guy , could u show video how to clean valve BMW car , more people would like to see because it is complicated how to prevent the engine light come out. Pls notice ..
sir
my car is indica turbo (tdi)
can I spray crab cleaner removing the air filter box
if I spray .it will pass through turbo >intercooler>air intake
my car doesn't have pcv valve but has oil seperator
please reply
If your car is turbo, not a good idea to spray carb cleaner, use turbo cleaner instead, you can use brake vacuum line as well instead of pcv valve line
Plz make a video on gear oil change
I have an old video
