I appreciate the effort you put in, but I can't help like feeling you hit mission impossible here. You can't modernize this without losing the whole point of the design.
I was all set to roast you for this one, the ’64 E-Type is my favorite car! I’m not a big fan of the squarish side vent (seems out of place, doesn’t flow with anything), but the roofline and rear lights look really good. Great job!
Do a series where you redesign a youtubers car, videos may become a bit more popular, also theres a range of youtubers modified cars that could look different with a redesign by you.
I did not think it it was possible. You nailed it! This is awesome. I think the reason sixties sports cars are hard to redesign is that the basic shape of their bodies are lithe, combined with a lot of daylight underneath, high profile tires, upright seating position giving an impression of floating. I am blessed to have driven a pagoda when I was young. The feeling this geometry gives you is that of a hovercraft that tips in one direction or another, making changes in weight distribution easily read. Modern cars with slab sides and no ground clearance, large wheels, present a large canvas for aesthetic changes.
LOL... You haven't learned yet, that YOU CAN'T IMPROVE ON PERFECTION.??? We, the people who love the E -Type, we love it the way it is.!!! CLASSIC CARS, NOTHING LIKE THE REAL THING.!!!!
@HAPPIFACE OFDOOM Just my opinion, the Enzo is more of a stylistic and functional piece of design than something beautiful, even though I think it is an engineering beauty
I actually like this a lot, the E type is a beautiful car as is, but I definitely think the modernization that you’ve done looks great and all the proportions are proper, love your work! You got a subscriber for life!
Now your cars I'd drive because even though they are modern they look like cars they look really good and they stand out like a car should. Keep up the good work
I worked at a used car lot during the 90’s and those wheels actually remind me the wheels on some old shabby 80’s Jaguar Sovereigns and XJS models my boss used to have and which we couldn’t even give away for free 😜
It looks pretty good... and one of the best cars you have redesigned, with just the little touch on the back window, you nailed it. the only thing that more i look and more it is not in place is the side fender, it seems to angular , for a perfectly roundet shape car.
Jaguar has already done this job in 1996. They designed the modernisation of the E-type (realising that the next in line design, the XJ-S, was not). They called it the XK8 and two years later added some small design refinements (plus a beast of a supercharger) to make the fastest road car they had ever built to date and called it the XKR. They made later adjustments to make the car "beefier" as you well say, but for classic, smooth lines, particularly the bonnet and the fast-back coupe (less so the cabriolet), it was those first designs that ran from 1998 to 2003 that kept closest to the E-type. After that design, no other car will have that classic wide mouthed front without the low skirt as it's simply illegal these days in a production car. So... buy an XKR from 1998-2004 now, they cost almost nothing and they are the true inheritor of the gorgeous E-type design, with the exterior style and interior guts to back it up.
Damn dude... These re-designs are amazing! How about some interior re-design? Like Rework the interior of an old-timer so it would fit into the modern Era. Just a suggestion :)
Hey Sketch, I really love your work. Great channel! - Maybe I have a great challenge idea for you: Lately, you often did re-designs of modern sports cars. But just like in this video, I always really loved your videos of bringing old classic cars into a modern style. So I thought a lot about maybe the most known and classic car ever... the classic Volkswagen Beetle from the 60s and 70s. As we all know, Volkswagen already made a "New Beetle" in 1997. And in my opinion, it was ugly and boring as hell!!! - So, I think it would be really cool and interesting to see your idea of a modern, cool and sporty re-design of the Beetle. Would love to see that... Thanks for the great content and all the best wishes from Germany.
People are saying it's the most beautiful car ever made. I just don't see it. It's not that I don't like Jaguars, there are just better looking Jaguars to me. This one just looks like an ugly bubble.
How can I send my designs to you so that you can review them and give me some tips for improving them. Edit:I'm a 17 year old boy preparing for an entrance exam and sketching and drawing cars and other stuff(monuments) from my childhood and need solution of problem in rendering designs.
I feel like you would be a great car designer for video games. I think you'll be hired in a heart beat. Also can you redesign video game cars, specifically cars from the saints row series?
I would suggest adding a "shoulder" above the front wheel arch, and lowering the whole thing a bit, instead of adding that extension under the rear, which you said you shouldn't do.
I was really apprehensive about this one but it looks awesome. Have to admit I was expecting a light bar but the round lights look great. They give it a bit of a Zagato feel.
I love the redesign. Nice wheel choice. I would not gone with the side vents and I would have curved the front wheel arch. I would have also given more glass in the back for visibility. The tail lights are a good choice, better than the light bar.
Great work, as usual. Only issue though is that the air vent behind the front wheel is a little too straight. I know the rear part of the bonnet was straight, but as a remake of the older car with an air vent in that area, it really needs at least some sort of slight angle or curve, just to give it that little something. Other than that, it's all good.
I prefer the roof a little less humped, as on the original. This roof looks Aston Martinish from that era. The smoothing is outstanding, and I, too, would like to see the accompanying front end.
One thought about your redesigns: I think to look truly modern the whole body of the car needs to be stretched down to match the modern unibody look and to accommodate modern suspension. And increasing front and rear bumber space for modern crash safety requirements. I know you are just doing a visual refresh, but maybe some consideration for engineering might up the designs and give them an even more modern look. Ok, that was two thoughts.
On the subject of British sports cars, would you consider the modern MGTF or older MGF? I always found it very good looking, but something feels off about its proportions.
Hey SketchMonkey, nice video as always. Would love to see you redesign the Fiat Coupé one day, just like if Fiat decided to bring it back, maybe even under the Abarth brand?
Now I wanna see what the front would look like.
Yea. I agree.
I was expecting an LED strip in the rear but these round lights are awesome, well done!
Reminds me of the back end of a Jaguar XK8 or an Aston Martin Zagato.
I appreciate the effort you put in, but I can't help like feeling you hit mission impossible here. You can't modernize this without losing the whole point of the design.
Exactly, the body styles or even whole shapes for most appreciated old cars is not modern anyone.
Agreed ...nice try but....it’s lost it’s soul..I think however the e-type while gorgeous is looking just a little bit dated now but this was overkill
Yeah, it's a good effort but in the case of the E Type, if it ain't broke.....
@@MultiDesignGuy so cheesy

How hilarious, maybe you should show this to Jaguar in England, they need a good laugh !

the vents are off of a hotwheels car called the fast felion(the fusion of both the F type svr{drivetrain and engine} and the e type)
I think you can't make as beautiful car as old E Type is, but this is fine.
Loved that you stuck with simplicity and those round lights are much better than an LED bar.
Could you modernize the Toyota 2000GT?
> modernize the Toyota 2000GT
It would still look like a prettier E-Type ;)
@@YensR Too bad Toyota would just make the 2000gt look like a shaver nowadays.
This car holds a special place in my heart. I almost didn't watch because I feel it should never be changed. It was perfect from the factory.
well now its even better. i did this on paper but i instead went for a 2jz(the jaguar motor is basically its older cousin since they are both DOHC)
This is the first redesign that i enjoy
Could you please redesign either the:
Peel P50
Reliant Robin
or the Ford RS200 EVO
Maybe even the Nissan Cube?

the front air duct should have a bit more curve to it as it just sorta shoots upright making the side of the car look flat
Redesign actually done before. Look for the "Growler" e-type. Most likely the best looking car in the world!
Love it! Excellent work 👌
Reminds me of bentley. Taillight shape and well overall
The title made me not want to see the video, yet here I am. How could you even think about this? Damn...
now that you tried the most beautful car ever...... why not the miura?!!!

You are indeed getting better at redesigning these classics. I wish you had kept the floating exhausts though. You should do the front side too.
absolutely amazing, i love the way you work with photoshop and the results are mindblowing

Really cool this one, you even remembered to put the jaguar logo at the back.
You could just bring up a picture of an Aston Martin DB7 - that was meant to be an E-Type sequel/redesign.
I thought he was starting to get lazy with his designs but this redesign is awesome. Well done!
As a crazy Jaguar E-Type enthusiasts.... I approve! Well done!
New James bond car????
That looks good, a modern interpretation of a real classic
it almost looks as if it were a Porsche if it had different taillights which i think proves that this was a successful re-design. Very cool
I asked for this one a long time ago, but as a challenge because the car is already perfect lol
Great job Monkey!
Beautiful design! Very good job!
I m happy you did this as I've asked for an E type so many times! Can you do a bugatti atlantique next?
Not sure about the air outakes on the side and the line on the back fender with the C pilar by the way

Sorry, doesn't work for me. Part of the attraction of the original was the glass area, and now its reduced, throws all out of proportion.
