    I just replaced both light assemblies on a 2007 Corolla, it took about three hours. I was surprised how easy the grill and bumper came off. A bolt that holds on the right headlight broke off and I had to drill it out. It is a special bolt that I had to order from the Toyota dealer. I had a difficult time getting the new light assemblies back in the car and I broke one of the headlight bulbs (no big deal). Your video saved me a lot of money, thanks.

      Thank you! You don’t have to fully remove the front bumper, you can just pop the top clips and pull the bumper to reveal the headlight bolts to remove it. If you remove the bumper, it’ll be easier to see though.

      @@diavolow9 when most of the screws and bolts are practically welded together with rust, you can't just unthread them the way the video shows. Removing things that have rusted together is a freaking major project, and I wish that the video maker would have addressed this.

      @@diavolow9 you must have a Corolla that is in fairly sound condition. If, like me, your Corolla has been beat to hell off road, and banged into a lot of stuff, and the body has been wracked this way and crunched that way, and you've never bothered to repair any of the damage, then nothing lines up properly, and getting the screws out and getting everything back together again is a real nightmare.

    The screw that holds the bumper and grill... Mine is completely rusted. My stupid friend stripped it. But we can't get at it because of the plastic grommet thing. Does the plastic part come off by itself? Or will pulling on it also rip the screw out?

    • @Davidd419

      You can pull off the rub part carefully with a little force and use a vice grip on the screw. I had the same problem but the screw stripped because of the rust.

  • @TomReichner
    @TomReichner 2 года назад

    The screw(s) that you take out so easily at 1:24 do not come out anywhere near as easily in real life situations with very old Corollas. Mine are pretty much "welded" in place with rust, and will have to be drilled out, and then a new nut welded onto the sheet metal on the bottom. A really big freaking deal to do. I think only people with Corollas in newer condition, like under 200,000 miles, will be able to take those screws out the way you do.
