How to replace the bulb in a 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008 Toyota Corolla.
Thank you. This 68 year old grandmother followed your instructions and was successful.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Stephen Yehuda instablaster :)
Granny’s Corolla !!!!!
Your video made it easy. My 15 year old daughter did it in less than 5 minutes. Its psycho that the auto shop was going to charge $300 for that.
That's great to hear! I'm glad this was so helpful for you and your daughter. It really is pretty darn simple. And yeah, that's a ridiculous amount to charge!
I just change the bulb and I am 70, if I can do it, anyone can, thanks to you tutorial. My Toyota Corolla is 2006 and after I separated the filter, I realize what was behind it was the high beam bulb,, so I put the pin for the filter back. The only problem was the space left between the battery and the side of the car is very narrow, good thing I have very narrow hands. No problem taking the bulb out but a bit putting it back in, again the space. I guess a person with big hands, he/she probably would have to take the battery out. Thank you again. I can erase this on my bucket list :)
Thank you for posting this! It took five minutes to change both of my low beam bulbs on my 2004 Corolla. I found that I didn't need to move the hose for my left headlight, maybe because my hands are smaller? Whatever the reason, I'm happy that I could do it myself instead of spending all the time and money at a shop!
+Cheryl Beidler Good Job! I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla and I need to change the bulbs too.
Thank you so much! Thanks to your tutorial, I was able to replace the headlight on my 2005 Toyota Corolla. You saved me about $75 (parts and labor at the auto shop). Have a great day!
Thank you so much! You just helped this 22 year old college girl save a lot of time and money! Great video!
Years later, thank you. Great-aunt of almost 63 years old, Florida, changed my own bulb on the driver's side.
Way to go! You are very welcome.
Jason, thanks for the short and sweet explanation! You saved me a heck of a lot of time not having to remove the battery more-less the bumper as suggested in some videos. Was able to change the bulb in our 2004 Corolla in 5 minutes. Thanks again!!
You're very welcome!
Thank you! Every other video was telling us to take off the entire front of the car just to change a simple lightbulb...
This is the best tutorial available in RUclips. I got my headlight bulb replaced in less than 3 mins following this video. Thanks for sharing!
FIVE STARS. Excellent video. Easy to understand. I didn't need to pull out the air filter hose to access my low beam bulb. Some people may need to move the battery clamp if they have larger hands.
Thanks Malcolm! Really appreciate the feedback
Nice vid - I hope my son watched it, he was pulled over last night for a burnt light. I sent him the link so he could see how this is done and clear his fixit ticket. One thing I'd add, replace bulbs in pairs if you can, they dim with age, so take care of them both and enjoy the benefit of bright lights at night!
Thanks Jason.
Trading in my 2014 Jeep Cherokee for a Toyota Corolla 2006 and I just got curious to see how to replace a headlight bulb...and it's sooo simple!! 😭😭🥰 I love it hahaha. Thank you for the very educational video!
Literally took me less than 10 minutes! Very helpful!
Great! Thanks for sharing. Also, I love your user name
@@JasonsHonestReviews thanks!
Jason, great help buddy, even I could replace the bulb. Took less than 5 minutes. The clockwise vs counter clock was a huge help too.
Thanks Paul! Glad this helped. I appreciate the feedback!
You're welcome, Paul! Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear that was helpful
Most helpful video on this topic that I've found on RUclips! Thank you! Nicely filmed and the images from the owners manual are a helpful and thoughtful touch.
Thank you!
I tried it today, after watching your video. I think it worked. Thanks heaps. Saved my money
You are welcome, Pravin! Thanks for sharing your success
Great video, concise, to the point, and very illustrative. I might add that you should never touch the new bulb glass with bare hands because skin oil will burn onto the bulb and greatly shorten bulb life. Now I can do my daughter's replacement in her Toyota. Thanks!
That's a great point! Thanks!
Thanks a million! I did it the way you described. I replaced the low beam bulb on the driver( battery) side in 3 minutes. I didn't even have to move the air filter unit. Thank god I ran into your video. When I first saw the others showing all kinds of chassis dismantling, I really thought I should take my 2005 corolla to a mechanic!! You not only saved me some money but more importantly the time!!!!!
Used this video to change my bulb today, worked like a charm! I have an '05 Corolla btw.
Same. About to change mine out as well.
L N lit they r great!
Yeah better video because the other video I watched said you had to take the whole battery out this is way easier.
For me it was the right side but this video still worked for me. Turn is still counterclockwise to get the bulb out. I was able to change my headlight for a total of $14. Good work for a rainy day 😌
Thank you! It was super easy & I didn’t need to move anything. This is the one time my little Trex arms & hands came in handy!
You're welcome - I'm glad you were able to get it done! Way to go!
your video was really helpful. replaced both headlights on my 2007 corolla in 5 min. There was no need to move the air hose.
Finally, a helpful RUclips video that cuts straight to the point. My headlight is fixed and *I saved over $60* I would've been charged for labor to have a car mechanic fix it for me. Thank you!
*****
Yeah, the sad part (for them) is if they only charged 5 or 10 bucks for the labor, I wouldn't have even thought twice, but when they tried to charge almost 80 bucks for the bulb and labor, I was like, "Um, I think I'll do it myself."
*****
Correct you are! My grandma and I go to different Toyota service centers, and we are both shocked at how much they charge.
Watched this video 4 minutes ago (I had already bought a replacement), and I'm finished and back upstairs writing this review. Your video gave me the confidence to attempt it - but it was SIMPLE. Local shop wanted $25 to do it, the bulb was $10. Note, there was no reason to remove the air filter valve - maybe better access on 2008 model? Just reached right in and switched it out. Thanks!
Thank you for this video. I am so tired of being beat by the dealership. So much money, and effin two hour waits. Thanks!
Here I am in 2020 and this video is still by far the most helpful and right to the point. Great job and thank you
Fantastic!!! I didn't even need to remove that plastic nub replacing the light on the left drivers side. Saved me $60 bucks at the dealer!!!!
Awesome, thank you. I just replaced the bulb on my 2005 Corolla and it took me less than a couple of minutes. I didn't even have to move the air filter.
Thank you. I hard when something goes wrong on the car and thinking you has to take it to the mechanic. The instructions are excellent and i did my self, you save me money and time. GOD bless you.
Jason, this was the best tutorial out there! Your directions were spot on! Thanks again!
Thanks, Lupe!
Thank you so much. This video was helpful and relevant to me still in 2023
Thanks Daniel! Glad I could help! Appreciate the comment
I just went out and looked at my 2010. It looks the same as this video. Will be trying the weekend. Will be getting the bulbs tomorrow.
Excellent, imformative video…1 tip I can add, is the guy at the auto part store just told me never touch the bulb with your fingers, it will blow out fast because of the oil on our hands.
this is one of the best DIY video I have seen -2004 Corolla S
Want to add my praises to those already heaped upon you, Jason. I was able to change my bulb out easily, thanks to your video. Appreciate it!
THANK YOU! I'm not a car guy and am not remotely handy, but thanks to this video I was able to do this one myself. Very much appreciated!
That makes sense. Well, I'm glad you did, because it helped a lot. Thanks again!
Stellar video! Excellent job of providing ALL the NEEDED details with no extra fluff! Nice job... thank you!
[12.11.2021]
Than you!
Thank you from Brazil, Jason!
I Have a Brad 2003 and i replaced lamps in my car thanks to your video.
It worked! I was able to slip my hand in without moving the air filter (thanks for the tip) so it took less than five minutes, cost less than $5. Thank you for this great tutorial!
thank you! glad I could help!
Thanks for the video--you should be getting a kickback from Hella. You sold me a bulb and saved me a trip to the mechanic.
Thank you! Had to replace my low beam today driver's side. It's -22 F out today so this definitely made it easier for me. I did have to move my battery as I just couldn't get a good reach. Thanks again!!
super helpful! was able to change out a low beam bulb on my 2007 corolla sport for just the cost (about $6) of the new bulb itself. thanks!
So easy to follow and insightful!! Thanks so much for your clearly broken down guide and explanation for a DIY replacement of light bulbs. So helpful!
Jason Foote Much appreciated as well. I’ll make sure I subscribe. Blessings bro
As a woman who knows very little about cars, these instructions are priceless.
right on! thank you so much for this tutorial. i ended up having to take the battery out on my 2006 corolla to gain easy access to the light, but it wasn't a big deal. there are videos that show you how to do that as well. i love how often when things can cost a lot of money to have someone else do it, a person can be motivated to do it themselves, learn something in the process, and save some bucks. once again, thank you so much!
Awesome video! Thanks so much - changed my bulb in under two minutes flat!
Great and very detailed video. I’m certain I can handle a simple bulb change without my dad.
Great job !! Made it easy for me. Getting that plastic piece with the hose out of the way was the key to the driver's side. Many thanks !!
Great video! It really only took 5 minutes - my father will be proud : ) Thanks so much!
I used this link to change lights on both sides. Worked exactly as described.
Very simple and straightforward demonstration. Thank you!
I watched this before changing my light and it was super helpful! Thank you!
Just used this video to change my light in an Autozone parkinglot, you are the best bro!
Discovered your video just an hour ago. truly a life saver, thank you!
Bro, you saved me money and time and I thank you for it, great video!!
You're welcome, jimBob. Thanks for the comment!
thank you so much. my fiance will be very happy. life saver.
Thanks so much for video just fixed my left headlight from my 2003 Toyota Corolla. Same location as video too 💪🏾💪🏾
Nice! That's great. I'm glad this did the trick!
Awesome video! Saved me lots of time as opposed to the other videos. Unfortunately I snapped my clips off, so I hope the bulbs stay in place!
Just changed out both bulbs and it went perfectly. Thanks so much for this video -- it was really helpful.
Great video, changed my bulb in minutes!
Good video of the more difficult side to do. You ought to have mentioned that if you touch the headlight bulb with your skin, or get any other oils on that bulb it will likely burn out very quickly. I have had this happen enough to know!
Just wanted to say thanks for you video, I know nothing about cars and your video was straight-forward and easy to follow. :)
Honestly thank you so much!! I had never changed a light in a car before and like you said all these other videos were telling me to take the front bumper cover off and I just was not trying to do that. Your video was so easy to follow I really appreciated the help! Thanks again!
Man you are awesome!!!
Thanks a lot!!
I said to my girlfriend I Can change it (i think it was like my Verna 04) and when I tried i think I would need a lot of time.
Now I can do it in 5 minutes. And she will be pleased :D
Thanks a lot!!
thanks for the super simple method. I was dreading taking out the battery like another video said to do. I appreciate you for posting this video.
you are very welcome. glad I could help. it really isn't complicated at all hu?
Thanks for this video. It took me about that to change my bulb out of my 05 Corolla.
This is a great video. I will be replacing my headlight (passenger side) on my 2007 corolla this afternoon. Luckily it's the easy side. It will be my first time doing it myself. Thank you!
Thanks a ton for this, it worked like a charm. It was really helpful that your burnt-out bulb was on the battery side like mine!
Excellent video, thank you. I appreciate the references to the owner's manual as you went along. Well done.
I don't think I have to look for more videos. Thanks man
Nice video. You forgot to mention bulb grease though which is a good idea to help seal your headlights from moisture and prematurely going out.
This videos definitely solved my problem. Great.
Great video! Just changed the bulb on my 03 Corolla for $10 instead of having to pay mechanic!
Thank you for taking the time to put up such a clear video - much appreciated
Thank you so much for making this video ! Every other video I watched told me i had to take off my bumper 🙃
Excellent demonstration - much better than Chilton! Nice, smooth video segments - you have a steady hand. Thanks for showing me the easiest way!
MR Foote, Thank You very much, a very good video for first-timer, or for the hands-on do it yourself person.
Great, clear explanation and to the point! Saved me some time and money!
car noob here: thanks for the clear tutorial. my right low beam went out and crap timing too its safety and registration renewal month
Thanks my dude! I knew you didn't have to take the whole bumper off.
@@JasonsHonestReviews Changed it out in less than 5 minutes thanks man!
thanks work straight up 5 min in a parking lot !
Thank you, this saved me a lot of time. This gives us with 2 free hands a little bit of confidence 👍👍👍
very helpful didn't have to remove the air filter thank god for my little hands!!!
Great video here Jason. I have to do the exact same replacement, same bulb, same side as you did on so your video may as well have been made for me! Not sure why the other videos didn't mention you don't need to take the bumper off if you're only replacing a bulb?.. But thanks for this!
Thank you. $20 to replace both headlights myself. Much appreciated.
Thank you very much! I did in less than 2 minutes today! 👌👌👌😉😉😉😀😀😀
Thank you. Will try to change tomorrow. 😊
You're welcome. Best of luck!
Thanks dude. Also, I believe that assembly that you moved out of the way is the horn. That's why it's not really connected to anything.
Good video.
My 2006 did not have the easily removable pin for the air hose, so I ended up doing the battery loosening method.
Thanks! Just used this video to change a bulb
Thanks for the tip about the air pump, I wasn't aware of that. ! If I weighed 100 lbs. soaking wet, I could probably change the bulb myself, but unfortunately I'm a fatty and no way will my arm squeeze in far enough. So, I'm still going to have to take the battery out or else hire Gumby to do the job for me.
haha thanks for the comment, Billy. Hope it worked out ok
Good stuff, right on with all directions! I did break the plastic screw when I was pulling it out. Thanks so much for doing this.
this video is helping me in real time. Thank you for posting
Thank you just changed headlight by myself awesome vid liked and subbed!!!
No prob just a question though, the lady at the auto zone instructed me to not touch the glass part on the bulb itself while I install it. Any specific reason for this ?
Thanks dude you solved my problem. 🙏
Just replaced mine thanks to this video! Kudos!
Quick and clean explanation!
fantastic, helpful video! I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. NOTE: if you have big hands, it maybe easier to remove the battery to access the rear of light. BIG THANKS!
Thank you! I can't find my manual and it worked like a charm!
