Oooh, interesting idea. I tried to do the same and asked for a plan for a relaxing day in my city. It suggested to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in Restaurants of my choice in the city centre and in-between to go to a famous park and castle nearby. When I asked for vegan Restaurant options it recommended two Restaurants that don't exist and two that are very much meat-based (maybe they have a vegan option? But mind you we have several vegan and vegetarian places here.) When I asked for their addresses it even invented a street that doesn't exist. 😅 Also, it recommended to take a boat ride on a lake, where boats are actually forbidden. So I'm glad your options existed. 😂
hannah, i've been really loving your content lately! i like the approach you take to the whole lifestyle content creation - it's obviously still you recording your life, but i think the way you include prompts to your video keeps them incredible interesting. i always look forward to your uploads :)
Haha that would have been funny! Although a lot of the ‚landmarks‘ in London, ON share names with those in the og London, e.g. Covent Garden. Signed, someone who used to live on Oxford Street in Ontario‘s London. I can attest it’s less exciting than the original one :)
What a fun video, especially since I’m going to London for the first time this week! I do want to mention though that I’ve used ChatGPT for planning travel days multiple times, and it can do a fantastic job if you provide a less brief prompt. Of course, Jess naturally considers walkability and discovering nice spots along the way, but AI needs that mentioned.
@@morehannahJust a little bit of effort but once you give it the parameters it can apply it again for other requests in the same thread if that makes sense!
Omg my mom loved Judy Chicago in the 70s! There was an exhibit “the dinner party” that was all embroidery art, mom had the book from it. So yes, embroidery.
Love this, and actually makes me feel like I'd enjoy spending an extended period of time in London, maybe a trip will have to be on the cards in the future!
I love the Love and London channel, and Jess’s recommendations were wonderful! Even though you enjoyed the spa, I was surprised ChatGPT picked it as it’s not really an activity to experience London, if that makes sense. Loved the video!
This really made me want to go to London again! Would love to go browsing in all those fun stores :) As somebody else mentioned, the prompt for ChatGPT has to be much more detailed (I wish it could just understand implicit things better haha). Even thought the instructions were the same, Jess has a lot more information about you already: that you've been living in London for a while, like charity shopping, don't mind walking, your budget etc. For the given prompt, I actually think ChatGPT did better at combining relaxation and activity, although I'd also prefer the second one!
yeah the second was definitely a lot more activity heavy but I obviously didn't vlog the whole thing but I was walking along that canal for A WHILE and listening to my audiobook which was very lovely and relaxing :)
I once travelled to London for a concert (classic European traveling to foreign countries for concerts lol) and I fell in love with London. There’s a certain magic that’s indescribable.
Thanks for this! As a mum of a 5 month old I love my local area Kings Cross, Coal Drops, the canal etc but love these ideas to go a smidge further afield again! Great reckos from L&L and deffo hit on such a good point about making the most of travel time in London!!
I asked chat gpt to plan a day for us, when my partner and i went to dublin back in may. Our prompt included a small budget as well. And it was honestly the best day we had in dublin
Vox made a video about Barbie's dream house around the time the movie was released. In the video they compared different dream houses and explained how their designs reflect the different times they were released in. One thing they took up that didn't even cross my mind was that Barbie owned her own house as a single woman in the 1960s, she lives alone, is a student and has lots of books laying around. My view of Barbie's dream house before watching that video was that the dream house is a patriarchal tool to teach young girls to become housewives. In reality, it's 100% feminist, because Barbie owned her own house in a time when women weren't even allowed to own a credit card.
Ok just asked Chat GPT for an itinerary where I live. It was doing good at keeping everything near each other until the end, where it shot me to the other side of the country to relax.
The best advice I had when I was in London was to plan a trip around a park in the summer as see what attractions are near that park. Makes you go to different parts of London
Funny, I went to a exhibit on contemporary art from African / African diaspora artist and it included one sculpture by Yinka Shonibare as well. When you showed the art I was immediately like wow recognisable style!
i'm anti-ai in general, but jess really slayed this!!! also, speculating on the prices of fancy houses while walking around is one of our favorite activities--it was so funny to hear you talk about it!!!
I also went to the second Serpentine gallery and luckily had the guide which listed what all the buildings were but didn't have pictures of them so there was a lot of hasty googling to differentiate them all. They were meant to represent places of refuge for persecuted and vulnerable groups- although one of them was Bibby Stockholm so not sure about that one!
I've only been to London once and didn't love it because it was a typical "see all we can as fast as possible" trip organized by someone else, full of tourists everywhere, exhausting. xp Would love to go again in the future on my own pace. :p
I went on a long weekend in London over the summer, and three of the best things I did were ones I had to go looking for and doing research on, but definitely worth it. There was a cat cafe with a kitten room, a comedy club which was hilarious, and the foundling museum. The foundling museum was one of five museums that I went to, and by far the best.
The Serpentine galleries sound so cool - I had no idea they did such interesting exhibitions! Checking out Judith Chicago now. And I loved that random canal boat cafe at the end. Although, as a fellow northerner, I wouldn't specifically choose a walk along a canal as an activity!
cool video idea! really enjoyed. I know you kept the briefs the same to make it fair, but chat gpt needs as much detail as possible in order to give a satisfying answer, it would've been cool to see what it would've come up with following some criteria you input!
Fleur de force's London flat is near there. Notting Hill/Westbourne road. Her flat is on Ledbury avenue/near the Ledbury. In addition to a £5million Hall that was gifted to them from her husband's family... Safe to say they're rich rich 😂

As someone who isn't that well acquainted with London, "the most expensive place on the London monopoly board" really drove home what kind of neighbourhood this is 😂
I can't be the only one who hears the song from Bedknobs and Broomsticks anytime someone mentions Portobello Road "Portobello Road, Portobello Road, the street where the riches of ages are sold. Anything and everything a chap can unload is sold off the barrow at Portobello Road."
It's so interesting watching videos like this and for the fist time thinking about how the names of certain areas and landmarks in my country have British origins. My grandparents lived in Warwick Avenue, but in South Africa.
I was never a big fan of London but I've really become more curious through your videos! You've shown a side that I would actually like to explore - loved your tour of feminist book shops too :)
ChatGPT roughly uses around 500ml of water for every 20 questions asked and I think this is a disadvantage that should be stated as googling days in London or using a service similar to what Jess provides probably is slightly greener or at the very least those people who made those sites are getting the money from ads etc :)

i lived in london for years, im the same age as you. i left 2021 because of brexit and bc i couldnt deal with the awful politics anymore and how covid was handled. london is the city i spent the majority of my adult life. i miss it.
To be fair, Jess is your friend, so even with the same brief she had more insight than ChatGPT because she knows you. Like how would the AI know that you live in London, where you’ve already been and what your interests are?
one of the least recognised sign of patriachy in the past and today is how little traditionally feminine art forms are VALUED in the art world. any type of fabric art does not usually hang in museums, despite the skill and craftsmanship and creativity it takes. traditionally WOMEN were the artists in society, designing clothes, creating curtains. embroidering artfully, but yet we only know male artists who all happen to be painters. it's so disappointing how little has been done to change this. the one exception are usually tapestries hanging in museums, where everything else is done by men.
this vid makes me so sad. ive been to all these places i used to live in queenspark right above hyde park. i miss this city and my 20s. i was forced to leave due to brexit
To be fair I think there is a general misunderstanding of what ChatGPT is capable of. For one it is a language based AI. So it will be very sensitive to your words when creating the prompts and not your emotional circumstances. If you wanted it to predict those you need to tell it in your prompt. A friend though, or just in general human beings have feelings and experiences of their own and create their predictions on that emotional level you were looking for. So this video wasn’t surprising to me at all. Still enjoyed it though and I hope you too enjoyed your half work, half exploring London days :)
I really wish more people realised the environmental impact of using AI chatbots :( I understand how this can be fun for a video, but it's started to rub me the wrong way lately...
Such a fun idea! Chat GPT would probably do much better, if you nudged it a little, like "please make sure the spots are nearby" or "what interesting can I see on the way". But I get the drill, for the human you didn't have to specify it. I wish I knew about serpentine galleries in April - I was visiting London, and we were in Hyde park in not great walking weather, so a gallery would be a blast :)
Please don’t use ChatGPT. It is heartbreaking to see an otherwise well-informed and sustainable creator who always credits artists fall into the AI trap. The text that chatGPT uses and produces is from so many authors who did NOT consent for their work to be used or plagiarised in this way.
The royal family give out OBEs, MBEs and CBEs. I don’t necessarily agree with the royals or the honours but like nearly every British person has heard of these 😂
@@cicelyamelia True, you don't get the Dame/Knight title with CBEs or lower. But DBE/KBE get the title and they belong to the Order of the British Empire as well. They are just different (higher) grades.
For a channel that normally champions sustainability (e.g. your secondhand styling videos), I am both surprised and disappointed to see this video. Using AI Chatbots is terrible for the environment and this trend of videos that 'compare' AI to real human choices is influencing more and more people to use them for frivalious reasons. While I understand this might be a fun concept for a video, I would gently encourage you to research the environmental impact behind using ChatGPT in the future. I really love your other videos and look forward to more sustainable content in the future!
I don't think it's so black and white. AI tools like ChatGPT definitely have a greater environmental impact than a standard search engine (assuming you have all the AI features turned off). However ChatGPT is actively working on reducing its carbon footprint and uses net neutral cloud hosting. These technologies are also being leveraged by companies that are helping to save the planet and lives, rapidly speeding up research. Yes a disclaimer about the environmental impact would have been nice, but it's such a new and rapidly changing area I think we should cut her (and other people) a bit of slack. We're all learning and there's so much to learn!
Please please PLEASE stop using ChatGPT. It is not only ethically awful (trained on stolen data), but every search/prompt on ChatGPT and similar generative AI programs exact an enormous environmental toll in terms of energy and water consumption. There is no moral way to use generative AI.
That's such a weird thing to get hung up about. It uses about 10x more power than a Google search. Are you also telling people to stop using Google because it uses electricity? Because I'm guessing the average person uses Google at at least 10x more often than chat gpt. You are also steaming this video from servers which have a massive environmental impact.
@@TessaAvonleaon the Google question: please use Ecosia as a search engine. They use all their profit to plant trees. Please look it up! I've been using it for years. They also dont use/sell your data.
Google also uses AI and it's making their emissions worse. It's not really a comparison of AI vs Google, it's the fact that AI uses so much energy/resources and tech conglomerates start using AI as well which makes their already bad emissions problem even worse. This person is also correct that AI is unethical. It effectively steals content and rehashes what it's stolen to the end user. I don't think AI is inherently evil and maybe there's a way we can use it (the use of AI in medical applications to help doctors find tumors before they become more serious issues is great!) But that's not the majority of applications that AI is being used for, and the tacit endorsement of using AI for pithy stuff like this from a creator who has made content related to climate consciousness is incredibly disappointing. Hannah's job exists on the internet and it's not like the criticisms of AI are hard to find. She should absolutely have known better.
My comment got deleted. So I am trying to phrase it differently. You can use Ecosia if you want a search engine that is ecofriendly because they use their profit (from ads) to plants trees.
@@TessaAvonlea Yes! Thanks for putting it into perspective. Let's compare things to other regular activities, like taking a shower, or a short car ride. Or the industry's emissions!
I am so disappointed to see a fav creator endorsing and promoting AI such as ChatGPT when we know it has such a huge negative impact on the environment and that it plagiarises other people's work.
you need to give more info about you to not get too generic results. Like uf you add that you are a x year old mom of a x year old son, who has mbti type enfj and lived in London 10 years + your prompt. you will get a way different result 😂
I was thinking the same. ChatGPT didn’t have enough background about her and her needs for the day ( budget, taste, expectations…) the prompt was lacking lot of information. While her friend knows her and have much more background info. But I love the idea of this video.
Don't really think this is a fair comparison. Your 'friend' and 'London expert' presumably knows more about you so can tailor the day to what she already knows you like. You should've used someone who has no idea of who you are and what your interests are. You also didn't give ChatGPT enough information that your London expert already has i.e. common sense. You need to tell ChatGPT certain things that humans just naturally know to think about. Maybe if this was done between ChatGPT and a random person who's only ever heard of London once before in their lives, then it would be fairer.
Thank you for the idea to use ChatGPT to plan a trip. I live in Berlin and have time off coming up so I will definetly use that Idea soon. But also I feel like I have to mention that I don't see the concept of this video as a "not fair" comparison. Of course the "London expert" is giving a more thought out plan... I personally think ChatGPT is a new tool and is here to stay. I would really love to see more "how to use ChatGPT" content than just a comparison. Maybe ChatGPT-Outfit ideas or wardrobe planning?
I believe that it might depend on the version the free one is not updated at the same rate or ever ? Well after the death of the queen it did not acknowledge that Charles was king 😮
Oooh, interesting idea. I tried to do the same and asked for a plan for a relaxing day in my city.
👹MILLIONS👹
I really wish more people realised the environmental impact of using AI chatbots :( I understand how this can be fun for a video, but it's started to rub me the wrong way lately...
ai will save the environment because humans are unable. welcome our overlords
I think there's gotta be a lot of nuance with AI things. But I do agree, I would like here to be a bit more critical.
Complicated conversation. To be fair RUclips and us watching and commenting on RUclips is not the most environmentally friendly activity neither
this, thank you.
I don’t necessarily agree with the royals or the honours but like nearly every British person has heard of these 😂
I'm from Switzerland and I know about them. I was like, doesn't she know of these?! They're why we say Dame Judi Dench etc.
@@lenausesyoutubeO/M/CBEs have no relevance to whether you’re a dame/knight or not, that’s a different award
I think there's gotta be a lot of nuance with AI things. But I do agree, I would like here to be a bit more critical.
💯💯💯
you don't drink tea? wildest part of this whole video
I wouldn't say she's endorsing it. Let's cut her a little slack. She's only human and these are brand new issues in a rapidly changing space.
I think there's gotta be a lot of nuance with AI things. But I do agree, I would like here to be a bit more critical.
Using it and then advertising your use of it is a tacit endorsement
I would assume chatgpt planned with taxis in mind.
That’s not how ChatGPT works…it doesn’t have something “in mind,” it just regurgitates texts in its LLM.
you need to give more info about you to not get too generic results.
You didn't tell Chat GPT you were a longtime resident/that you didn't want a generic experience, it would've given you more niche ideas!
