- Monsanto has faced claims its popular weedkiller Roundup may cause cancer, after the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) announced its principle ingredient glyphosate was probably carcinogenic to humans. Enquête examines recently released Monsanto documents that expose secret practices the company (which was acquired last year by Bayer) used to defend glyphosate, including allegations of ghostwriting of scientific articles.

Not only should Monsanto/Bayer continue to be sued for all the harm they've done and continue to do, but the FDA and Health Canada should also have some class action law suits thrown into their faces for failing to protect consumers by failing to test anything ever. They rely on the testing done by the companies wanting them to approve their products. Of course these very same tests hide all the negative effects of the products.
They need to be executed. They've murdered millions around the world but other countries kick them out. Suing them does nothing and they drag it out so at the end, they pay very little. They are literally destroying real food and doing so much more that most have no clue of, that anything less that wiping them off the face of the earth would never work. The FDA and all other big Heath Certifiers are all in bed with Evil companies like Monsanto/Bayers.
Most doctors too. Doctors are indoctrinate in Big Pharma funded schools and Big Pharma funded text books.
Doctors will go along with the system for fear of losing their livelihood.
Doctors used to recommend cocaine for headache and used to promote cigarette. These doctors are paid by Big Pharma. Doctors go to school that Big Pharma paid for. So of course most doctors are going to go along with whatever the pharmaceutical say.
Most scientists are corrupt as well. Big pharma paid scientists for the results that they want. Any honest scientists who go against big pharma will be destroyed.

@dsndicmsa There's a funny thing about marketing terms and chemistry terms. Organic chemistry deals with carbon and anything that bonds to it. All the chemists that work for the oil industry are organic chemistry specialists. Chevron makes pesticides and herbicides with a brand that was called Ortho, it might still have that name or a re-branding. The toxic stuff people are conned into putting all over their yards and spray around inside their houses is so out of control. The government is supposed to regulate these things, but citizens are treated like domestic terrorists when they organize to work public safety policy.
Glyphosate should be banned from spraying on to food crops, period.

Round-Up. As the scientist mentioned, one part of the combination is not at fault, it's the combinations. But, yes, ban glyphosate in general.

If I remember correctly, the US, under Obama, signed in a Republican bill called the Monsanto Protection Act which allowed them to get away with everything. And Monsanto wrote the bill too. The bill isn't actually called that, but that is essentially what it did for Monsanto in the US. This just shows how powerful the company is and how politicians from both sides don't care about people but the bottom line.
That was related to Monsantos GMO/SEEDS...

On 26 March 2013, President Obama signed into law a bill passed by the House and Senate earlier that month known as the “Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013” to provide funding for various federal agencies through the end of the 2013 fiscal year. One of the provisions included in that bill in the section for “Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and related agencies” was Section 735, variously dubbed the “Farmer Assurance Provision” or the “‘Monsanto Protection Act,” an inclusion which reignited a clash between the agribusiness industry and food safety groups. The former maintains that the Farmer Assurance Provision prevents activists from manipulating the court system to force farmers to abandon or destroy genetically modified (GMO) or genetically engineered (GE) crops that have already received U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) safety approval; the latter assert that Congress kowtowed to big business by sneaking into an appropriations bill a provision that allows large biotech companies like Monsanto to do an end run around the court system and avoid legitimate legal challenges to the safety of their products.

Strange that this is presented on CBC and I saw recently a TV ad of Monsanto poisonous Roundup on that TV channel.
Because the network knows that most viewers are not ignorant conspiratards like you.
I personally stopped using Roundup 5-6 years ago after finding out about its carcinogenic connection.
Relax, it has no carcinogenic connection to humans.

@dsndicmsa Did you watch the video??? Mr. Lee Johnson's case WAS appealed and he won the appeal. Although the court did reduce the fine to $78 million.
Monsanto and Bayer WILL be sued out of existence. There are still 13,000 lawsuits pending against Monsanto for glyphosate. Problem is, that could take forever!!! In the meantime, glyphosate is still being used in many countries. Glyphosate should be banned immediately worldwide. This documentary only discussed Mr. Johnson's case. There was another high profile case recently concluded where Monsanto was found guilty and was fined $2 Billion (yes BILLION). How many more times does Monsanto need to be prosecuted before their evil chemical is eliminated from the face of the earth? BONUS: Once glyphosate is gone, you can say goodbye to most genetically engineered food crops as well. Most GE crops were developed for the purpose of being resistant to glyphosate.
@dsndicmsa Glyphosate is a herbicide, not a pesticide. Btw, conventional pesticides are not used in organic growing. You have no credibility.
Isn't it nice how her co workers ignored her concerns about a toxic chemical, instead of putting a stop to it, they ignored her. Why would the assumption by anyone using a chemical that kills a form of life ever be that the chemical is harmless to me? Havent we seen these things enough times to realize all pesticides, herbicides and insecticides are probably dangerous to humans and take every precaution while handling them?
Has your doctor ever prescribed antibiotics for you? That would be a good example of chemicals killing a life form that is living inside of you. If you ever get get pneumonia trust me when I say you will be damn glad to get the chemical azithromycin killing the Streptococcus pneumoniae.

I'm curious if there has been studies into how this effects the food we eat that they spray this on... Sure we wash our fruits and veggies but their skin is porous like ours and also that which is mixed into the water in the ground is soaked up by the roots. We learn that in elementary school science
There is a documentary on RUclips that Australia has made about Round-up in food and soil and how, even if you wash your fruits and veggies that was sprayed with Round-up, the chemical compound still remained in the food.
Same thing with the soil. The Round-up poison can still be found in the soil 10 years afterward.
So we're pretty much screwed.

They don't spray roundup on growing crops. It is used to prep fields before planting seeds. Roundup is a post-emergent non-selective herbicide which does not have a residual effect. I can spray a lawn heavily with roundup , wait one or two weeks then plant fresh grass seed. The new grass grows back with no problem even though the area was treated with roundup 7-14 days before

@@toddtempleton9321 Yes they do, an additional spray of roundup is sprayed right before harvest to dry the crops, that method has been in use since the 90s.

The first time I had seen the advertisement to spray weeds on sidewalks, I knew I would never use this product. I have never used this product. Here it is many decades later.

I don't know a lot about Monsanto and its product round-up, but what i do know is that farmers around here in rural Ontario want nothing to do with round-up, i trust my local farmers i will take their word for it

Hard to say really but i would say pesticides well a least the history of pesticide's is probably worse. Chemicals used in WW1 were discovered because of trying to find pesticides for field's. Herbicides are not much better though. Agent orange etc

What if ? I feel compelled to put this out there and perhaps save someone. A cousin male 30 years old and an Aunt 50 years old both died of that disease.
The only common denominator was that they both lived in homes completely surrounded by orchards just miles from each other. Now I live completely surrounded by orchards.
On many occasions I have felt the wet mist on my body from the spraying even when the spaying is occurring on the outskirts. Any wind makes it real bad.
We always run for the house when we feel it or see the machine coming. Those fine particles coat everything because when it drys everything is white.

I have noticed that Roundup is being sent off to poor or subdued counties. Venezuela would have been sprayed with copious amounts; but I don't think there would have been much of a safety plan.

Yes Monsanto is pure evil, but there are other bigger issues within peoples self control they'd be better off focusing their efforts on.
