Jeff, Lucy sings like songs were meant to be sung. Never come storming in but enter gently leaving the audience wanting more and by the third verse or bridging she is in full flow and she knows how to increase the power when necessary. I am approaching 80 and I am dearly hoping that for the rest of my days there will always be Lucy Thomas.
Jeff I had the immense pleasure of seeing Lucy’s first ever solo public concert and by sheer luck sat next to Lucy’s mum Louise as she watched her daughters get several standing ovations (yes Martha joined her for two duets) 17 songs in total, including four we haven’t seen videos for yet. I can honestly say every song was performed to perfection, often with just piano accompaniment. Everyone needs to see Lucy perform live (she doesn’t just ‘sing’) great reaction as always btw!
My first time hearing this wonderful artist's voice. To me and surely to others she has a "signature" voice I will recognize the next time I hear her! Beautifully delivered to us Lucy!

I discovered Lucy, and her sister, Martha, on your RUclips channel and have watched all her videos using headphones. The singing is clearer with headphones when compared to using bookshelf speakers and a woofer. Her voice is extraordinary with a pitch and range that few singers display covering songs. Lucy takes an existing song and makes it hers with the vocal arrangements.
Great reaction to surely one of the best female singers in the world today. Yes her vibrato is really incredible, but so is her tone, pitch, breath support, you name it, it's Perfect. More Lucy please, she really is something special.

Then in quite a few of her renditions she collects it all and comes back to a light pleasant last few notes which for some reason is where I get a deep gut reaction and the chills and tears are guaranteed at that point if not already already evident. As you said, the opening pulls us in. This is where a lot of reactors say "WOW!" sometimes after only a word or two of the lyrics. Plus as I have commented before (along with you), her vibrato is perfect, amazing, astonishing, and any other superlative you can think of. I'm hoping they put out a DVD with her Manchester concert.
Jeff, I totally agree with you about Lucy's vibrato. It is so perfect it kind of drills right through my heart. The very first time I ever watched Lucy was her rendition of Hallelujah. Her vibrato trails off sustained and perfectly at the end of each verse. And when she hits her mid-range with some power to it, her vibrato really stands out. Fantastic and as you said 'Master Class'.

Jeff, I have more about Lucy. Another reactor has something she calls a Lucyism; something unique Lucy does. In the first verse it was most noticeable at the phrase "used to be". it is a head bounce. Every now and then you will see this head bounce; kind of cute and distinctive. There are a few other times in this piece when she does it a bit but the one mentioned is the most noticeable. She does it quite often if you're watching for it. Of course I also have more on her vibrato (which is one thing that really drew me to Lucy). There are times when she hits the note, brings in the vibrato, then straightens it out ending the vibrato, and the accurate key follows tight through. When she attacks the note (on key), brings in the vibrato which seems to me to undulate perfectly centered, then trails off the vibrato and she is still on key. Outstanding. Sorry for the redundant sentence.
Jeff, it's me again. About the head bounce that Lucy has. I re watched to make sure I picked the correct phrase where she does it (i did). But I just noticed that you kind of mimicked it with your own head bounce. Of course, I see that's the way you keep time with the music too. Me, it's my foot but lots of reactors move in time with the music. IMHO it shows how deep music goes into someones soul. Me, it's the foot (and my humming along), some it's the head or even the whole body swaying. Just a silly observation but this very senior citizen who cannot my guitar any more (arthritis) can still feel and notice when other's have music deeply rooted.

All the great leaders, teachers and friends you feel you can't live without - tend to have that abiity. Who would leave home without it - if they have it? LOL And, before someone with an astute and questioning mind asks, "Don't you mentor women?" The answer is no, I don't, I have wonderful friends who are female but I am not aware of any mentors of women - who do the type - at the level I do do it - with men when it comes to transfering knowledge. Why? Because "a man's gotta know his limitations"! as a wise man of inestimable policing proclivitives once entoned. Actually - the reason is that men's minds are totally different - than women's minds - as compatible as an Apple OS is with Windows. Men are infinitely more pragmatic and devoted to empiracal reality as opposed to living by the code of "Feelings, nothing more than feelings"... LOL And - now youse knows!
