She is truly beyond operatic singing, and beyond herself in the progression of this melody. She makes this song sound like a heavenly march sung through time and space by a concerned angel. And it's all happening right here on the surface of our earth. What a privilege for us is to be made part of this musical birth, this musical miracle. Please young lady, stay on the path you've chosen!
Amazing and the best scientific analysis !! Lucy is a once in a generation singing prodigy. Her voice, tone, pitch, range and delivery is absolutely outstanding !
Obviously, someone of this woman's caliber, professionally trained, like Lucy, can simply be blown out of the universe at EVERY nuance of Lucy's perfect vocal command.......folks, you don't see someone of this magnitude of flawless performances with EVERY performance she does, with the fire, passion, and emotion to make you 'feel' what she is singing. She'll tap into your heart and soul and take you on a gentle ride........along with a box full of tissues!
All of my teenage years were in the sixties so music has always been a huge part of my life. I am now approaching my mid seventies and I have to say that Lucy’s cover of ‘Hallelujah’ is probably the most beautiful thing I have heard in my lifetime. She recently did a cover of Aerosmith’s’ I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ and for an 18 year old to cover such an iconic rock ballad and do it to such perfection is quite mind - blowing. She is a unique talent in my opinion. I would like to add that this is the most informative and professional analysis I have heard after watching dozens of reaction videos. Beautifully presented and so enlightening. Thank you for posting it.
Ironically enough her Aerosmith cover was the one cover she did I wasn't overly keen on I mean she did ok enough with it but I just don't think it suited her voice as much as others she has recorded. I totally share your sentiments though she's outstanding!
Thanks goodness for digital music.I've listened to this performance by Lucy so many times I would have gone through dozens of records. A couple of nights ago I watching the video of Lucy doing the song "Memories" from Cats. I think she was 13 or 14 when she did it. Anyway this last time when I watched it I had full body goose bumps. Never before had them on my back and legs but I was in ecstasy. This young lady is God's gift to those of us who can't sing, can't play an instrument can't whistle or hum, can't dance or even keep cadence. But God, can we listen with our whole heart and soul. I'm 82 and am so grateful that Lucy came about while I'm still above ground.
Lucy was 15 almost 16 when she sang MEMORIES !!!! You can tell when her music was posted by go into the heading statement and where it says 'SHOW MORE" click on it and up at the start of the heading the date comes out. Lucy was born Feb 21 2004.....
I won't pretend to understand all the phrasing you use, but the joy you express facially and verbally are so exquisite. I learn not just by listening, but by witnessing your reactions. Priceless!
Lucy Thomas has filled my life with chills and tears. She is remarkably unique and amazing. I love all her songs especially with her little sister Martha that they did together called... "You Raise me up" the way they harmonize Wow! Powerful!
I’ve watched your analysis several times the past year. I love the excitement in your voice while breaking down Lucy’s voice. As for myself, and, I’m sure, many others who have listened to her sing, we just know what we like, as she is the Queen of Song. All hail the Queen. 👑
Hallelujah is such an iconic song and has been covered so, so many times. Lucy's version is quite remarkable and I continue love her voice. There is great talent that does not dominate the Billboard charts that has found an audience on RUclips. Please buy their music, you will not regret it.
Amazing. What's most incredible to me, with her and other great singers, is not just the skill and talent and technique itself. It's when she has all that down so well that she can just go ahead and play with it. It's not just separate techniques that she has to focus on, but just like her nature, and it lets her just go into the song.
@@DebbieTDP Lucy has 5 original songs written for her, you obviously are not aware of, Dress Rehearsals are BROKEN DREAMS........STARLIGHT.....SUDDENLY......GENTLE BREEZE.....And a studio of her first ONE DAY .... And many of her covers are movie or musical cover keeping older classical songs alive. Very few singers sing all original songs. Whitneys song I will Always Love YOU was NOT her song, it was written by Dolly Pardon and licensed to whitney, Dolly made 10 Million dollars on that deal!!! So whats the deal ???? Show me a better technical or skillful singer than Lucy Thomas !!!
@@wilburfinnigan2142 I don't care about skills. I need emotions. I don't get any from this girl. Yes I know about the deal/affaire Dolly Whitney... and don't care about that either. 🤷🏻
@@DebbieTDP Debbie, the Charismatic Voice was blown away by Lucy! This is a professional vocal coach who was literally stunned and said 'I got shivers on that' multiple times! Uh............that's called 'emotions' and Lucy sings every song with intense passion and emotions........if you listen to 10 Lucy performances and you feel NO emotions whatsoever.........then you're in a coma.........
@@briankrames1883 that's what you think. Not everyone gets the "chicken skins" for/from the same things. But I'm alive and kicking don't worry 🤫😁. I don't base my liking on Elizabeth's liking, sorry 😐 Yet still don't go crazy about this girl, she's no Janis Joplin nor Amy Winehouse. I wonder if you have ever heard of Dimash Kudaibergen?!! 🤌🏻 He's skills and emotions... and not so many covers. Be well 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Lucy is a phenom! Love so many things about her vocal abilities, but didn't know how to express the wonderful nuance and complexity of her voice. This great vocal professional analyzed Lucy with such technical proficiency that, while not understanding all her vocal points, clearly was amazed by Lucy's abilities and backed up what her fans already feel and know: Lucy is a phenom! 💚
Elizabeth! Lucy Thomas, you have to hear her sing..., "The Way We Were"! Seemingly effortlessly natural & crisply smooth to her. I'm being blown away of what I've been discovering of her!!! Wow!
Your review made me very happy. I have been enjoying her version of the song for a long time and I knew I liked it, but I couldn't explain why. Hearing your thoughts and seeing that they match my own feelings about the song makes me proud of her and confident in my own ability to recognize good music. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Lucy has been inmy ears for many months. Her vocal instantly grabs you. You should also listen to the duet with her younger sister. Thank You for analyzing her voice.
Lucy is indeed Amazing but, So are you !!! Thankyou for your wonderful critiques and insight into the stellar artists you share ...Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays !!!
I’m with you! The most amazing voice EVER!! Her version of Hallelujah is the best, it’s just out of this world! I could listen to it whole day, every day!
That's just your taste. She sings well but I'm not keen on her timbre, being that of a light lyric soprano. She's overtly polished and does not have the power pipes of Whitney Houston...and for that matter, never will. Alexandra Burke has a more rounded, pleasing sound, IMO.
Lucy sings like an angel would sing...thank you so much for your sharing this and your fantastic analysis! This is one of the best I've seen on this channel, and I'm a rocker to the bone.
I enjoyed your reaction to Lucy. For me Lucy is the most angelic voices I have heard in a long time. Please do some more of her music. Her sister and here do some great duets.
Lenord Cohen's "Hallelujah" has become one of the standards I use to evaluate vocalists, particularly the way they treat the "Hallelujah,s" Lucy's Hallelujah at 6:30 is nothing less than than ethereal her overall performance is next level.
One thing I’ve always liked about her performances is the fact I can actually understand her words. I can’t say the same thing for a lot of performers. I don’t have a lot songs on my personal playlist, but she is on it.
I just found this extraordinary singer today. I think the texture of her voice, her ability to sound wonderful in all registers, and the absolute control and discretion are just a few of the qualities that I admire. She is as good as any female singer I have ever heard. This much talent at this age is hard to imagine.
I've been listening to Lucy Thomas for about three months now and I don't believe I've heard even one song that I really didn't like. Karen Carpenter (RIP) was my favorite for so long, but now I feel Lucy has taken her place. Sometimes I just sit and listen to her and her sister, Martha. Martha, I think, is destined to follow in Lucy's footsteps.
Martha has a lovely voice but she isn't as impressive as Lucy was even at her age, she lacks the power and richness of tones. I do love their harmonies though and Louise their mum has a beautiful sultry tone.
Yes! I love Lucy Thomas's covers, and it's been really cool watching her talent grow along with her in the past two or three years since I first saw one of her videos.
Highly recommend you analyze the duet of “you raise me up” she performs with her sister. Lucy’s control and pitch are astounding and clear. The emotional bond Lucy and her sister express through that song is very powerful. Definitely worth the deep dive
I just hope that if they continue, that they do so for the love of it, and not because they feel pressured to do so. Even beauty such as that should not HAVE to happen. It should not be an obligation, in my opinion. I would hate to hear that they burn out because of that, or young Miley similarities.... 😢 That said, I have no doubt that they could make it all the way to the top, and I hope they love every minute of it! 🥰
Oh, wow! First time hearing Ms. Thomas. Incredible! You talked of comparison, and I couldn't help hearing a young Whitney Houston in the way she traveled all over. So, I went to her channel and low and behold, she has a cover of "I Will Always Love You"... whoa! You get to see her play on those scales even more as well as the way she records these videos, you get to see all those deliberate mouth movements. I'm in awe of this young woman. Thanks you for bringing her to even more🤘
Whoa! Yeeees! HUGE fan of Steven Tyler, and I LOVE this song. She KILLS it! And it's not a copy of the original, she had her own twist and it's perfect. Next analysis? 😏 ruclips.net/video/z_di6262CDE/видео.html&feature=shares
William Lucy has owned Whitney on every song she has sung that whitney sang because lucy is a better technical singer and can sing the high notes without screaming them as whitney does. Lucy has reach without the screech !!!!
All Lucys songs are beautiful, you have to react to Broken Dreams an original by Chris Broom, and Suddenly and Starlight and others, also duets with Martha her little sister turned 13 last month
I'm sure Chris you already knew how amazing Lucy is. 😉 'Rosie' musical will be a huge success for both you and Lucy. 👍👍 Can't wait to go watch it. 🙂 'Broken Dreams' is super song. Love it!
The first thing I heard from Lucy was her Snow Patrol hit cover 'Run' which she sang as a 10 year old.Even then, I recognized the incredible potential in her voice.Since then, she has not disappointed me once.Lucy always reminds me a bit of Floor... there is something in her voice that immediately takes me emotionally on a journey. And when she sings a duet with her little sister Martha, I always need tissues.Thank you for giving this diamond a chance, and I would be very happy to see many more of your reactions to Lucy.
I love love love Lucy. I have been following her for years. She is incredibly talented. A true star. She also duets with her sister Martha. When they sing The Prayer it raises goosebumps
She is an Angel who is among us. She has such a gift I've been listening to her for a few years now, and she always delivers a mind-blowing performance. Always Amazing, when she sings with her sister, you get two Angels making a Miracle. always thank you Lucy, Thank You CharismaticVoice.
My God, I have no idea what Elizabeth is talking about - but I love to listen to her anyway. This young singer is brilliant... as is Elizabeth! Well done, both of you! 👏👏👏👏
My Lady, Your reaction videos mesmerize me. There is a clarity of thought AND feeling expressed in your comments that are captivating. You have an incredible ear and a truly remarkable way of expressing what you hear.
Lucy is the epitome of a talented young singer that has learned breath control. Young singers should take note, if you want to rise to the top, learn to breath.
Wow I have listened to this song a lot but when I watch your reaction to it and your facial expressions I tear up. This is the most beautiful version of hallelujah I have ever heard.
Brilliant deconstruction of Lucy's voice Elizabeth. I have followed Lucy intently for many years watching her grow from an amazing young girl into an incredible young woman. Her talent has always been there to hear and always way beyond her tender years. Just when you think she can get no better, she blows you out of the water again with her next video. I can't claim to understand half of what you said, yet you put into perfect words everything I see and hear when watching Lucy sing!
Once again, Elizabeth hits the three points that make this an amazing channel: her knowledge and enthusiasm for music, and her reactions to things that catch her by surprise.
@Hugh Jarse TRUE but at least Elizabeth explained why Lucy is so great !!! So many of these reactors have no clue on music, this woman does and explains why, something to be learned from her. IF you just want to listen to Lucy go for it and listen to her post or buy her CD and have at it !!! And if you had LISTENED to either Elizabeth or norahc you would have LEARNED something about music and why Lucy is so great !!
You are so good explaining the different nuances of her voice. I really enjoyed this and all the technical things you pointed out. I love Lucy! She IS and WILL continue to blow minds all around the world! Thank you for doing this video. [[ May I suggest listening to Lucy and her sister Martha do "The Prayer"? They have the best harmonies I have ever heard, and Martha is 5 yrs younger then her sister. It is so worth listening to them sing together. ]] 💜
I said this on her original video but i will say it again here. Most artists oversing this song by throwing in licks and runs as much as possible. However Lucy respects the melody and the meaning and sing with a lot of maturity here
She knows her ability and potential, but knows she doesn't need to use it with this song. She just lets it come out as she feels it and it is perfection.
Thank you for that fantastic analysis of Lucy's voice. I nearly didn't watch this, but I am so glad I did. I don't know whether you have watched more of Lucy's songs, but even at 14, she had a superb voice. Slightly off point, but it won't do her future career any harm at all, that she is also incredibly pretty.
I've been waiting for months for this reaction and well worth the wait may I say, I've watched a few reactions now of Lucy's rendition & of course all of high praise but only you Elizabeth have highlighted that special part towards the end of the 2nd section where Lucy blends her own stamp on to it superbly which gives you shivers & tingles & yes your honest face reactions never disappoint, I'll take this opportunity to wish you & Lucy & both your families a merry Christmas & a happy new year, take care & love to you both ❤️
I have become familiar with Lucy's covers in the past several months and am so very impressed with her voice and maturity for someone so young! Her voice is stunningly beautiful and I can't wait to see where she goes. Please do more reactions of this brilliant up-and-coming young talent. I love your channel! 🎄❄️💙☃️
Watching you experience a singers beautiful voice the first time like this is so enjoyable. The way you explain it and break it down is so interesting.
For every video I've seen from her (her whole YT channel in fact), I've never been disappointed by her performances. I could even add, I have a lot of chills down my spine given by her voice. She deserve evrery spotlights of every theater stages.
I stumbled across this yet again. This is what set me off listening to that and sharing it with lots of people. I'm a long time Leonard Cohn fan and of course multiple KD Lang performances of this are iconic. But there's something about this that is amazing. And it was your analysis that really opened me up to something that I'm not sure that I liked the setting of it and kind of the overall initial ambience. But damn, I've fallen in love with it and to hear you break it down again and watch it just like I am getting Goosebumps at times, it's really really a great thing. I am so glad I found your channel a few years ago. It's one of the best things on RUclips I am convinced.
Wow! I had heard of Lucy Thomas but didn't know anything about her. Fantastic. I fell in love with her voice during the first phrase. And I would also point out that what she does with her facial expressions and her subtle upper body gestures, how she is so composed but it is so spot on. To let you know that she's not messing around, even though she can be really pretty when she wants to. But there's also a good bit of humility mixed in there and it's like she's nodding to the audience, like we understand each other don't we? I'm going to be checking more of this out for sure. And as always, love love your breakdowns. As a musician, and somewhat of a singer, it's just a great level to do it on and I love how you go back and point out things and we get to hear something three or four times. It's just like in practice; that's exactly we do it, isn't it? It resonates with me so much.
@@bradgannon4412 well the first thing I went and did was I read in another comment here about a sister duet with you lift me up. And that's not really a song that I've ever liked in fact it's the kind of stuff that I would turn off if it came on. As a musician and a songwriter I recognize that it's a really solid song and it means a lot to a lot of people, but seriously growing up, if that kind of thing came on I would turn it away to something else. But oh my god. That just blew me away. I had to watch it three times in a row. I mean in my allergies acted up that's how poignant that was. And then what was my next thing oh yeah I'm a huge Elvis Presley fan and then it showed me her cover of I can't help falling in love with you. One of the great classic songs of all time. And I know it's not his son but I liked his version the best. She killed it. She's just amazing. And her sister is awesome as well!
Love the way you broke down her vocals and explained in real terms what I heard. When I first heard this it was incredible and she had around 170,000 hits on You Tube and immediately knew it would hit 10,000,000 views and I did tell her that. Now she has over 27,000,000 views and onward into music history. All of her covers on You Tube have garnered millions of views since. She is staring in Rosie The Musical set to premiere in 2024 and they are thinking a movie Musical maybe. Please do more reactions possibly of Lucy and Martha, her sister. You'll be even more amazed.
Yes she has a beautiful voice. Talented girl. She has the ability to pull emotions out of her audience as she sings. She’s gonna be one to watch. Her voice is so sweet and I’d listen to her over Adele anytime. She has a warmth in her voice that very few people have. Freya Ridings- lost without you. Beautiful voice and kind of unique. Live at st pancras old church she does an amazing job.
Loved you enthusiastic and educated analysis on this fantastic cover. I have been following Lucy for a while her voice is amazing. Like to see more analysis of other Lucy covers like run to you and also the ones she has done with her much younger sister Martha. The prayer is incredible!
Reading the comments, i think that a lot of viewers did not understood that the video is not about the song but about the singer. You could have done the same video with any other song sang by Lucy. It is not important if someone's thinks that an other singer did a better cover. What was important, was to check , feel, the talent and potential of Lucy. I can say you did a great job about it 🥰👍Thank you👍
Anthony That is so right !! So many reactors have no clue about singing or the song or the singer and the net result is either speechless, or that was good, there are a couple that give the song history, and then just say that was good and some will play a song with NO info or wrong info on the singer and then start comparing to other singers, seemingly forgetting who they are reacting to. This gal tells you why although she appears to know little about Lucy...
I do not know much, if anything about singing. I have no singing voice, though it does not stop me from singing when I am alone or at church. 😁 This video is too high for me in understanding it all, though very facinating to me. I did, however, realize that this video ideas about Lucy and not the song.
Whoa!! You have over a million subscribers now!! Awesome!! Haven’t been here in a few and I just knew you would get here!! Very cool. 😎 This young woman has spectacular vocal and physically expressive dynamics. She fills the story very well. Outstanding rendition. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Jeff Buckley's version is astounding and his tragic end adds more melancholy to the song. Another legend that left us way too soon. I always tear up and get goosebumps when I hear Jeff's version...and the guitar is superb too.
I love Jeff's version and Grace is one of my favourite albums of all time but for me this version of Hallelujah by Lucy is even better then his legendary rendition.
To put it in layman's terms, she can slip in and out of falsetto seamlessly. Amazing. Plus watching the video, Lucy really performs this piece with her body language. Also, while typing this, her marvelous vibrato jumped out at me. As you can tell, I'm a Lucy fan.
Thank you for your analysis of this amazingly talented young lady. I always enjoy your reactions, not only for how very in depth and informative they are, but also for your genuine enjoyment and appreciation of the artists and their performances.
Elizabeth, you have joined a number of reactors and analysts who utter WOW, sometimes before the first phrase or line is finished. I have been watching Lucy for some time now and agree with all the nuances in her voice that you discovered. Many of her songs/videos give me tears and chills. And as you mentioned her breath control is amazing. I also really love how perfect and pleasing her vibrato is. Glad you discovered her.
WOW…What a voice for a young person. If you couldn’t see her you would never be able to tell her age. I liked the way you went back & forth so we could hear parts again. An excellent video & review.
*_I am so glad you listened to Lucy Thomas. Hallelujah was first song I heard her perform too._* "Hallelujah" is not an easy song to perform, but Lucy delivers it gift wrapped to us. She makes it sound 'easy' but we both know it is quite the opposite. When I first heard Lucy sing this song, I nearly fell out of my chair. I have over a decade singing and acting experience and I have never heard this song performed this way. I had to play it over and over to be sure my eyes and ears weren't tricking me. I was immediately struck how much control she has of her vocals. She does things with her mouth that changes depth and tone of sounds she is mouthing. I have never seen anyone do it this well. Lucy's vocal maturity is such that you expect a much older vocalist performing. Her breathing technique is also amazing, have never seen or heard her take a breath. At times, I want to take a breath for her during really long holds. Her vibrato is also amazing. She can hold it to plus or minus a 1/4 note, regardless of pitch, volume, or length of hold, including when mouthing sounds. Lucy normally does her own backing vocals. I am not sure if she did in this song or not. In other songs, her skills to harmonize with herself is obvious. I am not sure what her vocal range is, but she is equally powerful over a wide range. I have heard she has a 5 octave range. Her ability to go from chest voice to head voice is so transparent that most people never hear it. By the time Lucy is transitioning towards the crescendo, it is obvious this performance is anything but dull. Lucy's vocal talent is amazing. But when she adds her physical delivery performance, it adds so much to the overall song. Lucy's 'trademark' is 1 microphone, 1 camera, 1 take start to finish. It is as though Lucy is singing a solo to you in your living room. She never rushes, she always delivers. More remarkable is that Lucy always does next song better than last. Listeners connect with Lucy's music at a deep and personal way. They become emotionally invested and become part of the song. She uses her eyes, hands, mouth, head, body which adds a personal connection to her listeners. There are many channels that 'review' music. Yours is one that dives deep into the actual performance. Most channels use 'subjective' terms when reviewing Lucy's music. They like a song because they like it. You use your background and experience and use Objective terms. I am same way and can easily post a whole page on why she sounds so good and why people love her music so much. You are 2nd channel using the word 'Prodigy' to describe Lucy Thomas. I understand she has been singing since age 7. She has both classical and performance training. Her first video was age 9 and second video at age 10. She waited until she was 14 for the Voice Kids - UK. She made finals, but didn't win. Lucy got something 100 times better than a trophy... she got signed to major record label. She just finished her 4th album. *_Thank you again for this review of Lucy Thomas performing Hallelujah. The "Charismatic Voice" has spoken._*
@Thomas Woodward Thank you for the comment. Both us agree Lucy has been given a gift and she is using it wisely. Fame has not gone to her head. She didn't rush out and get tattoos all over her body. Didn't rush out and get a dozen piercings. Didn't rush out and dye her hair purple. Didn't get arrested, doesn't smoke drink, or take drugs. She reads EVERY comment on her posts. She always puts a 'heart' next to the ones she has read. She even answers many comments personally. How she has time for thousands of comments is beyond me. Probably doesn't sleep much. Our British Prodigy is an amazing living example of Prim and Proper. A wonderful role model for her younger sister and her younger fans.
@Thomas Woodward Thanks for sharing. I have a decade of singing and acting. When I react to videos I use an objective based description, nut and bolts, what makes song and singer special. I met another Brit several weeks ago on another Lucy Thomas song. I said Wigan / Manchester is in between Liverpool (Beatles) and Sheffield (Def Leppard). Must be something special in the drinking water for all these top talents to be so amazingly good. He said he lives in Sheffield and knows Wigan very well. We had a good laugh. Loved Tom Jones, I forgot he was British. So many great talents in all genres in the UK. I have highest respect for the Prim and Proper. Last year I started the process to get an audience with the Queen Mother. I knew her time was short. I wanted Lucy to have an opportunity to sing for the Queen. It was meant to be a surprise for Lucy. It was too late. Should have started earlier. I did tell Lucy and she was really touched that anyone would do that for her.
@Thomas Woodward We have much in common. After I graduated from high school, I went to enlist in Marines. My draft number was low enough to cause concern. I picked Marines to become a Cobra Gunship Pilot. It was a lengthy process, which I had already started when I turned 18. Long story short, War ended in 73. I was told all returning Marines had first pick of Piloting needs. I stayed in college, got 3 degrees, served in other ways. I sang and acted through high school and college. After that I sang in churches. I tried Rock in Seattle in the 80's. I found out that my years of singing A cappella and classical training was a lot different than singing Rock. I also tried my hands at playing the drums. Was part of several 'garage' bands. One eventually got a record deal with RCA and they moved to Los Angeles. I miss singing and acting. Want to start again and trying to find the time. Also spent time behind mixing boards, did equipment setups, backstage security, helped manage the smaller band. I like music in multiple genres. From classical ensembles, jazz, pop country, classic rock, progressive rock, glam rock, and even some metal rock. Some bands that influenced me over the years; Def Leppard, AC/DC, Journey, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, even Metalica. Vocalists like Bon Jovi, Steve Perry, Josh Groben, Joe Elliot, Brian Johnson, Richard Marx, and more. It's good to have dreams and goals. Maybe some of us old timers can form a group. That would be awesome.
I truly believe she's incredible! And your analysis was extremely informative and insightful. Thank you. I certainly hope lucky gets to see this amazing video analysis.
Whilst Lucy's later releases show how she is developing wonderfully, the promise shines through even in some of her earliest recordings, such as "Listen" and "She Used To Be Mine" (for example). She is utterly amazing! The duets with her much younger sister Martha (by ~5 years) are also lovely and Martha's voice is amazing too for someone so young.
Tom, I agree; Lucy's earlier performances don't get the views they should! "Beauty and the Beast" and "Mulan" are 2 examples of her fantastic range and perfect control of her lower register; both done at the age of 15........and they're both masterpieces with beautiful emotion and passion in every note she sings, fantastic!
When I first heard her version, I was hooked, listened to it 8 times a day.....bought her CDs....adding her sister was Beautiful....as well.....AWESOME !!!
Thank you Elizabeth for this excellent reaction to Lucy Thomas. I like how well trained and knowledgeable you are technically about the voice as an instrument. Through your extensive knowledge, you are able to see and hear the nuisances that most are oblivious to. I have been a fan of Lucy's for a few years now and watched her blossom from a 14 year old into today's 18 yr old phenomenally gifted singer with the voice of an angel. All the songs she's performed are incredibly beautiful. As a bonus, she has a very talented younger sister. Check out their Duet "When You Believe". It will certainly impress you.
Thank you for listening to Lucy's version of this and for the wonderful analysis. I look forward to hearing where she goes in the years to come. I can't see it going anywhere but to a superb career with her voice. I enjoy listening to you and I look forward to hearing more from you as well!
Lucy Angelic voice. This version of Hallelujah is the bestone I ever heard.. She have beautiful tone quality, also talented young singer. She can sing any song's and makes it her own song's. Thank You for the reaction about Lucy Thomas.
Lucy Thomas, fantastic job singing this iconic song. Fantastic voice! K.D. Lang's live version at the Juno awards in April 2003 was the absolutely best rendition of the song. Leonard Cohen was in the crowd and even said that it was the perfect performance of this song. The funny part Is, Ms. Lang wasn't even supposed to perform that night. She was a fill in for Neil Young who canceled last minute.

Graham YES !!! Lucy did a STUNNING performance of that song as she does with all she performs !!
P
I have reacted to Lucy the same way, but I am only 80. I'll keep on listening to her as long as I can.
Powerful!
I have to hear Lucy and Angelina Jordan daily and many times for hours per day, 2 of the best singers on Earth
@@robertwhite6248 I agree...
Her sister is awesome also, and I believe she is only 13 or 14❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️‼️
I can’t get enough of her voice!
This is the BEST analysis of Lucy singing this song I have ever heard. Fantastic!!
Yes it is :)
Lucy is a true gem. Her entire catalog of songs is amazing.
Catalogue of covers... 🤷🏻🤫
I don't base my liking on Elizabeth's liking, sorry 😐
Yet still don't go crazy about this girl, she's no Janis Joplin nor Amy Winehouse.
I wonder if you have ever heard of Dimash Kudaibergen?!! 🤌🏻 He's skills and emotions... and not so many covers.
Be well
👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Blows me every time, both the reaction and the performance.
Lucy is indeed Amazing but, So are you !!! Thankyou for your wonderful critiques and insight into the stellar artists you share ...Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays !!!
Lucy's voice, like heaven, simply defies description.
I think Lucy Thomas is incomparable. There is no voice I've ever heard in 73 years that I'd rather hear than hers.
Michael and I am with you but for 81 years !!!
I’m with you! The most amazing voice EVER!! Her version of Hallelujah is the best, it’s just out of this world! I could listen to it whole day, every day!
@@anchika7837 ever heard of Dimash?!? 🤭
I'm not that old, but I do agree. Her and her sisters The Prayer is better than Celine's version
That's just your taste. She sings well but I'm not keen on her timbre, being that of a light lyric soprano. She's overtly polished and does not have the power pipes of Whitney Houston...and for that matter, never will. Alexandra Burke has a more rounded, pleasing sound, IMO.
Very rare for a singer to be able to give me a physical shiver, head to toe, but Lucy just did it. A beautiful voice.
Lucy sings like an angel would sing...thank you so much for your sharing this and your fantastic analysis! This is one of the best I've seen on this channel, and I'm a rocker to the bone.
The best singers don't just sing. They create a mood or even a whole soundscape.
I don't understand all of the terminology and analysis...but to my ears she is perfection!
Love your analysis of artists performances... hope you do another Lucy Thomas soon!
OMG!!!! What a lovely voice and interpretation of this beautiful song. Pure golden silk.
Lucy's the only one on my playlist
GREAT LUCY !!!!
Who dosent love sweet beautiful Martha with those amazing harmonies and Lucy who is a superstar!
Martha has a lovely voice but she isn't as impressive as Lucy was even at her age, she lacks the power and richness of tones. I do love their harmonies though and Louise their mum has a beautiful sultry tone.
Lucy is AMAZING! So happy you’re listening to her.
Yes - I got the chills, shivers and WOW - when she starts to really belt out! Incredible.
Yes! I love Lucy Thomas's covers, and it's been really cool watching her talent grow along with her in the past two or three years since I first saw one of her videos.
Just hearing the first seconds of her gave me chills and goosebumps...she really has soul in her voice
I waited a long time to see you reacting to Lucy. I hope there will be a lot of more reactions to her👍🥰
I get tears every time I hear Lucy sing this song, she’s amazing!!❤❤❤❤
Highly recommend you analyze the duet of “you raise me up” she performs with her sister. Lucy’s control and pitch are astounding and clear. The emotional bond Lucy and her sister express through that song is very powerful. Definitely worth the deep dive
I would second that request !!! Beautiful song !!!
I'll third it. Really, any of the duets with Martha.
You Raise Me Up: ruclips.net/video/dU00EuczOiA/видео.html
Gold buzzer worthy. And for some, bring tissues!
You know it, that duet was Beautiful! So much talent in those 2 young Women.
I just hope that if they continue, that they do so for the love of it, and not because they feel pressured to do so. Even beauty such as that should not HAVE to happen. It should not be an obligation, in my opinion. I would hate to hear that they burn out because of that, or young Miley similarities.... 😢
That said, I have no doubt that they could make it all the way to the top, and I hope they love every minute of it! 🥰

Welcome to Lucy Thomas, enjoy 😊
William Lucy has owned Whitney on every song she has sung that whitney sang because lucy is a better technical singer and can sing the high notes without screaming them as whitney does. Lucy has reach without the screech !!!!
Thank you very much for your excellent analysis of Lucy's incredibly beautiful voice.
Lucy Thomas is such a wonderful talent and has so much potential. Super clear and beautiful timbre, she is always a pleasure to listen to.
This young woman has an astounding voice.
My God,
I have no idea what Elizabeth is talking about - but I love to listen to her anyway.
This young singer is brilliant... as is Elizabeth!
Well done, both of you!
👏👏👏👏
That one really touchted me. What a phantastic voice. I could cry for pure joy.
My Lady, Your reaction videos mesmerize me. There is a clarity of thought AND feeling expressed in your comments that are captivating. You have an incredible ear and a truly remarkable way of expressing what you hear.
One of the best female voices I have heard in a long time. She is stunning.
Lucy is the epitome of a talented young singer that has learned breath control. Young singers should take note, if you want to rise to the top, learn to breath.
David Lucy has been with the same voice coach since she was 7 years old and Lucy is 19 now !!!
I simply love ur analysis of Lucy's vocal talent which is Godsent gift no doubt.looking to see more of ur professional comment.tks u
Jazzed YES !!!! they are stunning !!!
Looking forward to hear yr
true, detailed fanastic comments again soon if possible. Really tkx for all yr true efforts!❤
Leonard Cohen's own favourite version was K D Lang. Who did it at the Junos and the Olympics. Both absolutely stunning performances.
My favourite too. K D has a voice like butter!
I'd love to see a react/analysis to her version. Even if that brings us into dangerous, repetitive territory.
My favorite too. Goosebumps.
Yes!! No one does it better than kd as per Leonard Cohen. :)
Agree totally. BUT - this is a great performance all the way, and for age 18 it is stunning.
Chills and more chills…..I listen to everything Lucy sings and still she gives me chills!
And Lucy beauty is NATURAL little makeup, some lipstick,,, Natural beauty !!!
This young lady is a sensation.
Thanks Elizabeth.
Happy Holidays to The Charismatic Voice! Thank you 🙏 for amazing music and content!
Welcome to Lucy Thomas, check out Lucy Thomas Music, enjoy😊
Lucy doesn't just sing a song she performs them !!!
I can say you did a great job about it 🥰👍Thank you👍
Right on Anthony !!!!
Bang on point Anthony
I think this cover ist her absolute masterpiece. I never ever heared such perfection. It is simply unbelievable that she was 16 yo doing this.
I do not know much, if anything about singing. I have no singing voice, though it does not stop me from singing when I am alone or at church. 😁 This video is too high for me in understanding it all, though very facinating to me. I did, however, realize that this video ideas about Lucy and not the song.
Amazing talent especially for someone so young, the duets with her sister Martha are equally amazing.
Whoa!! You have over a million subscribers now!! Awesome!! Haven’t been here in a few and I just knew you would get here!! Very cool. 😎
This young woman has spectacular vocal and physically expressive dynamics. She fills the story very well. Outstanding rendition. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Is one of the best versions I've heard She has a beautiful voice.
Tim THE BEST version !!!!
His version is my absolutely favourite, such an incredible voice!
I’m in tears.
Anyone's version pales before Jeff Buckley's for me.
@@adamknight7041 it is good. But I've lost that emotional thread towards the end.
To put it in layman's terms, she can slip in and out of falsetto seamlessly. Amazing. Plus watching the video, Lucy really performs this piece with her body language. Also, while typing this, her marvelous vibrato jumped out at me. As you can tell, I'm a Lucy fan.
That was a great analysis. “The amazing Lucy Thomas.” A star in the making !
Every so often God has a really good day and when He does, we get a Lucy Thomas. God bless her.
The Prayer - Sister Duet - Lucy & Martha Thomas Just amazing
Thank you for your analysis of this amazingly talented young lady. I always enjoy your reactions, not only for how very in depth and informative they are, but also for your genuine enjoyment and appreciation of the artists and their performances.
Incredibly talented young lady and your analysis of her voice was truly amazing.
Wow! Headng down the Lucy rabbit hole now!
Now you will have to review her cover of "I Will Aways Love You"- too... Simply stunning.
*_I am so glad you listened to Lucy Thomas. Hallelujah was first song I heard her perform too._*
"Hallelujah" is not an easy song to perform, but Lucy delivers it gift wrapped to us.
@Hugh Jarse LOL - thanks for the OTT (over the top) reply. Some Canadians can do better, they are all related to me.
*_Gotta love satire_*
Shes an angel send from above golden voice beautiful goose bumps this is unique she god giving talent pure as gold ❤❤
Her voice just resonates with my soul
This is One of the most Beautiful Voices I ever heard. ❤❤❤❤❤
Such an amazing voice, Her gift of range should easily land her many vocal job opportunities. Lucy is Amazing!
