I'm pretty sure "Rosie" along with Lucy are both going to be an international sensation. So hopefully you'll be able to see her perform it on Broadway. I understand she has 2 solo concerts lined up, the first one in Manchester UK and then one in Tokyo Japan. I do hope her sister Martha will join her in at least in her concerts that would be amazing.

If there is one single word that says it all here, Juliet, you found it. The word is “Masterclass” because that’s exactly what we witness when we listen to Lucy sing and whenever we listen to a song composed by Chris Broom. Two musical geniuses, executing their crafts to perfection. There are none better in either field, Lucy the vocalist and Chris the composer. Put them together and you have a musical match made in heaven which is why Rosie - The Musical will be the most beautiful musical theatre work ever to grace the stages of the world’s greatest theatres. Well that’s my opinion anyway, Juliet. Thank you so much for your insightful reaction and your support of Lucy and Chris and Rosie!
Incidentally, the name Lucy means 'Light Bringer', or 'Bringer of Light'. I couldn't think of a more fitting name for this angel.

Juliet the only excuse you need to see Rosie is that Lucy is the Star
Lucy is most likely the best female vocalist of this generation. World class! She is probably the 'music treasure' of this decade and maybe even this century. Lucy brings back the kind of singing that most people love. Her talent, ability, dedication and commitment is is evident in every song she sings. Lucy has already accomplished so much and has just turned 20 years old. She has done all this without the help of the sleepy mainstream media! If Lucy continues her career in theater and live performances, God willing, Lucy Thomas will go down in history as a legend, and celebrated as have been all the great ‘Divas’ of the past!
Wow. This song is a show stopping hit if ever I heard one. Chris Broom has pulled out all the stops with the music and orchestration which features stunning strings and inspiring French horns kicking in as the song reaches its climax. The lyrics speak to me on three levels, as the closing message of the story of Rosie the musical, as a message to individuals about being the person you are born to be and as a message to humanity that the world can change for the good if we set our collective minds to it. Then we come to the vocals. By her own incredibly lofty standards, Lucy has blown this one right out of the park. Standing ovations will be inevitable at the end of this much anticipated musical theatre masterpiece. Juliet, I am very excited to hear what you think about this. And just to confirm that this is definitely the closing song and climax in the musical.

I have to add one more comment about Lucy. Going back I listened to four other artist(s) who have recently performed "Evergreen," " Bridge Over Troubled Waters," "The Prayer," "A thousand Years," "Never Enough," and as good as they are, they are singing for you and not to you. Lucy looks into your soul when she sings. You are so right about the warmth in her voice. If I needed someone to sing to me to cheer me up, it would be Lucy Thomas. She soothes your soul.
I agree about not just singing for us but straight at us. Another reactor some time ago said: Some people 'sing' and some 'perform'. Lucy performs. I've been around for many moons and Lucy is very near the top of my all-time great singers. Nearly all her renditions are tearjerkers for me.
Great job on this Juliet. Dissecting Lucy's performance in such an intimate fashion just sets you apart from all the rest, just as Lucy's voice sets her apart from most others. Lucy simply has the "it" factor How can you not love her. It is from a couple of years ago but Lucy's cover of "At Last" (Etta James) is another great example of how flexible Lucy is in manipulating styles to fit the the esthetic of the song.

There is nothing forced about any of her singing ever - effortless but with warm vibrato, tone and resonance that give you tingles! 👏
I agree that this would seem to be the closing song, and I think the song and Lucy’s singing are both made for a standing ovation.

Just watched your analysis of this song and Lucy’s performance and, once again, your insights have added to my appreciation of the performance.
My wife and I will be flying from our home in New York to London to see Lucy’s performance. I think this play, Chris Broom’s writing and producing, and Lucy’s performance will place both of them on a fast track to international fame and recognition. Not that they aren’t already well known, but this play will add wings to their futures.
As a last point, I think your comment about just covering Lucy’s voice in a future episode is a great one. I would love to hear you more detailed insights. I’ve never been much of a music fan, but once I heard Lucy’s voice I became mesmerized and now can’t get enough of her singing (actually performances), and your insights that help me understand why what she does is so emotionally powerful.

As a follow up I should love to hear your reaction to Lucy’s version of a Whiter Shade of Pale. She uses her wonderful lower register for virtually the whole song, which I know you love, for virtually the whole song.

Your comment on her vibrato and the slow motion of her tongue was very interesting. It is her vibrato that really resonates with me. Yes our Wigan girly was born to be a star..very proud of her 💖💖💖💖 On Tuesday I will actually be at Lucy's very first public concert in Manchester it's going to be amazing...and for sure I will be getting tickets for Rosie as soon as they come out...Lucy is a national treasure...with a voice that would please the gods :):)
Ive been following the concert on facebook fans,David, and it went down very well indeed as you will know. Lots of Americans came over, and they were ecstatic im really glad it was a success. Im British by the way.

I said what’s below the 1st time I heard this song.
Wow- that was impressive. From the words to the music to that beautiful lady, Lucy, with the Golden voice.
This could be the standout equivalent to Never Enough from The Greatest Showman or One Day More from Les Mis. It’s the song that closes out the play.
And that wasn’t an easy song as there was very little repetition in the different stanzas.

I and about 400 others got to hear Lucy sing this and about 15 other songs live at the Stoller Hall in Manchester (including two duets with Martha) Lucy sounds phenomenal in studio recordings but is even better live! I also had the immense privilege to sit next to Lucy and Marthas mum as her daughters got several standing ovations.
Ahhh... I'm jealous!!! I cannot wait to see her in Rosie, live on stage! I'm hoping it's this year sometime. I'll be there, front and centre...
I wish I could have been there to relish those moments like you did. These sisters have no pier in this world since their heavenly magic continues to astound and grow with every duet. Hi Juliet. Wonderful reaction to Chris Brooms composition. Lucy performs another masterclass and this song is a great finale to the musical which I'm sure will have everyone on their feet. I agree with quite a few commentators here, that it would be interesting to get your reaction and analysis to "Memory" from Cats when Lucy was fifteen. To say her rendition of this song is a phenomenal, would be an understatement.

This song is probably my favourite song on the album, a difficult choice out of an album of favourites!
I love the way you analyse and put into words something that Lucy appears to perform with such ease. Mortals such as myself just bask in her excellence, without understanding exactly how she does it.
I wonder if some of what we hear is purely instinctive, or is it the result of lots and lots of rehearsal? I like to think it's the former.

The live performance of this song at the Manchester concert was incredible. You need to react to it Juliet. She's magnificent..Those low notes you like so much, really resonate around the hall. And at twenty years old, her voice is nowhere near it's peak. ??

Juliet, although this is the usual bust camera shot you can see Lucy reach behind her at one point. Her body language comes through. I also got a kick that you couldn't pause it. Another reactor (about Lucy also) did the same thing. I could see him reach for the pause but he couldn't do it. He continued to watch and admitted he couldn't pause. What magnetism Lucy can generate when people can't pause her video! 😂

Juliet, You can tell this is the final song. Getting closer to the end she power and volume really begins increasing. Then the last phrase of the song has a definite finality to it; so much so that I would expect the curtain to drop at the end. Lucy really gets into this last song.

Juliet, you are now the 3rd person to use the description "Master Class" regarding Lucy's technique. Her vibrato was called Master Class by another reactor along with telling us to go to her official video of "Evergreen" to see how to use vibrato. More and more are recognizing Lucy's talent. This is at 20 years of age. Look out! her audience is building to an eventual explosion.
Juliet, I heard you use the term 'master class' when referring to Lucy. Interestingly another reactor used the same description when speaking about her vibrato. He even advised checking out her original video (Evergreen) and learning from her perfect use of vibrato. So here's at least two reactors describing Lucy as master class. That's an honor for her.
Juliet watch it again. There is a long blonde hair girl behind the glass behind Chris. Could that be Martha? Because there are two singing voices Lucy's and one other and it does sound like Martha. What do think?
