Nice work! Speedway uses a front end like that in some of their their Model T kit cars, but uses a panhard bar to keep the front end from moving sideways in the frame, which could lead to oversteer if the bar is omitted. They have an add-on panhard bar kit with brackets in various lengths, suggesting one use the widest one that fits, to keep axle movement as close to vertical as possible. Purists will want the watts link, as it assures perfectly vertical axle movement in the frame, but there isn't always room. They have kits for that, too. These kits are all around $100. It looks like you may have room for a watts link. Rat Rod Bob has a '47 Ford truck in progress on you tube with a Watts link on the front. How much did you chop the cowl?
@@hdsglide96 ~ Thanks for the info on the cowl. I'm adapting a Jeep CJ-7 tub to my (6") slammed '27 T Speedway frame w/ '64 Corvette IRS. It has a four bar front end like yours, but with a panhard bar, and is straight from Speedway. I want to lower the seating height a lot, so I'll probably build a custom windshield frame where the glass comes right down to the cowl, to get better visibility, but may still chop the cowl about two inches. The donor jeep was a hunting car bought very cheap with 33" tires, and the axles were moved to be on top of the springs. This allowed so much more leverage that the leaf springs couldn't resist sideways deflection, leading to horrifying oversteer between 20 and 40 mph. It really needed a panhard bar. I would expect much less side deflection with your transverse leaf spring setup. I really like the look you're getting with your project.
If you look and my part to you can see that I did cut the inner fenders some inside the tub which allowed me to move my seats back several inches, the seats are not mounted in the video but are setting in the exact location. I will be building a short window frame as well
Oh 9" sorry didnt look back that far..shes beautiful.
Awesome.
Thank you bro
No problem, but for what lol

Thanks for the input bobo4691, I still have to do some front shocks as well, and I actually didn’t chop the cowl any
