      oh no, I hope the roots are okay! If the node is still good it will eventually push a new leaf in some time. I feel like scindapsus just take a really long time to grow 🥰

  • @patricialittle2607
    @patricialittle2607 Год назад +4

    Water and moss both do great for me. I've never used fluvel! The only thing with water you really have to keep them moist when you pot them up because those roots are so use to being in water. I have some scindapsus growing in water that I left in to long to pot! They look really cute so I'm just going to keep them like that, I add a little fertilizer to the water and their growing great.

    I love propagating in perlite! Aside from the dust (which isn’t a big deal especially if you do it outside) it’s so easy to manage the watering. I think water would probably produce roots the fastest though!

This is new to me and hoping that I don’t have to add another substrate to those I keep on hand, but if it makes a considerable difference I will. Thanks Melissa for sharing this experiment. especially after caring for it for a year. i know im being dramatic 😆. but I did it. now the wait to see if I did it right. I used the perlite method for the leafs and spaghuman moss for the emty wet sticks. wish me luck.

    Thanks for a fun video, Melissa!
    I’m thinking the following for order of fastest propagation substrates:
    1. Fluval Stratum
    2. Fluval, Moss & Perlite
    3. Perlite
    4. Moss
    5. Water
    Truly though, I think that it’ll be highly successful and pretty much a tie for all of the propagations under your attentive care. 🍃💚

  • @jacquelinedaniels87
    @jacquelinedaniels87 Год назад

    Question- does win also include transition to a permanent sub straight? Like they may root well in let’s say fluval, but transition like crap… sort of thing.. where on the moss concoction it could take longer to root but zero issue transitioning

  • @Luvsophiegurl

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  Год назад

      I'm so sorry that is happening! 🥹 Whenever I get rot I cut off all that I can and soak in a water and hydrogen peroxide mixture for about 30 min then repot into a fresh mix. If there's not enough roots then I usually root them in moss until they can grow more stronger ones.
