Oh I forgot to mention the thiccly poles have a 15% discount on amazon right now. They set up a code with my name but I don't get any extra commission for it but if you purchase thru the amazon link I get my amazon commission 🫶 I just genuinely love them! 🥰 Here's the amazon link: www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2JVYV1G?th=1 Edit: If you're rude I will block you from my channel. I don't tolerate negativity or hate towards me.
Hello! I'm a new viewer and I LOVE your videos so far. They're all very informative for a person who doesn't know what they're doing. In short, last year I bought a ton of expensive plants. All healthy, all doing great. Then I bought a giant $20 monstera from Home Depot and over a period of months I lost over half my plant collection (probably at least 50 plants and cuttings in total) to spider mites and thrips. As a new plant owner that sucked. These past few months my few survivors haven't shown signs of mites and perked up. I have four monstera albos (my weakness) and they were champs. All survived. One did lose its lower leaves and so I came to RUclips to find videos on how to propagate wetsticks and found you! Literally today I chopped my monstera albo into 6 wetsticks and put the top cutting in water to grow new roots. I'm praying the wetsticks grow. How nerve-racking it was to chop such an expensive plant, lol. I just wanted to comment and say that your video on wetsticks helped me and I will hopefully have 6 new plants in the coming months. The pot your epi marble came in can be found on Amazon under the shop name Greenpara. They have 4, 5, and 6" pots and it looks like they now have an 8", too. I use them and love them. :) Hopefully in the coming months I'll have baby monsteras to put in the 4" pots! :)
So sorry about all of that that has happened to you 😭 I'm happy some of them are coming back 🥹 Thank you for the name of the pots! I'll have to look them up! 🤗
I've been using those poles for about a year and I LOVE them. And I use soft velcro to attach the plants, it kinda smooshes the aerial roots into the pole and gets them headed in the right direction. Once the roots take off, I just remove the velcro 😊
Wow! Four growth points!! Happy to see its done so well. I finally picked up one, little baby like yours was. Can’t wait too get updates on it, so beautiful 💚💚💚
I tried putting 2 mature pothos on poles and they hate their lives now. I kept them in their same size pots and gave them a chunky mix. They don’t look good either since the shape just isn’t right since they grew very differently once they trail down. The full plants just have too much going on with way too many stems. What I’ve learned is starting these young plants climbing is the way to go and I think maybe only having 2 stems is the sweet spot. Anything more and it seems like it’s going to just get too big and leaves are crossing other leaves, etc. When young and climbing, the leaves develop differently and it just looks way better. I have a lemon line Philo that’s climbing and it’s 2 stems and it’s PERFECT! It’s about 4 feet tall now and is growing fast so I added on to the moss pole. What’s the average number of stems you have climbing in 1 pot? Your marble queen is just one, right? This might be a good topic for another video! Tomorrow, I’ll just remove the poles and put them back as they were. It’s a bummer because I have a huge Manjula that’s GORGEOUS and it would look gorgeous in a pole but it’s too late. It’s just not the right shape to attempt it. I did find a baby at Lowe’s just like yours here that I will put on a pole and start it young since it’s not trailing yet. It will look sooo good. I can’t wait to see its progress after a year!
@@plantsbymelissa seems it. The only time i really put off repotting or doing little plant things, is when I can't find the will to pull everything out and clean up afterwards... this may help avoid those thoughts 😄
To solve the issues of instability from putting pole towards the back of pot, I use a sturdy cover pot, looks nicer too 😉 Still like to pull the clear plastic pot out to check roots occasionally
Thank you for the miss pole video!! I am going to be putting my plant … Philo Rio on a pole and I was feeling intimidated! Now it turned out great, so excited! Onto watching your soil video for my next batch 🎉
That cart is so smart. My plant room is a disaster. Ngl, I'd be so embarrassed for anyone to see it right now. 🙈 I definitely need something to organize all my supplies. But your plant looks so good on that pole! Look forward to watching it grow. 😀
Thank you! That's totally okay! I have had mine a total mess at times especially the bathroom where I water at sometimes and keep all my dirty pots lol
I have a one leaf cutting that I’m trying to grow, and just recently got the thiccly mosspole supplies, so I’ll have to add it to a pole at some point! 🥰
I was just looking at my Amazon orders....i ordered some Bliss brand worm castings, but thats not the point. I noticed in the order selection where you select the bag size they have a Bliss plant charcoal. I use leca on my indoor plants ❤, but I bought some Bliss Coco coir block for my outside plants. The reviews are nearly 5 stars and the Bliss brand is really affordable. Im mixing Coco Coir, vermiculite, petlite, worm castings and some compost for my outside plants. I love that the block makes a huge tub of "soil" and it lasts almost all summer without having to lug home huge bags of expensive, bug ridden soil. Just thought you might like to know. I like to buy the VermisTerra brand but delivery was too long for me, so I hope the Bliss brand is as good as the reviews.
I don't know if you have a merch shop or not, but I have an idea for a tshirt for you. A photo of you with cartoon bubble saying "I have too many moss poles". And another bubble saying "so let's get this plant on a moss pole". Love your channel... have a good one😂
I made a bunch of wire moss poles. But I added a vinyl sheet to the back, so it's not open to air. It helps it stay moist longer, if you don't want to replace all your wire mesh poles. I had already made a bunch of them when I heard that the black back ones were better at keeping moisture in. How often do you have to water your moss poles that are straight wire only? Also I noticed you've been adding slow release fertilizer to the top of your soil. I researched this and the balls need to stay moist, and be around the root system for it to work properly. It gets offgassed into the air if it's exposed. Just a little tip 😊
I water all my poles twice a week except one watering reaches the soil :) I have seen where people add the vinyl sheet to the back. For some reason I dread making wire poles now 😒 I try to mix the fertilizer into the top few inches. Sometimes I forget to add it until last when I realize 😂
@@plantsbymelissa they are very time consuming! Took me a while to complete the first few. But I've gotten good at it now haha. Well at least you know how to do it properly, everyone makes mistakes when they're in the moment 😊
Hi Melissa 👋 Would you mind sharing an update on your Epi Marble pretty please? I'm in the process of prepping to transfer mine onto a pole and would love to know how they do.
I recently got a Philodendron Pink Princess in a 4 inch pot. It is relatively good size for the pot. Should I let it grow till Spring or repot it now with a moss pole? I am so confused. I am a moss pole newbie.
So sorry about the rot issues 😥 that must be so tough... but I'm happy you're doing a positive video. Also that you got a repotting cart! I want one just for my smaller supplies and a small thing of soil, because my plant stand area is looking messy is all. Just proud of you for taking this thing head-on and staying positive! 💚🪴🌱 ( *Sorry for the long comment* )
It's from Michael's craft store! I got them a couple years ago but they usually keep them in stock. Yes!! do it 🙌 they climb so well! Here's a link: rstyle.me/+VN4SsZyAZW89xpfanTr82g
You'd be horrified if you saw my potting station, I'm kind of horrified by it myself😑. I put some of those small thiccly poles in my cart a couple of days ago, now im just trying to decide on a moss and which one will give me more bang for my buck, though i think the besgrow is on sale now too. And I'm laughing at how happy you are with you cart, i totally get it! 😁

Thank you Ashley!!
That’s GENIUS!! I’ve been trying to think of a way to keep my planting stuff together and organized. Definitely think I’m gonna give this a try!

They're so useful especially for all the plant supplies! Glad you got one to organize everything! 🥰
From spent node to 4 nodes amazing journey ❤❤😂.
Such a great idea. Love the variegation ❤
I bought a 20 x 30“ sheet of clear plastic projector paper from my local art supply store and I lined the back of my wire moss pole with it.
Very cute,enjoy your new cart/planting trolley👍

What is your opinion on multiple plants of the same species on the one pole versus just one?
Any chance you can share where your watering can is from? Love your videos 😊
Thank you! I got it from Walmart!
Your set up is my goal. Love the repotting mat you have. Where did you get that from? Would love to purchase one.
it's from www.theplantdrip.co I got it a long time ago but I don't think she's active on insta anymore :(
Where did you get the monstera mat ?
Where did you get the plant stand behind you?
Hi I enjoyed your video love the way you are so careful in planting iwold love to know where did you purchase your moss pole with the clear backing would love to order a couple I have lots of plants to put on moss poles thank you 😊
They are growthiccly poles :) I pinned a comment to the top with a link. You can get 15% off on sale on their amazon right now.
Did you make the decision to definitely switch from Osmocote to Dynamite Select? WhT was the definitive difference?
I still need more time! I haven't fertilized all my plants yet even and I feel like I won't know how it compares until after this growing season :)
Walmart has some really cute cash pots that fit that size with monstera leaves on it AND they are $5.00 only.
I need to check Walmart pots again. A $5 monstera pot sounds like I need it lol
Would a small Njoy or Pearls and Jade do well on a moss pole?
yes! I just put one on a couple months ago!
I also saw a huge one in a plant store once, the leaves were amazing!
I ise plastic craft drawers on wheels.
I have had mine on a moss pole. Its about 9 months since i bought it and has barely grown! I dont get it.
