This was a beautiful love story. God put you two together. It’s strange how white people go to Africa to help and do mission work but still have their prejudices against marrying them. It is so confusing to me. I am a bi-racial American.

God's thoughts are higher than ours, and His ways are higher than ours, the Bible tells us a man who finds a wife , finds a good thing, he in another way finds a gem .I pray to keep God first and acknowledge him in their decisions, it's so important to do so. Hi Silvia, I commented on one of your videos before, but this one resonated with me a lot as well! I also met my husband on the mission field in India, and the mission sent me back to the states because I was unworthy 🤷🏻♀️ anyway 9 months later I moved back to India and married there, we lived there until I was 8 months pregnant and we flew back to the states to start our family. We now have three precious sons and God’s faithfulness hasn’t failed us! The mission absolutely loves my husband and he is involved in church life, bringing his experience to the table. God truly makes beauty from ashes, He doesn’t shame us ❤️

Whether he was Black or White. He was prepared to treat you well. You didn't do anything wrong. They were trying to indoctrinate you. So glad you didn't succumb. You found your strength through Love. Everything works good in it’s own way. I think if you had told about seeing Kelvin earlier, you could have been banned and punished based on the Mennonite rules. My husband and I have been married for more than 30 years, and when we were first seeing each other we were just 13 and 14. We also did a lot of meeting behind our parents backs, but like you, we really loved each other and felt that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We married at 17 and 18 years old, and have 6 children.

Your story Is important to Share to the World Thank you - to break down false perceptions, beliefs about interracial marriages. Your Father is a very wise Man - God does not have a problem with interracial marriages he has a problem with marrying someone who does not worship God. Thanks for sharing! Watching this I had a lot of feelings.. I grew up Mennonite and I still don’t understand there way. It makes me sad to here how you’s were treated in this situation. Good for your Dad for saying but what if I’m standing in the way of something God is doing. We are fallen people and fail. I just don’t understand how missions can talk but not walk the talk. If they would fasted and prayed. Testing of this was a path God wanted you on instead of labeling and shipping you away.. Your husband really loves you to walk through all that and still treat those people with love and smile. I was labeled by my older brothers reputation. Sadly I did go down a path that wasn’t straight but Praise God He saved me! I can have empathy for those that are viewed as weird, strange, or struggling and has people saying things that shouldn’t be said. I hate gossip and it makes me ill.

My husband and I met at a Christian college and we knew a couple who were sent to Africa (don't remember where) but we did hear that their daughter married a native man. I wish you hadn't lost so many years and been allowed to marry. You both have beautiful souls. I will be praying for your health, business, and safety. Where exactly do they live other than where you've mentioned in OH? I live in TX. I really wanna meet these people, because the culture you mentioned is very close to traditional Muslim community of an island I came from! Btw I lived in Nairobi South-C, 25 yrs ago! But I'm not from that country!
