      i imagine that it may be possible if you incorporate some sort of midi controller. there are many examples of guitarists placing a Kaoss XY Pad in their guitars (Matt Bellamy of muse is notable for doing this). once the input from the pickups is converted to a digital signal, the signal could be used to control a set of LED's. this is complete speculation however.

    The noise you hear is the LED switching. It is coming through the pickup. Shielding the controls would help but you may never get it out. You would probably have to have LEDs that are constanty on instead of being pulsed.

    • @johnward5726
      @johnward5726 2 года назад +50

      Exactly. The LED power supply is likely super noisy. You'd have to redesign it to not induce noise, but this is an AMAZING looking build that would be talked about any time you played it in public.

      @@johnward5726 Yes, even if you shield the power supply, any LED that is not fully on or off will be switching (pulsing) the harmonics of this will absolutely get picked up by the pickups. Source: I tried to build something like this ... a few times.

      @beardalaxy 2 года назад +2

      @@wayahedia9989 you would presumably be plugging in to a power source though, not using batteries. i wouldn't be surprised if there was some way you could power the guitar and the LEDs in the same cable

    • @wayahedia9989
      @wayahedia9989 2 года назад +4

      @@beardalaxy The leds themselves generate emf. So as long as they're pulsed you will likely have the same problem. And if you're pulsing LEDs and you're running that power in the same cable you're probably going to exacerbate the problem since that will be running next to a low gain audio signal.

    Word of advice, drill holes out of Acrylic sheets **BEFORE** you cut out the actual shape, it will be sturdier that way and less likely to crack like it did. Also, you can reduce the, well I don't know what you would call it but, the fray-like chips & scratches on the edges of the sheets by masking it off on both sides with painters tape. (I know it has the protective layer on it, but the tape will help protect it even more, and it doesn't take that long to do.)
    Great video though, it still turned out epic.

    Even if you don't see this brother, I just want to say that I am honored to have seen every single one of your builds on the very day they were uploaded since day 1. I don't comment much, but it is extremely cool to see how far you have come since the first colored pencil guitar. The neck has similar characteristics to a maple finish it’s fascinating to watch you build this from nothing! your craftsmanship is hands down amazing there’s no doubt about that. Keep up the good work my man i look forward to future projects

    I think you're gonna see some serious warping on the acrylic top without a solid block under the bridge
    You could install a hardwood block/bracing and coat it in a reflective finish too

    • @awscos
      @awscos 4 года назад +4

      Yeah I was thinking the same but even then, the block would be mounted alone to the plexi. Probably should have just made the guitar shallow and kept the back wood and the block for the trem. Then put reflective material on top of the wood.

      I say make it a neck through design with the wings of an ES335, where the wings are reflective with LEDs

      @Virgil Grin loosen the strings, hang it up on the wall. It's beautiful but is gonna destroy itself eventually.

    The feedback from the lights doesn't seem terrible. It actually kinda added a soothing white noise. Perfect for putting a crowd to sleep at a late night concert. Lofi.

    can we all appreciate the delay in the demo song, mirroring (pun sort of intended) the layers of reflections.
    that had to be a conscious choice and its excellent

    The buzz is actually not that bad, almost like its a stylistic divice

    • @michaelpalmer6854

      If he wants to get rid of the buzz, he could probably fill the guitar with a clear fluid. But yeah, I liked the buzz

      @@michaelpalmer6854 Just fill it with clear epoxy resin, you'll be golden.

    Now we need an infinity mirror neck on top, and leds that respond to the music style and rhythm.
    What a fantastic build! You are so creative with all these guitars. And I like very much how you adapted your playing to the guitar style again!
    One of the best channels here on youtube! You rock!
