Great build videos! Thank you for not adding over bearing annoying background music while showing us the true life of building a guitar. Mistakes and all!
Every choice on this build was so cool, even the mistakes that were resolved. The way the grain popped when you did the finish made me go "Oh!" (in a good way). That dark (almost black) finish looked like vinegar and steel wool. Your use of hand tools shows a great dedication to the craft, and I know those are challenging.
Wow, this guitar build is amazing! The way you’ve put everything together is truly impressive. From the choice of materials to the precision in the design, everything looks top-notch. I can tell a lot of care and skill went into this-definitely one of the coolest builds I've seen. Keep up the great work!
I've always wanted a tele with a floyd. Now seeing this I think it will be one of my winter projects. I already have some ideas, not quite as elaborate as yours but still really cool! What a fantastic build! Your choice of woods and Gotoh parts... The video, showing all the individual steps was excellent! That's a beautiful guitar my friend and your craftsmanship top notch! 👍🏻
I was laughing out loud watching the ordeal with the magnets and switching to good ol' screws. Great to see the struggles and the bad and ugly. Nevertheless, the end result is beautiful!
I just stumbled across your video, great guitar! I enjoyed watching your building process and video editing as well! The guitar not only looks great but sounds awesome as well!
The edit, the takes, the result! Everything it's on point! What a incredible tutorial to start my first build! Can you please share the plans with me? I have my own design for the headstock and the body shape, but everything else (pickups position, bridge, scale, etc) are the same, so it's important to not screw things in the process lol I would like to share the process with you... I hope this petition doesn't bother you... Greetings from Colombia!
Wow! Love seeing super capable people build things. When are you getting a small cnc?!?!?! I haven't built a guitar from scratch yet and probably should do it before going cnc but my head is aching, soul is hungry, to build a guitar with a cnc. And yes, Lee Nielsen is most definitely worth the investment! Good show, man!
I really want a CNC, but I convinced myself I'd have to go for an Avid machine. Buy once, cry once 😅. I agree though, best to build from scratch first before building with CNC.
@ I’ve been looking at shop saber for my cabinetry business but I kind of just want a table top machine for fun work instead of processing panels. By the time I’m into 4x8 or 5x10 with ATC and vacuum table, cost is more than I want to drop at the moment. Maybe a used desktop shopbot. I have seen those smaller Laguna/Powermatics used for a fair price. I’ve also considers building my own but haven’t calculated the cost savings over buying a used machine. Anywho, you’re clearly super capable dude. It’s awesome to watch!
@@DUY1337GUITAR at 1900 for reconditioned it might be worth it. I never really had an interest in the shaper origin till recently. Was a guy from New Jersey, forget his name, on RUclips and he made really good use of it. Think I’ll hold out for a desktop 2x3. $5-6k gets a decent used non ATC machine. Resharpen my cnc skill on that for a while. It been a while since I’ve done cnc work. I miss it. Cool seeing you use 3D printed templates. Do you use fusion 360 for design?
Amazing build man! I'm a huge sucker for super teles (Despite not actually owning one LOL.. eventually I'll find a old ESP neck through tele like Devin Townsend used to play) I'd have 100% done a monkey claw on the back of the trem route to reveal the wood layers. Also, black miniature poodle crew checking in. We're on poodle team #2 now.
You are a true craftsman, using the old way of doing thins like planing a body blank with a hand planer, I have a question for you, what brands are your handplaners ? I am looking in to buying a couple of new ones soon.. thank you.
I own Lie Nielsen, Lee Valley, and Wood River. I did not like my Wood River, but the other brands were on backorder at the time. I recommend going for Lie Nielsen if you can. You can always sell it and recover a lot of the cost.
Yup, some days those router tables will wake you right up! 🤣 I'm not a fan of those really big router bits. I prefer to step it down in small increments. Nice build, I'm finishing up my Tele with a Floyd myself. 😎
As soon as I saw the book matched burl top I was in it till the end. It's really funny how we as humans are obsessed with how beautiful tree tumors are.
@@DUY1337GUITAR Yep! The tree gets disease, damage or environmental stress in some way and tries to wall the damaged section off from the rest of the tree, resulting in burl.
@@Steve-s4b Not meaning to be picky, but that doesn't fit the definition of a tumour, which is uncontrolled cell growth while avoiding programmed cell death. Granted one of those "deseases" a tree could get that creates burl could be a tumour. Unless the definition is different in trees, in which case, I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Still pretty hardcore though. I'm sure there's a deeper message to be had about being beautiful despite your wounds in there somewhere.
@@jasonhelms9410 I'm not sure I'm ready to open my building to the public yet, but hopefully one day. It's a painfully long process without big boy tools.

Dude, awesome work! Better than any Kiesel I've ever seen! Also, what's that sick trem spring plate with the allen wrench adjust? I need to buy one of those ASAP
From Amazon. They are 2-56 threaded inserts for plastic. If you get the ones like mine where it's split shaft, you have to hammer them in with the screw inserted, otherwise the inserts will squeeze upon installing

Bro, your editing had me rolling! Choir singing on the trem peg removal was hilarious. Beautiful build!
Bro, I like the way you show the struggle of building a guitar. We all human. We make mistakes. Keep the great job.
I don't know where you learned how to make guitars but you are gifted my friend. I could watch your video a 1000 times and still not catch everything
I learn from videos like these. I had to cut 95% of footage from 450 video clips. So much left out!
That top is striking. Great work on both the build and the video.
