David should like this video you made with all the sales oriented verbiage. Looks sleek. It'll be good to hear more about this as you get more experience with it. You ride not unlike a wild cheetah.
Ride it up the stairs! Seriously though I was thinking I can roll it down the stairs into my basement then use walk assist mode to get it back upstairs.
Nice bike, thanks for the video. I definitely like the smaller tires and overall size of the bike vs. the 5 star, I would choose this over the 5 star now.
@ Yeah man I’ve only been able to get the smaller 20x4 and 20x3 bikes and I definitely wanted the regular 5 star or dual and then I saw one in Irvine on my ride home, it was massive, sometimes I take Metrolink or I have to put a bike in the back of the car. I’m going to check out the weight difference.
I love my 5 Star (and the great deal I got from your coupon code). But if I had to choose again, I think I would go Step Star, just for the step through convenience and minor size difference. Also, I remember commenting about the Coyote melons, passing on my useless fact knowledge. I feel seen!
Hah, it was you that told me what those melons were called then. I did notice a few of them were broken open this time, looked like some animal started to eat one and decided they weren't very good
Recumbent bikes are easier on your back and easier to pedal if you have issues with that, like arthritis etc. A lot of people cannot ride in an upright position for very long or at all due to back issues. I have also heart something about exerting your leg muscles in a position level with your heart that is beneficial. More Larry content please.
@@shootthechitThank you ! I am 6’0 but I tell everyone I am 6’2” so this should be perfect :) On a serious note, in some of the footage, the bike looks small for you. With a step-thru design, I would think there is no need to go to 24” tires ?? Look forward to seeing the range test, speed test and more footage.
your immature - lol I kinda like the bell sound yup im old it sounds like the ice cream wagon - lol ;) oh man that step star is one Ive been waiting for! and very well built [more than I had imagined] sadly Im 6'4" so will have to wait a little more as Im sure Dave will make it to fit us larger bears. I was thinking wallke, eahora or some other teeny [to me] they are like those I see in the circus with a bear riding teeny bikes [yup funny for sure] the step star as it is. Im sure it will be popular as it does fit the average size folks better. and WOW very impressive as a super nice riding and strong stable well built suspension and components. the design is more than expected [obviously better than others Ive seen!] just great stuff! too bad Im not 5'4" - - bummer I passed as I didnt fit in a jeep in high school [yup Ive been "out sized" awhile now (wah) the 5 star is still my favorite, but still want a step star, just waiting for it. the 24" wheels I like - the frames small [for me] the latest kingstar [yup its one a those "big" ebikes, like the 5 star, just a little bit more
Too bad you can't try one in person. I'm 6'2 and feel like it fits me fine and could still raise the seat a bit if I wanted to, granted I don't ride with full leg extension.
I will have to try again because when I first got this bike, it would only spin the motor to 35mph or so with no load, but now it goes to 45 or so. Makes me wonder if there is a break in period. I could be completely wrong about this as wel, but I think it can go faster than 34
Not really close to the Wired bikes as they lack 1000 watts, UL certification, and a thru axle. Cleveland claims this bike goes 43mph😂😂😂. Maybe downhill, with the wind, piloted by a manic Latino pedaling like a coked up rat. Always important to wait for a real review as Owners tend to be a little biased, or in this case, fraudulently misleading.
Wired always knew a step thru with a rear battery was Wobble city, that’s why the Cruiser always came with a Hellbender headset installed. Actually makes the steering super stable at high speed, you should try one. The $2000 Cruiser has 1000 more watts, goes 40+mph throttle only, is certified to UL 2849 , and has a much safer thru axle fork. Moreover, when you pay for a bike from Wired, you actually get one. Some people have been waiting nine months for this dual step star disappointment, thanks for financing Dave’s business. Why are you supporting this guy? So many people have gotten screwed by e cells, why do it to your viewers?
I don’t know why they are send you new bikes to ride e-cell is the worse e bike company to back to you. I called 4 times during there business hours and no answer and left detailed messages no response emails no response and dm the owner to his personal facebook account No Answer!!! The only way to get hold of them is to put your credit card and order online. And hope to get what you what or need. If they are this hard to get hold of on the front end how hard is it on the back end if you have problems then your done for. I going buy a wired. BEWARE e Cell sucks. And they have a big backlog of orders they can’t fulfill because of batteries.
What a biased review even had to dig back a find a old rigid step through design from another company to throw under the bus. We all know about your buddies past. no matter how many free ebikes he gives to his minion youtubers he can't erase his past.
Oh, this wasn't a review of the owner of E-Cells , this is a bike review. I wasn't throwing anyone under the bus, I said bending that frame was my fault, and they have since switched frames.
Funny thing is I was going to look at Wired bikes. But after watching reviews and reading comments and seeing jfly always dissing other bikes it made me realize either you own or work for Wired. And to see constant public shaming of other companies left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. So I avoided Wired totally. I have read other people say comments similar to mine. Jfly, you are actually doing more damage than good to Wired by your comments. Something to think about.
You can besmirch me for pointing out that the dual Step star costs $2800 vs. $2000 for the Wired. You can throw shade when I point out that the Wired Crusier has 1000 more watts, a safer thru axle, and has a much higher top speed. But after all the crap from e cells about their superior frame, to see both of their dual battery bikes suffer from extreme wobble, PRICELESS😂😂😂. Btw, e cells gets an F rating from the Better Business Bureau, just Google “e cells BBB.” You can’t respond to facts so you throw insults. Enjoy your underpowered wobbly clone.
The eagle sound whenever you get air is never going to get old lol
Thanks, Tim I like that bike a lot. I like the 24 inch too. ❤
Always enjoy your videos. Funniest ebike guy on youtube
I know some people like recumbent bikes, but I prefer incumbent bikes. More stability, you know what you're getting with them
That eagle is truly mad that you're challenging it's dominance of the sky! Be careful out there! Don't want it to snatch you up!
Always love your sense of humor Tim! I leave dog tv on for our dogs too!
Heck yea! Can't have them sitting around bored with nothing to watch
Yay, more sidewalks and big jumps. Wow! flannel shirt weather. Nice it compliments the bike color. 8
hahaha. I was riding in 27° yesterday with a wind chill making it 8° (I feel for your winter pain) #BFF
I really enjoy your funny moments from your commentary thanks. BELL are needed on every e-bike I have been trying to find a general Lee horn🎉
5:59 Shots fired 😆
Hah, well if he didn't tell me that every time I saw him, I wouldn't have to mention it!
@shootthechit 😂💯
Another fantastic video, some great content Tim. My Rat Terrier went nuts at the end 🤪
Because of the dogs on the TV? Thats funny
Great review thanks

Awesome ride a long a very sharp looking bike 🚴 nice job 😊
Man that really sucks those peoples house caught on fire. That is my worst nightmare. Hopefully everyone made it out ok ❤
Great review, as always.
Thanks!
no, thank you! I appreciate that!
I really like the 24 inch tires, I hope we start seeing them on more bike models.

More Larry content please.
Interesting, I figured there was some reason for them.
Larry knows when I'm filming and usually wants no part of it. Have to bribe him with food
OK, thats it. Recumbent E-Bike review next!
Have you ridden one?? They seem kinda unsafe to me
Sweet bike and review, does this model have a torque sensor?
Are you reviewing the 2025 5-Star with the new design on Pre-order?
stay calm in Brentwood man.
Let me know when they've got a dual motor dual step star.
The dual motor version launches in spring 2025.
STC - That is a nice-looking e-bike ! How tall are you ? Why 24" tires vs 26" ?
@markborao6144 I'm 6'2. I like the 24 inch tires because it makes the bike overall a more compact package. Some of these bikes are huge
@@shootthechitThank you ! I am 6’0 but I tell everyone I am 6’2” so this should be perfect :) On a serious note, in some of the footage, the bike looks small for you. Passing road bicyclists that think they’re Lance Armstrong or something is so dang funny.
More comfy three wheels
your immature - lol
I kinda like the bell sound
yup im old it sounds like the ice cream wagon - lol ;)

too bad Im not 5'4" - - bummer I passed as I didnt fit in a jeep in high school [yup Ive been
"out sized" awhile now (wah)
the 5 star is still my favorite, but still want a step star, just waiting for it.

the latest kingstar [yup its one a those "big" ebikes, like the 5 star, just a little bit more

Hmm. I would have guessed your brother would way into e-bikes
He is a big time hater
The other ecells models i have seen...much better looking Rack...
That's a shame, thought it would be the same motor with the same speed as the bigger version..Nice bike though..
I will have to try again because when I first got this bike, it would only spin the motor to 35mph or so with no load, but now it goes to 45 or so. Makes me wonder if there is a break in period. I could be completely wrong about this as wel, but I think it can go faster than 34
If they are making a wired freedom nock off it should be cheaper kinda dumb

Only 35mph? Wobble city? Complete and total failure. Wired Cruiser destroys this bike without the wobble for much less.
Thank you for your well thought out comment. Having to add a hellbender headset doesn't really count as no wobble does it?
