@@DimitriMoreira Well, that isn true but forced. In the 5 races they were together, Schumacher got 4 points, while Piquet got 4.5 and of the three occasions they both finished Schumacher finished higher than Piquet in 2. That was after an engine failure cost Schumacher another points finish which would have put him in front of Piquet. Also, the win of Piquet came in a race where 6 out of the 7 people in front of him retired and the other one had gearbox issues (that includes all 5 drivers that finished higher than Piquet in the season). It was just as lucky as Gasly's victory last year. Apart from that, we must mention that Rosberg had already 4 years of experience before going against Schumacher, while Schumacher had 1 race of experience before going against Piquet. Also, not every driver is in the same form in the same years. For example, Vettel got his championships much younger than Hamilton on average, but he looks a bit out of shape today. Interestingly enough F1 has previously posted a top10 debute list including him (also Kimi and Nasr). It's mentioned there that he started non-championship F1 races before his victorious "debut" in the point scoring races, so maybe they excluded him this time on those grounds.
@@Ariespradana13 Yeah, Winkelhock's race wasn't down to his driving. It was down to Gascoyne's strategy (who, incidentally, is the same guy behind the decision to make Mika Salo not take a pit stop at Monaco in 1997).

I believe Kevin lost a lot of his confidence when he was given the boot in 2015. I really want to see performances like that and his 2018 German gp qualifying again.
The fact that K-Mag scored his first podium on his debut is beautiful, but it'd be his only podium ever in formula 1 is sad. Those haas years dented his reputation as a fast and smart driver. He was asked to deliver results in a car that couldn't do much. And he did a lot of times. Just like his teammate, Romain Grosjean.
I was actually there near the podium when I saw Magnussen place 3rd (changed to 2nd) on his debut in 2014, hoping the whole race he wouldn't overtake Riccardo (I'm Australian, haha), I never would've imagined Magnussen not placing another podium again after that.

Therefor also the driver and constructor Championships 2007+2008 for McLaren with ALO/DLR, Pedro as loyal #2 driver. Dennis chose Kovalainen over de la Rosa 2008 was the biggest joke in McLaren history since he chose Andretti over Häkkinen in 1993.

Six comebacks that gotta be F1 record. It should have been Arrows 1999-2000, Jaguar 2001-2004, McLaren 2005-2009, Sauber 2010-2012. Ferrari 2013.
RoGro actually has speed, and I mean SERIOUS speed, but only on his good day. From what I remember he faced some psychological issues so this may have affected him a lot... 1. He was driving a Ferrari, class of the field in 1961
2. It was a semi-works team
3. All three works Ferraris fell by the wayside, as well as Moss and Surtees
And you think THAT should be no.1? *Really?*
@ETC - The Porsche was nowhere near as good as the Ferrari. If anything, that takes away from Baghetti's win because Baghetti had a superior car.
And even then, taking all of that out of the equation, is it *really* better than Johnny Herbert's debut?
Interestingly enough F1 has previously posted a top10 debute list including him (also Kimi and Nasr). It's mentioned there that he started non-championship F1 races before his victorious "debut" in the point scoring races, so maybe they excluded him this time on those grounds.
KMag had all the deadly defensive moves even back then. Alonso must have shit his pants seeing KMag move like that at start😂
Wasn’t really a defensive move, he almost lost the car, but somehow saved it
I only discovered this recently about Johnny, & I was there in '95 when he won at Silverstone. What a great man 👍
Ok where the heck is Markus Winkelhock? :(
He's lucky, not driving skills
@@Ariespradana13 Yeah, Winkelhock's race wasn't down to his driving. It was down to Gascoyne's strategy (who, incidentally, is the same guy behind the decision to make Mika Salo not take a pit stop at Monaco in 1997).
@@c63amgguy20 Hey, at least he didn't spin off the extremely wet track.
And 2 years after his debut on F1, wins The Le Mans 24 Hours. Legend.

I'd like to see Felipe Nasr in this list. He finished in 5th place in his first race driving a Sauber!
Jacques Villeneuve in 1996 Australia Grand Prix probably my favourite debuts by winning in podium just helping Damon Hill and showing his skills to can fit with F1 racing style
I still remember him driving sideways on the grass. Awesome stuff. I loved that race.
Giancarlo Baghetti and Pedro de la Rosa are calling to protest
Kobayashi was pretty amazing
I believe Kevin lost a lot of his confidence when he was given the boot in 2015. I really want to see performances like that and his 2018 German gp qualifying again.
The fact that K-Mag scored his first podium on his debut is beautiful, but it'd be his only podium ever in formula 1 is sad. Those haas years dented his reputation as a fast and smart driver. He was asked to deliver results in a car that couldn't do much. And he did a lot of times. Just like his teammate, Romain Grosjean.
Felipe Nasr, Australia 2015
Hans Heyer had an impressive debu... oh wait 😁
I was actually there near the podium when I saw Magnussen place 3rd (changed to 2nd) on his debut in 2014, hoping the whole race he wouldn't overtake Riccardo (I'm Australian, haha), I never would've imagined Magnussen not placing another podium again after that.
Kevin Magnussen is extremely underrated. People hat on him too much but he's just a tough racer, that's it.
Amazing how McLaren denied Kevin a good carrier
Career*
Didn't know McLaren was building carriers in addition to sports cars
He was arguably in a better spot by not being at mclaren honda. Rather be not on the grid, than last/dnf in every race. the 2015 season was a pure disaster for mclaren.
McLaren has history of destroying young drivers.
Just ask Kovaleinen, Checo, VanDorne and Kmag
@@TheUlrikkaul Kovalainen was shite. Failed in every team he went to.
Checo ended up in a better team for 2015/16/17/18 to prove he's worthy of a top team.
Same for Magnussen.
Vandoorne had a good first season and was, indeed, confirmed for 2018, then he destroyed his own career with poor results. Awful actually.
McLaren is not a charity team, if you're slow you're out like in every other team.

Raikkonen, Nasr and Winkelhock could be in this list easily
I miss Pedro de la Rosa. Scoring the only point of the whole season for Arrows.
His first race for McLaren was also mighty impressive. For 2006, he bettered it with a podium finish im Hungary. Sadly, he didnt get to race on for McLaren for 2007
Most underrated driver ever. Pedro would have won many races 2007-2009 in McLaren plus he would have saved the trouble that Hamilton indirect caused since Alonso got upset.
He raced from 99 to 2002, then he made a comeback in 2006, to comeback in 2010, to comeback in 2012, the comebacks kinda ruined him
@Ricky Red No, he raced 1999/2000 in Arrows. Then comeback 2001 Spanish GP in Jaguar until he and Irvine got fired by Lauda the day before Lauda himself got fired by Ford after the 2002 season. Next comebacks 2005 Bahrain one race and France 2006 to the end of the season in McLaren. Next comeback 2010 in Sauber and 2011 Canada GP again Sauber. Another comeback in HRT 2012. Six comebacks that gotta be F1 record.
It should have been Arrows 1999-2000, Jaguar 2001-2004, McLaren 2005-2009, Sauber 2010-2012. Ferrari 2013.
champcar ffs it was "CART" PPG Indy Car World Series last season before Tony George ruined US open wheel racing

3 out of 5 seasons, K-MAG has beaten his co-driver. Imagine him in a top-3 car!
you gotta be kidding, beating Grosjean doesn't count as beating someone
@@vladimirvalis2482 well he did beat the door of steiners office

RoGro actually has speed, and I mean SERIOUS speed, but only on his good day. From what I remember he faced some psychological issues so this may have affected him a lot...
But given the right motivation (and help) I still think he has that speed...
But for the time being, he should stay as a test driver in F1, and try to get a full-time drive in another form of motorsport, who knows, he may do much better elsewhere
Herbert is a great shout, well done for recognising the determination for what effectively was a disabled driver just to get himself to the grid. His book is well worth a read.

2:37 both of them have the quarantine cut 13 years early 😂
1:14 Can we just hold on a second and say what a smooth U-turn Heidfeld did there? i mean comon that needs some skill to do it that fast and most of the drivers do a u-turn with a short brake attempt to stop after the u-turn.... but heidfeld did a U-turn without braking and just did hang on the gas.....
Maybe i underrated heidfeld the whole time (i was pretty young at that point).... Now i acknowledge that kind of skills! Are there others that think the same way?
No mention of Giancarlo Baghetti who won on his debut and Alain Prost who ended up on 6th position and scoring 1 point on his debut. Nonsense. Utter nonsense. Absolutely disgraceful.
Shoutout to Giancarlo Baghetti, the only one who ever won on his debut. Strange he isn't mentioned on here; sure he only won because his teammates all retired, but he had to fight hard against the Porsche of Dan Gurney to win.
Yea I was thinking that Baghetti should have been on this list. What's up with you F1?!?!?!?!?! Guess I'll stick to Jelle's Marble Runs for now, hehe
Farina also won on his debut
A little extra trivia on Baghetti; he actually won his first 3 F1 races, only the third of which was a World Championship event.
Can we see Singapore 2019 full race as it gonna be Vettel’s last win ❤️
How do you know that? Have you seen a preview of the 2020 season?
"Running high up until he had to stop for tyres" is such a weird thing to say. It's not a true position if you are out of sync on pitstops
We all know the best F1 debut is our lord and savior Pastor Maldonado. 😈
Yuji Ide : kids...
Taking Pole and beating ur more experienced team mate on debut is really something. Respect to Jacques and Mario for doing it. Jacques had it all. Screwed his career going to BAR
From world champion (beating a guy named Schumacher) to driving in a bad car, why he did that? He could have won more than 1 title
@@clashgoneofficial he wanted to start his own team. He part owned BAR. I agree he wasted his prime years 98-2001. Such a waste of a fearless talent.
Giancarlo Baghetti and Kimi Raikkonen should be on here instead of Nico Rosberg and Carlos Reutemann.
Everyone will say I am biased, but it's a fact. Kimi had Max Mosley literally call him out before the race. Tremendous pressure.
Last time i was this early, williams was grabbing podiums....
Where is KIMI ??!!
And Pedro De la Rosa? 6th at his first race with the Arrows in 1999...
