      their car had nowhere to go by that point. they developed an unique exhaust arrangement pointed forward that put them on disadvantage compared to the teams with blown diffusers.
      and blown diffusers were banned for the next season so they saw no reason adopt it.
      their season was done development-wise and senna brought some sponsorship money.

    • @coolL9457
      @coolL9457 5 лет назад +339

      @Anubis Bruno Senna was in the wings. At the time everybody wanted to get the Senna name back into F1 in whatever way they can justify it. Petrov was secure in the seat so it had to be Heidfeld when inevitably the noise to put Senna in the car was too much. Bruno Senna was a pretty average midfield driver though, whilst Heidfeld was a Hulkenberg before Hulkenberg, although he could actually get podiums.

    • @alief54
      @alief54 5 лет назад +90

      @@coolL9457 imo he wasn't just average, he was awful! Williams had a brilliant car in 2012 and almost totally wasted the car's potential with the line-up of Maldonado and Senna, at least Maldonado got a win while Senna only scored a handful of points. Had Williams left their 2011 line-up intact for 2012 then there's no doubt in my mind that Barrichello will get a few podiums with the 2012 car.

      Indeed, but i feel bad for kvyat, he beat ricciardo in 2015, he wasn't a bad driver after all. With albon going to red bull, I hope Kvyat can secure ferrari seat after vettel's contract expire, there's no promising young driver at the time in f2

      @@tegarsatriyo486 Honestly, I never thought Kvyat should have been promoted ahead of Vergne after 2014, as he got beaten convincingly. Either way, whoever got promoted would end up making room for Verstappen. As for Kvyat's future I see him as someone capable of being a solid midfielder (like Hulk or Perez), I don't really think he'll get back into top equipment as he's got a lot of competition from young up and coming drivers

      @@tegarsatriyo486 Kvyat also has great potential in his own just like verstappen but he was treated unfair at that time by red bull team.. So it's inevitable that if bottas still in Mercedes, kvyat will be verstappen teammate in RBR next season.
