Q3 - Why does the Iris appear black? A3 - Under “Render Properties”, scroll down to “Light Paths” and increase “Transparent Light Paths” until it's no longer black. This is in the FAQ of the author :))

I am having the same issue. Everything goes black. Hope someone gives advice.
I worked it out. We both didn't have a good graphics card so blender cannot render the eyes. When I used a better computer it worked!

I have troubles with painting it’s belly, painting brush simply doesn’t work… maybe you know what’s the problem?
I already checked and my normals are great, so that’s not the issue
