  • Recently I've found some incredible vintage and antique furniture items on Facebook Marketplace. In my search to replace some of the "cheaper" furniture items in my home with more vintage and antique pieces, I've found that Facebook Marketplace has been an incredible resource.

    Aunt Pam had one of those fireplace fan screens. It was always one of my favorites of the antiques she had. That brought back memories seeing it. ❤️

    Never seen you before, you just popped up! You'd find a lot of this pretty easy if you were in the UK (& Europe), things like this are often just around the corner or within an hours drive & if it's not currently in vogue, the 40's still aren't, it'll likely be a steal. As an interior designer, one thing I will say that will add instant period charm, especially to obviously modern homes is - wallpaper! Some pretty vintage small florals patterns will transport your home back decades, I wonder if that's on the list? If you or a housemate simply can't countenance patterns on the wall, a wonderful alternative is to put the pattern on the floor, it adds enormous character & charm, but keeps the pattern out of the eyeline, I've done that & everyone loves it. Run the same carpet right through as makes a nice flow, then picks colours out of the carpet for the wall colours. Hope you don't mind my little tips, which you probably know, but just ideas from my vintage palace to yours. You look totally fab, well done for keeping it up, it's lots of work. Have a wonderful vintage day, old is always better. x

    Wonderful finds. I have seen so amazing pieces on FB Marketplace that are very reasonably priced or even free but I have neither the space nor a truck to transport them. I look forward to seeing more of your acquisitions.

    I have found the most gorgeous, elaborate, solid wood furniture pieces on Facebook marketplace for so cheap! Fortunately these antiques pieces are not being snatched up by most because the modern, minimal, beige, succulent, macrame trend is happening now. Lol. As always love your style and decor.

    I would like to suggest a shopping day trip for you. Take Rt 50 to Winchester, VA . There are several fantastic thrift shops there, and also be sure to stop off in Middleburg and Upperville on the way. It's a beautiful drive and the shopping and restaurants are fantastic!

    What wonderful finds! I liked all of them! I really liked the China hutch. What strikes me the most is the price of all these beautiful things. Here you will never find such prices and it is not easy to find such beautiful furniture here, unless it is pre-revolutionary.

      @TheGlambassador  Год назад +1

      I have been lucky with the prices, it's not always this way, but when you find a person wanting to get rid of items you can usually get a good price.

    Hello friend 👋🏾😆. There’s a place here in downtown Baltimore. The name is Second Chance ,they have beautiful, antique and vintage items from many different places as well as estate’s. I do believe they have a Facebook and RUclips page. If you plan to visit Baltimore soon, check it out. I’m sure you will find something you love. Happy shopping 😃

      Yes! I used to live in Baltimore and would visit their old location. We went recently to check out their new location and it's lovely. It did seem that their prices have risen quite a bit. It seems a lot more curated now than it did before. But it's such a cool place to shop around.

    So glad that you are feeling better! You've had great success on Marketplace. We've been trying it for some time but so far not been terribly successful. Do you use very specific search terms or more general categories?

    • @TheGlambassador
      @TheGlambassador  Год назад

      I'll start with a specific search term and if that's not giving me what I want I'll broaden it. I'll also look at how other people have titled their listings, sometimes things are named different than I think.
