I am so happy I found your channel! I grew up in Waukesha WI and had many friends who went to college in Madison! I spent many weekends there when I was visiting friends and we would hang out! I love all of your videos. You have a very calm voice and I love that you don't slap paint on everything that you come across just because you can! This video was awesome because it so reminded me of my grandparents. I swear to you I could smell my grandma getting ready to go into town when I saw some of the pieces. I could hear my grandpa's laugh and remember dancing with him (standing on his toes) when I saw the stereo cabinet! Thank you for this! You warmed my heart! ♥️

Just a note on Hoosier cabinets: Manufacture of this type of baking cabinet actually began in the 1800's. By 1920 (the height of their popularity), the Hoosier company alone had sold more than two million units. Hoosier was neither the first nor the only manufacturer, but it was probably the most prolific. For people who actually USE their kitchens, they are an amazingly functional design.

I lived in Columbus for almost 10 years and visited this antique mall often. The one piece of advice I always gave to people was this: start as far up & away from the entrance as possible for two reasons. The first is a matter of real estate: the same item will be less expensive at a booth further from the door, because the cost for the booth itself is less (statistically, those nearest the door get the most attention/traffic) but number two, and I always stressed this one as most important: after a while, you will reach your visual input capacity. This mall is HUGE and there is JUST. SO. MUCH. STUFF. If when this happens, you start to panic or feel anxious (and a good portion of people experience this, at least just a little) the closer you are to the exit, the better! Then I'd smile a reassuring smile, and tell them "start on the third floor with the furniture".

I live outside Ripon and am considering a visit next time I'm down toward Madison. I use a similar strategy most of the time, but I'm definitely keeping your advice in mind! It's so hard to find good places for furniture that aren't hideously overpriced. This one looks like a gem!

I saw two things I simply loved. The 50s plant stand on legs and a tall 50s table lamp a few booths down, well there were several lamps in that booth I wanted, lol. Later I think I saw a pink flamingo picture. I too have been looking for an art deco radio. Here I see them for $75-125. Thanks for letting us tag along. It was fun.

Great video. I loved the vintage $238 buffet, the small inlaid wooden table, and the barrister's bookcases. I'm 61. Back in the 1960s, my father bought a stereo "hi-fi." When he had a stroke in the 1990s, I threw it out as a hunk of junk. I should have kept it based on the price I saw for one in this video.😊
