- Опубликовано: 19 ноя 2022
- I visited the LARGEST Antique Mall in Wisconsin! This is PART 2 of the TOUR. This Mall is a great place to find antiques, vintage collectibles, furniture, books, glassware, toys, and so much more. Whether you are a collector, or looking to buy and sell furniture for a profit, this is a great place to find what you are looking for. Buying and Selling furniture and collectibles is a great way to pay off student loans, credit card debt, or medical bills. In this video, I will walk through the 2nd level of the mall, looking through all of the household items, art, old tools, toys, and vintage clothing. If you enjoy this content, be sure to subscribe to the channel and stay tuned for Part 3 where I will finish walking through the vintage and antique collectibles on the other levels. Thank you for all your support. Barry

This Antique Mall Experience has been exciting to share. I hope you are enjoying it so far, and as always, thank you so much for the support! Barry
Still a little too fast, but this place is not for deals. You could get educated there though. Did you see my comment about glass? Also that BLUE dish I couldn't pass up, just for the color alone. That color mesmerizes me. Hope you got that little red lamp, it was worth 15.
It's so funny you're looking for an art deco radio because I just saw one on FB marketplace but its out here in NYC
Mc Coy pottery, please. I saw a blue Mc Coy planter in your opening scene.
Thanks for doing these! It's fascinating
Another GREAT video. I really appreciate how you are briefly covering all the different types of collectables as I am from a family who’s motto is “If you have more then two of something, it’s a collection.” Over my 65 years we all have collected various items and then sold them off as our interests have changed. The time you are taking to showcase items you are not personally interested in collecting is refreshing and shows you are a very curious person. I find curious people are the most interesting.
You’re expansion of content can not hurt. We all love your restoration but this just gives us a different look at the vintage world. Live in the twin cities but I might just have to make a trip there 😉!
Wow, thank you!
Barry, I love that you say, "I am not trying to stretch out these videos, sometimes my eyes just hurt". I felt that! Your narration is like velvet in my ears 🤗
haha. thank you. it was the truth
Nice conversation with you today Barry. I saw a Precious Moments figure set in one of the booth you visited. Scanned the rest of the booth to make sure the one I'm searching for wasn't there. The examples of the glassware is remarkable. I love the colors and the variety. Look forward to part 3 of this series. And the pink lidded jar you touched at beginning of the video, I shall one day inherit from my grandma via my mom.
These antique mall videos are awesome! Thanks for slowing down so we can see more. My Mom is 97 and still getting around great, but walking this place would bee too much, so seeing the things that were around when she was young is fun for both of us and I’m 68. We love your furniture renovations and have been watching those videos for a couple years. We enjoy your sense of humor in the narrations, too. Thanks for giving us so much to watch and take care always. Janet and Eva.
Without your filming the glasswares and other items we your viewers would never see the beautiful pieces. Thank you! The old wall phones were amazing.
Thank you so much
What's the next best thing than going antiquing yourself??? Watch this MCM video series!!!
BOUNUS....YOU REALLY GET TO KNOW BARRY ON A WHOLE NEW LEVEL...love your sense of humor!!! Keep these types of videos coming !
Haha. Hope you enjoy the new vid today
"That's all I have to say about that." You are so sweet and gentle. Maybe not what you want to hear about yourself.
This made me smile
I am a mother of four young adult sons who are still at home. I border on being a minimalist in the way that I like very few decorations and prefer my home to look uncluttered and rather empty. BUT watching this series has really made me appreciate the few precious vintage and antique belongings I have and has made me want to introduce my sons to collecting beautiful things from the era of 'they just dont make them like that any more.' I intend to take them all to an antique mall near us and show them how many amazing things they can find, much like in this antique mall. Thank you for sharing this great series!
I love this. Thank you for sharing
IMO, it is best to keep videos short, but create multiple parts. Thanks Barry. Great job on this and the penny challenge. I really love this tour of the thrift shop in the detail you are going thru.
Thank you Steve!
Barry you are the nicest person to take the time to do this video for the people who watch your videos.
The metal Clydesdale beer wagon reminded me of putting a plastic model of it together some 50 years ago, thank you
Walter
This made my day. Thank you. Barry
Sir, no need to apologize for how long it takes to film this kind of video, anyone who goes antiquing totally understands how long it can take, besides you're the only one I've watched so far who actually shows us what is available without rushing through to fast, so thank you most kindly.
I really liked this section! I kept yelling, “What’s that thing to the left?” Or “ Wait, wait, what’s on the bottom shelf right there?” Lol but you did a good job showing everything. You can’t stop and show every item. I have an old hand drill like the one you looked at, but mine is frozen up for some reason. Can’t wait for the next part🐝🤗❤️
This made me laugh
@@MadCityModern Oh good! Don’t you talk to your phone? No? Oh well…🐝🤗❤️
As a dealer for over 5 years at the antique mall I loved your videos! You showed items in 2 of your videos from all 3 of my booths!
Wow! This is so cool! Thank you Kyle. Barry
Thank you, Barry. For taking us along on this series it is interesting to see the antiques from this view. Much appreciated!
Thank you Cassandra. New video today
*When the first part was broadcast, there was still beautiful sunny weather.*
*Now winter has come to us too.*
*Beautiful items, thank you for sharing this shopping trip with us.*
*Regards*
Exactly! Good catch
Allen, Michigan, near where I live, has the largest antique malls I've ever seen. It takes days to enjoy all the yesteryear sights and memory walking tours of the many old and new buildings. I'm in my seventies so I grew up with what people genuinely and affectionately call antique. I have always loved old stuff. My husband does, too, so we take our mini mind vacations from this present time period to the yesteryear malls to relax/remember/refocus on fond memorys of the past. Thank you for being who you are and for what you do to help us reconnect with our past. My husband also does some furniture repair and refinish but we rarely sell anything because I keep falling in love with the pieces once finished. Our greatest fear is that we won't live long enough to repair all the antique and vintage furniture we have collected.
I love the shorter videos. I simply don't have time to get thru a long one. Thank you for this video I love to just browse thru vintage things.
This is great feedback
THANK YOU FOR THE ENJOYABLE PART 2 TOUR OF THIS AMAZING ANTIQUE MALL!!! I LOVE THE ANTIQUE LANTERNS, VINTAGE TOYS, DISHES , AND THE GLASS WARE IS SO IMPRESSIVE!!!
FUN TELEPHONES AND BEAUTIFUL FUR COATS!!!
I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR PART 3 TOUR!!!
ENJOY ROUR POST BOX PURCHASE!!!💖💖💖💖💖
Another great tour video. My great grandfather was in Life magazine in an ad for presidents of the various Bell telephone companies so I always look through those and pick up that issue when I find it. Also the bird Avon bottles are always of interest to me as my grandfather made the molds for those at Owens Illinois in Alton, Illinois it’s always fun to see his work is still out there. Thanks for all you do
Wow. This is so interesting. Thank you for sharing. New video today
I'm enjoying this content a lot. I have to say that I got a smile on my face when you were looking at the "vintage" clothing that I might have worn back in the day. I guess that makes me vintage also which is better than being old or a senior citizen. It is nice to see all the mid century items that my parents bought that I still have and the prices that dealers are asking for them. Thanks for the tour.
I absolutely love antique malls like this. WOW! What a glass collection!!!
Thank you
Thank u soo much for not adding music. Silence is golden.
I appreciate that feedback
I love going to the antique malls there is so much stuff there. I have never seen so much Viking glass in one place though. Some nice pretties to say the least. You have a great day
So glad you enjoyed this one!
Thank you so much for the tour of the antique mall! I used to this weekly with my daughter. She has set up her own Etsy store and does very well with it. Can't wait to see the next one and the up coming refinishing video.
Love this. Hope you enjoy the new video today
Wow! That was just as incredible as Part 1. 😁 Having seen a couple of examples in this video, I know exactly what I would be looking to purchase at a place like this: Well made and well-weighted book ends, preferably in a classic design. I didn't care for the baby booties or the sleeping Mexicans. 😂 The glassware was amazing, though.😲😍 I am really loving this. See you for Part 3. 😊💛👍
Wow! this is great. thank you for the reply Noralee
I visited a couple of antique malls today myself. Your video has been a fun continuation of my treasure hunting!
I saw some reference or advertisement for that same mall online a few weeks ago and found myself wondering if Barry had made the trip there. Then I thought, there's no way he would miss it!
I'm loving this series Barry, I would be here for days just looking at all this cool stuff!!! From your first video in this series I understood why you were here - I took myself off to one of our local antique stores for my birthday too; you never know what treasures you'll find!
I also very much appreciated your focus on giving those with mobility concerns, a chance to 'shop with you' - that was very empathetic and thoughtful.
In this video, I would have purchased the lovey sculpture of the young starlet/debutant in the red dress shown early on in the video...I love the glamour of it!
Looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe 😊
So glad you are enjoying this. The next episode will be out soon
I'm very much enjoying this series. Bringing back many memories, seeing items Mom or Aunt's had in there homes. I'm 72, so loving this. Your voice is very calming making this video even better. Thank you 😊
👀 I'm always looking for the oddball fiesta dinnerware pieces! 👀 thought that I saw some in a flyby! Thanks Barry, this looks like a fun and fabulous treasure hunt!
Oh that sounds fun!
Yup, did you catch the blue Fiesta pitcher lamp? I had to stop the video to look!
C. Finch I did see that turquoise lamp!
Not only a break, but to expand ideas and your overall knowledge and design sources
Thank you Richard
I would totally make this a destination vacation place
Thanks again, Barry. This was a really good outing today; one I really needed. Happy to say I kept within budget.
Glad you enjoyed this!
Omg the glassware is my favorite! I was drooling 🤤
Mine too
I bet if you went back the next day you would see stuff you never saw before. There is so much!
exactly! I actually saw things in the video that I don't remember seeing when i was there
I like Antique Malls because they are part museum!
Well said!
Loved that advice about starting as far away from the exit as possible, both to find better prices, and also to be closer to the exit - and escape! - “when you do become overwhelmed”. Brilliant! 😂
I loved it when she said it
@Luca Angelo hi Luca! I’m currently in TN helping out my elderly parents, who are both in Assisted Living. Normally I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. My mom used to have a booth at a much smaller shop here in TN, to sell the many antiques she got from her parents, and from her Aunt and Uncle, who were world travelers. They all lived in rural MI. Even after all this time and many sales, we still have quite a lot of glassware and china left, which my sister and I will eventually need to deal with. So it’s interesting to me to see what is at the store, some price ranges, and what other people find interesting. Mostly I’m looking here as a stress relief from the work with my parents, and my own graduate school studies. It’s beautiful, and interesting as well as educational!
Hope you are well, too, Luca!
The newspaper from 1947 interested me as that was the year I was born - a very good year!
Awesome. Hope you enjoy the video today
It nice for you to take your time and give the viewer a chance to see stuff. Your back ground information is nice addition.
Barry this was a great series. The P.O. Box cover was the highlight. I enjoy everything you post of your experiences .
Thank you Keith. New video out today
Here's my take on all that stuff: the children of the roaring 20s became the children of the depression and WWII. "Frugality" was their way of life. They didn't replace or discard; they fixed all their stuff until it couldn't be repaired. Broken or torn items were kept to repair their other meager belongings. However, when times got better, they started splurging on a "few" newer items, including home decor. They also held onto everything they originally had out of the fear they would return to poverty and all that stuff might "just come in handy some day." At least it would be "passed down" to future generations. My mother was no exception. When she died, only 3 family members wanted a total of 5 of her items. Everything else was sold, donated, and 58 bags of trash went to the landfill. So sad, but it was the complexity of being born in prosperous times only to see it taken away and having to wonder from where their next meal would come. And, if that wasn't enough, they were called upon to rid the globe of a Marxist tyrant. I give them a total pass on "stuff."
OMGoodness I love all that coloured glass. Love shops like this.
Hope you enjoy the new episode Friday
Thanks for the tour. I haven't been antiquing for some time ... even prepandemic because 2 of my go-to stores went out of business before 2019. What I really want to find is a few pairs of bookends. Not too common nowadays and the ones I've seen online are beyond my budget + then some. Looking forward to part 3. If you ever want to do this series again in the future, I'm here for it!
Barry I really love this type of video. I hope you do more in the future. Only problem is, it makes me want to run out to antique malls the next day and spend lots of money.. Lol... 😊
Glad you enjoyed this!
Thanks for the shop along...you're patience with letting us view different items and see prices is much appreciated. I enjoy voice overs, they seem much more relaxed and informative...to me they enhance the experience. I can't stop seeing a face in the cabinet at 0:30... always make me smile. Mr. Bloke was a feed suggestion (I guess youtube thought I follow you so I might like his channel also) and the organizer he made seemed genius but I asked myself where would I be able to source a mail box door? You found one on a shelf so they must be out there...an internet deep dive may be required. 😊 I don't really collect much but I have some items that I prefer to look at and I think reselling will be in my future. Again, thank you for the video and I look forward to part three.😊
Thank you so much. Barry
I haven't been to thé US for thé last 17 years and these last two vidéos make me want to Hope on a plane and visit américain antique stores! Thank you Barry, can't wait to sée more😃
Thank you so much
For whatever it's worth, videos that are about 15 to 20 minutes are ideal for me. I certainly have the attention span for much longer videos, but all too often I don't have the time to spend watching something 60 minutes long - I'm not retired yet. Someone else in this thread suggested breaking up longer videos into parts, and I think that's a great idea.
It’s not only a question of money but of space 😊
Yes!
That was amazing. All that beautiful coloured glass. I wasn't surprised when you claimed the sweet little red desk lamp. I also would have found it irresistable.
Thank you Jenny. New episode Friday
Wow.. was that a trip down memory lane! So many items that I once had. I have my great great grandmother's coffee grinder identical to the one in this video. I use it daily, makes the best precious coffee
Thank you Neil! New video out today!
I appreciate your methodical sensibility and approach .
Thank you
Like I said, I would need semi to take stuff home. The colored glass rooster was amazing!
I get overwhelmed sometimes : )
Cool. A walk through memory lane for sure. I see many items that were present in my parents and grandparent's homes.
So glad you enjoyed this Debbie
Wow! Take your time. So many things to see. This is what I love. Hubby and I collect 2 specific things, but we enjoy the hunt. I was blown away at all the beautiful glass in the last section...😍 Alas, I already have enough inherited beautiful and quirky glass, but it's great to marvel and be stunned for a moment. ❤❤❤
I love this
I would love to go shopping with you Barry!! My grandfather had a hand-cranked drill just like the one you showed. Brought back some great memories. Thank you! ❤
Thank you for sharing this! Barry
I have one of those too! It used to be red on the handle, but that’s mostly worn away. I used mine all the time until it froze up on me🐝🤗❤️
I still absolutely LOVE that leather saddle seat from the first video visit to this store! I'd definitely get lost in it!
I’m glad you’re stretching this out instead of doing one long video. It’s exciting to look forward to the next one. Also, I follow so many channels, I can’t spend one hour on one video. Or at least I mostly choose not to.
PS It was oddly satisfying to hear you are not in the market for vintage women’s clothing.
Thanks so much for all the work you put into these videos!
Thank you for this great feedback. New video today
Thanks for sharing this video Barry! At 74 years of age, many "old" items were new when I first saw them. It was fun to reminisce. I remember the butter churn at my aunt and uncle's home because they had dairy cattle and made their own butter. I remember the Hoosier (Indiana - Who's your neighbor) that we had and mom used daily. There are so many things to see and touch.! Great video! George from Florida
I found this video like walking through memory lane. Enjoyed your subtle humor...or at least I took several comments that way.
Glad you enjoyed this Linda. Thank you for the support. Barry
J'adore ! Quel plaisir de se balader avec toi dans les allées de ce Mall 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much
I live in Wisconsin and have been to this malllots of times. It’s always a treat for the eyes and I have to touch everything too! I thought I was the only one who does that!
I love colored glass!! Amber glass is my favorite. I have a ton of the ruby red glass!! That blue glass is gorgeous
Those are 2 of my fav colors
Thanks for taking us along on your trip - always fun to go to the antique mall. Given enough opportunity and space, my house would be full of display shelves to showcase my finds and have room to add more.
Thank you for this feedback
Love this tour!! Thank you for slowing down and not moving the camera fast, it helps so much!! I wish we had one of these antique malls where I live!! Cheers :)
Thank you so much. New video coming out today
Glass & vintage radios ❤️
My favorites
Thanks for taking us with you!
Thank you Lynne
Wow, what a place! Wish I had one like that in my neighbourhood. Thanks for the tour! 🌷
Thank you Lena
Hello Barry, this mall is a world of treasures 🤩
Exactly. Glad you enjoyed
I think bite sized videos of this is better. Enjoying it so far thanks
Great feedback
Thank you for the series on the Columbus Antique Mall. I appreciate the comment about 'having an escape route' and laughed. Good idea! I'm from Milwaukee and my favorite antique mall was The Milwaukee Antique Center in downtown. It was multi-level, in a wonderful old building, but closed years ago.
I would have loved to see that
I like the funky shaped glass dishes you found , I always like things that are different !
Those are also some of my favorites
Thank you for sharing this with us. Brings back so many good memories. 👍
Thank you. New video out today
Thank ypu for the tandem tour. Saw lot's of things i would😅 love to have
❤
Your voice is so relaxing, I enjoy your content regardless but I do enjoy the calming effect of the voice over 😊
Ohhh how fun Barry!!
I’m really enjoying browsing along with you ☺️
This is so fun
Sorry I missed the end. The tone on the set of ruby glasses & bottle at 17:02 is divine ❤ Thnk you Barry. Good night.
Thank you for joining the chat!
@@MadCityModern Did my xmas card & letter arrive yet? Royal Mail has been striking and I just wondered if you got it yet? I love your channel. Such good fun .
I really liked the silver deer dish . And there was a lamp right next to it that was lovely.
Thanks again. We joyed watching it and particularly like the old radios. We have some ourselves.
Thank you so much
Love going shopping with you Barry! 😊
Thank you : )
I want the fancy blue glass pieces. Have the little blue vase & giant blue base....the giant was a green stamp item in the 60s!
they are so fun to look for in thrift stores and at yard sales
Fascinating! I do understand why your eyes would hurt after awhile, especially in the more crowded sections;-). I'm looking forward to part 3!
Coming out Friday
Another great video, narrated so well. I feel as if I'm in this antique mall myself. It's fun to see those classic Tonka trucks. As much as I enjoy the glassware, it sends me to sensory overload fast. I do appreciate how much you show here. I look forward to seeing Part 3 Barry!
Thank you Steven
I love everything 😍 The ladies hats reminded me of the ones worn in Andy Griffith show by older ladies
Hope you enjoy the new video today
What an amazing antique mall! The mid century glassware booth near the end was my fabulous!! There were so many pieces that would look great in my collection. 😍
Antique malls are like museums where you can touch and buy the “artifacts”.
Yes : )
I was so happy to see you grab that little red lamp! That just made me happy looking at it! Again, it would take days for me to get out of that warehouse! Lol! Looking forward to the next part. Take care and blessings!
Thank you. Hope you enjoy the new video today
wow, there sure was a lot of stuff. thanks for taking us along
Thank you Joyce
I bought one of those bicentennial flags when I visited Boston 30 years ago. Ended up giving it to my brother-in-law.
Love this!
Good heavens Barry, so much stuff my head hurt! I would be lost in there for days! My favs are the orange mid century serving dish and the orange swan dish. Also loved some of the glassware. Thanks for showing me around.
Another video coming out today 🤣
OMG, Barry! Your comments when you got to the pink dress. 😂 You crack me up. You're always so incredibly respectful and word things in a way that basically encourages kindness. I enjoy the humor you add too! 😂 You have a very clever, understated wit, which I totally appreciate.
I kept an eye out but didn't see any Frankoma, a line of pottery and tableware that was made in Oklahoma. I've got an extensive collection that began with a wagonwheel water pitcher from my grandmother. I'm sure you walked past lots of it. Thanks for another tour. In your first video I'd swear you walked past on the first floor a solid oak Stickley chair with dark green cushions. I used to have a set of Stickley living room furniture, but sold it to take the vacation of a lifetime with my late husband. It was a good decision. I enjoy these trips through the mall. I'd probably be overstimulated talking it all in, but I do so love antique stores. Thanks for taking us along. Cheers from Oklahoma!
Wow. I've never heard of it
I would have loved to go through that mall. I love the glassware, and there was some other things I liked.
Hope you enjoy the next episode
I wish there was a place like that near me. I could never afford the furniture pieces but I'd love looking at the smaller items and all the beautiful glassware. I've really enjoyed the 2 videos. Tfs
Thank you. Hope you enjoy the new vid today
Awesome! Can't wait for pt 3! I loved the Ice chest. Those are my favorite. Hope to own one someday.
Thank you so much
Now there's some sweet goodies
We just went there this weekend because of your fun part 1. so much to see we will have to return of course. I did find a few smaller Haeger planters that match some of the other things i already have, and the vases were amazing!
This is incredible! I went there Saturday. Maybe we crossed paths : )
@@MadCityModern how funny! We traveled from a distance and the weather delayed us and we started upstairs in furniture and worked out way down. I liked that orange mid century dish but it was a bit pricey for me. Happy antiquing and thanks for the great idea!!
I'm really enjoying this tour and I can't wait for pt3👍. It certainly looks like you'd have to pack a lunch when you go there. It must be a bit overwhelming after a while.
Thank you Deb. Part 3 is out today
Your head must have sinned!
I liked the glassware, especially red and green. Thanks for the tour. 🥳
Thank you Carol
I just loved all the glassware, so pretty!
More in the new video today
