I bought one of these rifles a few months after you got the second rifle, and it lost headspace in 600 rounds. I sent it in and got it back and its chamber was so rough you could see the machine marks and rough texture with the naked eye. It was so marred that the rifle wouldnt cycle and shredded brass -- I still dont believe they even tested it before sending it back to me. Parted ways with it the instant it got back to me for the second time a couple months ago. At around the same time that rifle went down, my 103's front trunnion came loose because they don't dimple their receivers into their front trunnions. My experience with my 103 had sold me on the 101, so its kinda funny that it failed as soon as I started dabbling in their 5.56 offerings. These problems are outrageous regardless of price, but considering what they do charge for these rifles its unacceptable on a fundamental level. Makes me feel bad for their customer service department, I'm sure they get hell from customers because their QC is nonexistent.
That's what happened with the original gun, but they fixed mine, tand the second one worked well, but as they say. "Shit happens" When you produce probably 10k rifles a month I'm sure alot of shit slips through the cracks For the price it's bs, the folders are 1k+ and the standard are 700$ its really not a good price tbh
@@agoodenoughgunner6698 Yeah, im sure the majority of these rifles are fine, it just feels really bad when you get one that fell through the cracks twice and then have another one break because they cut corners. Just expected better of PSA :/
Sick speech brah. But for real, I really wanted one of these PSA 5.56 AKs, but after watching your first video and following the story, I may just stick with being patient. EVENTUALLY I expect them to release one with a premium 5.55 barrel like they did with the premium 103 which is what I'd be really interested in.
mine is a low number, not 16, but relatively low. I've taken it to 2 large matches and had zero issues with it. I love mine. I hope they make a chf/cl version
I bought what you would call a “gen 2” 101 back in may. Rifle has been phenomenal. Lug wear looks good, rifle seems to be gassed properly, chamber is smooth. I have been satisfied with it for $700 with 10 mags.
Thank you for giving honest reviews on psa and not joining the circle jerk. I hope they become a great company and I pray 556 ak’s become more popular and mags become standardized so I can buy one with confidence.
The 103 that was in RegularGuyTraining's video was mine. As far as PSA goes I'm 0 for 7. Every single one has had to get fixed. Some of them have gone back multiple times(my 74's went back 4 or 5 times). Both my "Premium" 103's have had to get fixed. Fuck then. I hope others have a better experience than me. Btw good rant at the end
I've been eyeballing an AK 101. Thanks for sharing your experience. Last year I acquired two of the JRA Gaill/Gallants from Classic Firearms and they've been good so far. 2024 is gonna be a shit show. Good luck to you!
I just received my ak 101, I put 220 rounds in it and the wear doesnt seem too bad. I could send you the pictures if you want. I will say that in 220 rounds it didnt have any malfunctions.
@@laddy3916 keep in mind, the PSA will likely need to be sent back for repairs and the Beryl will probably never fail. If you're only ever going to buy one 556 AK, I would probably make it the Beryl. Or honestly just spend $1000 and get a 556 WBP, WBP are probably the best AK for the money out there. Outstanding quality.
I got a newer 101 and it was a dream for the first 1000 to 1200 rounds then outta no where accuracy completely left the chat like went from sub 2 inches at 100 to lucky to hit a 8x8 steel at 100 literally tried everything so i sent it back and psa has had it longer than i owned it going on like 4 months now.
Ordered my 101 after watching your series of reviews, and funnily enough the first thing my coworker told me when I mentioned it was that it was going to blow up and kill me lol

I'm really glad you are actually giving these rifles attention when nobody else is. I'd still like an update in a few months because I do wanna see how serious of a rifle these are. Hope you will do videos on the 300BLK PSAK whenever they do come out as well. You sir have earned a new sub, great videos.
I have a 102 I’ve had to send back twice. I got it back the second time like 8 months ago… I have maybe 3500 rounds thru it since it’s been back 1400 of them suppressed.. it’s been running good but the right side of the bolt face isn’t looking like normal wear on my other 556 aks
I have an early 102, sent it back to PSA bc the chamber was out of spec. They fixed that issue but it still gives me light primer strikes. Might send it back or just sell it and get a WBP or Arsenal.

Bro I need to know what flash hider are you running and is it 1/2x28 with the clamp. I’ve been trying to find a flash suppressor and I don’t know where to look. For the ak101
Ok cool yeah. Had to send my 101 back for warranty service and knock on wood, been working well since and have installed a bunch of aftermarket furniture to include the dogleg. 300 rounds or so with no issue but PSA makes me nervous lol @@agoodenoughgunner6698

I love my country, but the current state its in is unacceptable, and the constant theft and transfer of wealth to foreign entities is unacceptable behavior for a nation such as ours. There is nowhere better, but that doesn't justify the poor state of our country and the idot people in charge.
You do realize that flash hider creates a significant amount of back pressure on a rifle length AK? Probably didn't help with the internals beating themselves to death😅 I mean unless that rifle was horribly undergassed to begin with and forgive me if it was then i would suggest switching to a different style of flash hider
