#PodSquad - watching this channel to me is exactly how Rob describes his summer vacations. Through all the hard times I could come here and just experience joy, hilarity, and that feeling of “lightness” that you don’t find on many channels.
Seeing how much you all enjoy your jobs inspired me to take that step and leave my past career for something I am passionate about. First day is this Monday! Wish me luck!

#podsquad I'm 34 now and this podcast made me think of my childhood and teens and this podcast actually made me tear up with nostalgia
I remember spending a fair few summers with my sister playing co-op on Bubble Bobble & also PS1 Classic Fighting Force those were some really good summer holiday memories.
Persona 5 this was the last summer game I played in the summer before I went to a four year uni and I played that game everyday, knew that city more than my own.
Spent an entire summer playing that game, its so long.
The last “summer” I had before I started working was back in 2009 and our family still had the PS2. I remember playing through Persona 4. LOVED IT. And went to find a friend who owned Persona 3 and played through that as well. Best times!!!
I'm old!! Rosie had a 6 week summer hols to play Bloodborne. My memories of the Borne, involve me being a father to our first child and working full time! 😅
I was a very active kid mountain biking climbing trees playing footy I was out all the time but when I was 16 I plugged an Ethernet cable into the back of my 360 and couldn’t stop playing COD4 online, after that I got a PS4 and got hooked on trophies! Never looked back, I love gaming!
Last day, of class everyone signed everyone's shirts. Doing nothing for that last day. Sort of reminds me of that scene in Shawshank when they all sat on the roof with those beers. For a little moment, feeling like free men hahah!
Summer holidays always felt like an eternity. Then, coming back after the break and a few people turned into full-on adults, 8ft tall with man voice.
@Rosie: Kamorocho does not exist per se. Like GTA, it's an adaptation of a real district of Tokyo, which is called "Kabukicho".
It's like saying that you would love to visit Los Santos or Vice City once instead of Los Angeles or Miami.
Well its winter in Australia. And I like snowy/christmas games in July like Arkham Origins, Mafia 2 and Skyrim😊

I always remember I used to spend a week at my auntie and uncles in summer as a kid. and one summer my uncle had a new PlayStation 1, and FF7. I was hooked immediately. got stuck on Airbuster (i was about 10) but loved the game. I had to wait til xmas that year to get play the game again as i got it as my game with our new PlayStation. it is now still my favourite game ever. i just got Aerith's flower basket as a tattoo 💗
The first 5 minutes is demonstrating why this is one of the greatest youtube channels.

When Ash said she would take ‘Control’ to the desert island i audible gasped in excitement, such an amazing game, glad to hear it getting love, if you could take one honourable mention I’d suggest ‘Yokus Island Escape’ great little adventure game not to hard and has some good laughs.

My favorite games to play with my brother during the summer were Smackdown vs Raw 2008, Marvel Nemesis, and the OG Star Wars Battlefront.
I love Rosie's movie to video game idea!! Add Spirited Away RPG to things I will always long for now (along with Avatar the Last Airbender open world)
Something I never knew I wanted until I heard it, pretty awesome idea.
Some games that I enjoyed playing alot over the summer are Alien Isolation and Resident Evil 7. The two games are different from one another, but both are good survival horror games.

For me it was Digimon World 3 in one special Sommer years ago.
We just got a Nintendo Wii and had also the PS2 for a while and my younger siblings played more with those systems, so the PS1 was practically abandoned by them.
For those that don't know about DW3, its a Digimon RPG and the grinding in that game is simply hardcore. Literally 100s of hours!
So I could never get the PS1 for a lot of time, because I was not the a$$hole brother at that time. My patience back then really surprised me.
I then picked up the PlayStation, went to a different room with it that had a TV (which was our unoccupied Guest Bedroom) and got to play DW3 like I never played it before.

I’m a secondary school Computer Science teacher, I have no kids, I spend all summer playing PS5, it is wonderful
Endling is excellent.. a really tear jerker
How about a Shawshank redemption game? Playing the long game to successfully escape, having replayability as there are so manybdifferent ways of doing it and you can trial and error your way to loads of different escapes. Think Bully style minigames to build character in prison whilst planning, evil genius style in the evening.
I would love a COD Zombies stream with the team!!

The game i remember playing in the summer after school was a game called Disruptor. I think it was Insomniacs first game? Absolutely loved playing this game.
Tony Hawk pro skater was the one for me. I was 14 when that came out and skating was my life. If I wasn't outside falling on my arse, I was inside sitting on it playing this game.

I've been playing Crash Team Rumble non-stop this Summer. My Summers are always best spent playing multiplayer games. Hours blaze past and you don't even feel it.

Uncharted was a good mention too! Uncharted 1 is such a gooooood summer game (probably bc of the tropical setting) and it actually was the season I first got into the series a few years ago!

I vividly remember doing the GTA V Pacific Standard Heist with friends almost every night one summer
I’d just like to say to Dave: There IS a point and click detective noir Blade Runner game on the PS4 right now! It’s a remaster of one that came out in the 90s but it’s still great. Way ahead of its time!
A Pacific Rim game could be so amazing and multidimensional… oh my god, I’m not gonna be able to stop thinking about that concept 😭
I just went through all the uncharted games except I’m half way through lost legacy last month for the first time it was absolutely amazing
Its not exactly a summer game but I have two games I associate with the summer. One have been out for quite a while now and the other came out last year. The first one is mgs4. I just have fond memories of playing it in the summer when it came out because it was released in the summer but I just remember playing it during the day and then later taking it over my friends house and having him play it during the night and thats just a good memory for me and the second game is Elden Ring I played that game for like a solid 9 months straight it was the only game I played I haven't had a game be like that for a long time and I just really enjoyed the parts I was at in the summer last year when I was working away on my plat for it.
I think a Spirited Away style puzzle/adventure game is a great idea! I've always thought that setting had a lot of promise beyond just the story of the film.
As for Dave, there actually is a fairly well-regarded Blade Runner game from 1997, an old-school point-and-clicker. Its only 5 bucks on the PS store.

Looks like my summer games this year will be MGS Peace Walker which I will hopefully still be able to finish playing this week and then either MGS5 or MGS2 Sons of Liberty. I'm currently so hyperfixated on this series, my brain finds it hard to focus on anything that isn't related to MGS. 😅
Simpsons hit and run is a legendary summer game for me. So good!!

When i think of summer games i think of a PS1 classic... International track and field 😊
I think for me, my summer game was probably the Civilization games. A full game took about a day, so either alone or with my uni mates, it would be a lazy Saturday.
Also, all the PS2 GTA games. I remember in GTA San Andreas, I would spend hours playing the taxi driver minigame. I knew how to drive around that fictional city better than my own city.
Anyone else waiting for Exoprimal next week for that to be their summer game? Lol. I wont exist to my friends once that game comes out 😂
Rob needs to play Lord of the Rings The Third Age (if he hasn't already) go through all 3 movies as a fellowship akin to original who are travelling around and end up being around the same places at the same time. And when you beat the game you unlock evil mode where you do everything in reverse as Orcs/Uruk hai. Oh and it plays exactly like FFX
I fear my gaming summers consisted of Colecovision, Commodore 64, and Intellivision XD Although, I do remember spending countless hours playing video games and ttrpgs. So understand the excitement.

My summer game of now is Final Fantasy 16 and speaking of holiday locations, I'd love to be a part of Valisthea, even with all the bad things happening there.
My summer games of the past were NFS Underground 2/Most Wanted, Prince of Persia 2008, and Persona 5. Unlocking everything, defeating every Blacklist, the awesome police chases in NFS. Listening to beautiful music while collecting light seeds in PoP. And doing every single thing in Persona 5, just existing in that world was great. Good times!
At the moment on my channel I'm playing FF16 & Burnhouse Lane. I recommend Burnhouse Lane to Ash

While not traditional Summer weather and I was fearing the leccy might go off, playing through an epic FFXVI boss battle last night with a thunderstorm raging outside was kinda cool.
Also, re. roast dinners. I'd liken it to wearing a coat indoors, you wont feel the benefit
Dave, you should definitely play Alan Wake. It's more of a thriller and you definitely get sections to breathe as opposed to can't hardly breathe RE4 remake or true horror game.
in Australia summer is Xmas time. so yeah..... lots of 'summer games' here are released before Xmas I guess?

Im over here in California in 40° C. How hot is it over there?
Currently it's 17°C, its not bad at the moment, the heatwave is current gone but what makes UK heat actually bad is the humidity and also no air conditioning. Basically you need a drink every like 30 minutes, even then you melt like a snowman over here where as most places that are hot are just hot which doesn't really seem that bad.

My favourite game of the summer on PS5 was The Jumping Taco. Just crazy how good it runs on PS5 and a total bargain at £1.19.
