- Liechtenstein is the sixth smallest country in the world (roughly the size of Washington, D.C.). It has a historic castle, bustling downtown, vineyard, and some of the most memorable hiking in the Alps. Vaduz is the nation’s capital and where you will most likely start your Liechtenstein adventure. It’s the starting point for the Via Alpina (www.alpenwild.com/trip/via-al...) and where you can get your passport stamped (at the Tourism Office). For the best hiking, you’ll head to the charming resort town of Malbun. Don’t forget to try the national dish of Käsknöpfle!

Very professionally produced video. Way ahead of even the so called 'official' videos on RUclips. Thanks for this very informative video. Your narration is awesome. Looking forward to the day I'll visit with my kids.
I've had the good fortune to have visited Liechtenstein twice in my life; very pretty, clean and efficient little country. I can also recommend a visit to Luxembourg for those interested in small nations.
What a beautiful country! I had a friend from Liechtenstein. I had a crush on him, he was a prince! Kind, polite and handsome. Never forget he was the first guy to ever give me a gift. I was only 14-year-old. and so ugly. hahahaha. Would like to visit this country one day. Who knows...
Yeah sure he was

@@cricketlovers2522😅😅😂😂😂😂😂
I wish i could visit this country
If I could only live in one country for the rest of my life I’d choose Lichtenstein
Same because it is very beautiful and peaceful.
Amazing place
Wow, I learned so much from this video on Liechtenstein! It's amazing how such a small country has such a rich and complex history. If you're interested in learning more about Liechtenstein, I highly recommend
'A Journey Through Liechtenstein's Fascinating History' by Lea Marie Nigg.
It's a beautiful and informative book that offers a unique perspective on Liechtenstein's history.
I'm not into wine or alcoholic drinks in general. However, those Mountain views look intoxicating on screen.
soo pretty
beautifull place. Plese visit.
Beautiful sky look,,,,,❤️❤️❤️
What a lovely and wonderful country. I am planning to visit this country soon InshaAllah.
I had no idea this placed existed until today! How could this place avoid my attention for so long, lawd I feel so stupid
Definitely adding this place to my list
A national dish without any meat, perfect way to save/make money on a dish when tourists comes along 😂
I saw the Liechtenstein army marching through Vaduz the other day. He seemed like a nice person to be fair to him.
🤣 Actually, Liechtenstein does not have any army, air force, or navy of its own. A neutral country (like Switzerland) and a very peaceful place.
@@AlpenwildDon't tell Putin 😮😂
@Alpenwild Well, I was fairly certain it did not have a NAVY!!
Hoping to go there one day when I’m visiting western Austria. Did you drive while there? Or just walk or trains?
There is a local bus system that can take you most anyplace you want to go. In most of my trips to Liechtenstein I've gone by train or bus. But htis time I went by car to quickly access some of the more remote locations.
See you Liechtenstein 🇱🇮 😘
Hello ay am Javier ay from Honduras centro america biurifut eichitein
Wait, how do I get from Switzerland to Liechtenstein without a plane? Would I just travel by train or something?? Someone please advise. I wouldn't mind visiting this country.
Liechtenstein is easily accessed from Switzerland by train or car. From nearby Swiss Railway stations in Buchs or Sargans there is regular bus service to Vaduz and all of Liechtenstein. Your Swiss Pass or Swiss rail ticket is valid in Liechtenstein.
great video. Is there a paticular trailhead/hiking trail you recommend for someone who has the day to explore? maye a link I could look up? TIA!
I suggest basing yourself in the capital city of Vaduz then doing a walk up to the castle, and maybe on to the old castle ruins if you're a strong hiker. Visits to the Princely Vineyards, the city center with it's Postage Stamp Museum, and the old wooden covered bridge over the Rhine would be a good full day.
@@Alpenwild Thank you, what are the "old castle ruins" you are referring to? Is there a name to look it up? Also, would you do all of the above in this order? Thanks again!
@@micheleroya The castle ruins are called Wildschloss, and formally called Schalun Castle. It's on a nice mountain trail above Vaduz. Starting in Vaduz, the order shown in the video is a good way to see Liechtenstein: Vaduz city center, Vaduz Castle, Princely Winery, and the ski resort of Malbun. Be sure to sample the national dish of Kaseknopfle before you depart.
@@Alpenwild Thanks again! Do all the restaurants serve this dish? Is there a spot you recommend? We were thinking about eating at the winery but the national dish looks fab!
@@micheleroya We went to the Jägerstube Zum Kreuz in Schellenberg, but many of the traditional restaurants in Vaduz, Triesenberg or Malbun would serve Liechtenstein's national dish of "Käsknöpfle".
Germany, Austria, and Liechtenstein are one people.
My dream is to visit Liechtenstein. All of Liechtenstein has no border control?
That's right. Liechtenstein shares a border with Switzerland and Austria. At the Swiss border there is no control. At the Austrian border there is a small building, but I've never seen it staffed.
Where did you go to get your passport stamped?
Since there is no official border contrrol between Switzerland and Liechetnstein, go to the Liechtenstein Center in the heart of Vaduz where they will stamp your passport.
You forgot to mention the absurd prices tho. Liechtenstein is really expensive.
Liechtenstein is a quality destination and not really known for being a budget travel destination. Their currency is the Swiss Franc, and prices in Liechtenstein are about the same are Switzerland
Are the people in lichtenstein called "lichtensteinians" or "lichtens"?
Liechtensteiners
Please there are any opportunity for agriculture jobs for foreinger?
Do they have a McDonald's?
Yes. There is one McDonald's in Liechtenstein, in the mountain village of Triesen.
why do you need McDonalds?? When you go to other countries you should look the local food not a fcking McDonalds.
Hello hi🙏
is it safe for people of color to travel here ?
Good question. Liechtenstein has one of the world's lowest crime rates, with its last murder occurring in approximately 1997. They don't publish victim statistics by race.
Wohnt jemand hier in Liechtenstein?
Yes. Liechtenstein has a population of over 38,000 people.
Damn, need to get a girlfriend there 😂
‘Cheers!’ … ‘ok’ ha so Lichtenstein is the same as Germany etc
