Well I have just discovered that windows on the opposite side of the world from the Caribbean Sea are insanely different in construction. Thanks for that.

no problem! remember if you are replacing windows, make sure that your window installer uses an air tightness seal on the inside.an air tightness seal isnlike a roll of selotape.it goes directly on to the window and wall to create an air tightness seal.a company that sells insulation should have it or a good builders providers.but make sure it is installed.what is the point of getting double glazed windows if its not sealed properly.i would be glad to answer any other questions you have!

hi Stephen, try putting the clip in at a 45 degree angle into the housing on the side of the window so the first part catches it. then pull the other end up level. that should catch it.
if it doesn't work, you can use wooden packers at the top, middle and bottom of the window side. use a level to keep it plumb while doing this. after that use polyurethane foam to hold it in place.
you can use expess nails to fix as an alternative to the clips. express nails are at this link. make sure you use them if you are drilling into block, brick or concrete.
      express nails = www.ndpfencingcentre.co.uk/products/byhierarchy/4/61.htm
just make sure you use the big sizes- 110mm and above. just drill straight through the frae and hammer there fixings in. they get tighter as you hammer them in further.
let me know how you get on and hope thid helps

***** hi Stephen, just a tip. have a look at an air tightness seal around the inside of the window before re-plastering. the air tightness seal is essential for keeping out drafts. sometimes the expanding foam shrinks and there could be a hole. this air tightness seal is applied to prevent this. like a backup. anyway, ask your local builder providers or alternatively you can use duct tape instead. just stick it to the block and maybe an inch on the window frame all round the window.
just a tip- a good one!!

Use your fingers and spring the back out just alitte. Don't use a screwdriver like this guy. Use a putty knife.
