for anyone watching this, make sure not to use paper towels to clean your car gauges cuz you'll end up scratching it. Instead use a microfiber towel
I went through the same thing haha. Tried cleaning it while installed, thought it was inside the plastic. An hour later, I have the plastic off anddddd it's on the outside. Now I'm waiting for someones car to take to town and get that Turtle Wax since I dont think its smart to drive a vehicle without an instrument cluster 😂
By the way, for anyone with the same issue:
Its probably on the outside. Someone, at some point, used an abrasive cleaner

Where were the screw locations to be abel to remove the speedometer plastic cover? My landcruiser has dust underneath and think im going to have to take it off to clean properly... tia
It’s been a while since I did this project, but there should have only been 2-4 screws the remove the dash pieces around the speedometer, to then be able to remove the plastic piece off. For the plastic piece, the Camry didn’t have screws, only plastic tabs.

Well, if I would have seen a video like this, it would have only taken me about 30-40 minutes. I kept messing around with other options.
