      Hi Brent, If you are planning to showcase Pakistan to the rest of the world then please do an honest job. A Country is not just about economic development of its people but what really matters is the way its citizens perceive the world. Just bring any lovely western educated lady as your companion during Vlogging . Only then you can see and capture the true reactions of the male youth of Pakistan. Do try to interviews some elite Pakistani females and share their views about their country. Wishing you a pleasant stay and loads of subscribers. Regards

    Hey mate. I live in G13.
    The problem with this place which is claimed to be g12 is that it isn't approved with the department (CDA) that's looking after the sectors of Islamabad.. Basically the people who pay taxes and stuff, and pay for the land they make homes at, they're living a better life. Those who don't like these people... They have to live by their own self

    This place is not approved by cda. Hence no ongoing maintenance. They dont pay development taxes either.
    Thus the cost of shops is low here and you will see a lot of wood work, iron works shops here. Moreover sunday is a holiday, so most shops are closed not because of poverty but because of local holiday

    As compared to the G13 sector. people living in the G12 sector are mostly poor people living on rent houses(Mostly come from other cities for work). most of these houses are illegally built by high-profile people .and that's why the Capital Development Authority is not maintaining the roads, even new electricity meter installations are banned in this area. because people are not paying any taxes living in this area. soon Capital Development Authority is going to Capture this area and will build this sector the same as other sectors in Islamabad.

    This was a way better country when I was a kid, we were thriving and sky was the limit. Over time our values, brotherhood, hospitality, art, culture, peace, respect has drowned in the poverty. We are most of the poor in this country. We need good leadership and people to rejuvinate all our institutions so we can at least stand on our feet, and then slowly walk through diminishing this huge divide between rich and poor. GOD bless Pakistan!

    yeah the discrepancy in wealth is quite evident in PAKISTAN especially where i live because just behind my house start the slums and the difference between the two areas is shocking however this shocking contrast in part is due to the laziness of authorities and people building houses on lands which were never meant to be used for residential construction. Its a concept and norm in Pakistan that Upper Class and Lower Class live in close proximity.
    Upper Class hire servants, gardeners, drivers, house helpers, cooks etc for their residence or commercial complex. Living nearby makes it easy for Lower Class people to navigate at their workplace without having to burden for transportation expense. That way they can save their salary and spend more time at work which gives them chance to earn overtime and extra income. So in a way it becomes benifecial for both.
    Whereas this trend is same in Arab Countries too but there they have servant quarters and separate residence built in their huge housing complex which makes them on job almost for 24 hours a day.

    Fortunately, there is a silver lining, the muslim give allot of charity money zakat so there are allot of hot food places available for free at set times, generally muslims gather money from friends and family to distribute wealth to the poor.
    Whether rich or poor, they pray together in the mosque and their is a sense of community that brings all people in all sorts the situations together. These moments of compassion and community through good and bad times, help give relief to moments of difficulty. We have Allah swt, we have everything. That keeps us smiling.

I am not saying that poor should be helped and there should be homes for them also. But currently this the situation there thats why u see that area like that. Also, Islamabad is one of the most expensive cities to make a house in. Might be at top if u consider rate per square feet.

  • @Shakeel_._Ahmed
    @Shakeel_._Ahmed Год назад

    Inequality in Pakistan, like many developing countries is quite stark. Islamabad is no exception. Often these areas like G12, are areas where people with money have illegally built buildings without permits or even owning the land, bribed officials to turn a blind eye and then rented them out or sold them onto others at cheaper than market rates. Sometimes they've got fake documentation, sometimes they don't - the land registry process is inefficient and corrupt, so buyers are often taking a risk.
    The idea that everyone has is that it will eventually be regularised because so many people have lived there for so long and so much has been built. Govt on the other hand doesn't want to rush to regularise to discourage this sort of encroachment activity, and at the same time it becomes a political football, because many of the people living in the area aren't in the electoral roll for that area, so politicians aren't interested in their votes or condition.

    G12 is not a SLUM sector, Development Authority already paid for this sector, but could not get possession of this sector G12 and government dont apply force to get it vacated and re design it accordingly. All living in G12 are illegal residents, they dont own it, hence poor people who can't afford expensive legal homes, they settled here. This sector might be taken amy time soon by the Capital Development Authority.

    G-13 is completely developed but G-12 is still under developed or can say development not yet started, so labours or general workers are temporary living there which are working in construction industry mostly they came from different small rural areas of Pakistan that's why it seems like a slum.
    Visit again after around 7-8 years then you will find this area more beautiful than G-13, I bet 😊🤘🏻.
