Spent three years in Islamabad working for a private TV channel. It is indeed the most beautiful capital in the world but there are limited opportunities in Islamabad. Also, life there feels a bit slow as I was quite used to the hustle and bustle of Karachi. But I have great memories and I love Islamabad. May be I'll spend my retirement years in the capital :)

As someone who lives in the US and has traveled to over 70 countries, I can guarantee that Islamabad is nowhere close to even the top 50 most beautiful capitals. Of course, I haven't gone to Pakistan in 13 years so maybe things have evolved.

Punjabi ISI has bombed regions of KPK and Baluchistan to settle Punjabi bureaucrats in Gwadr and terrorist's from Iraq, yemen, somalia, Malaysia, Bangladesh India and Punjab in KPK. civilians from KPK and Balochistan don't have any other choice except to move to karachi. These IDP's are not allowed in Punjab.
As a karachiite who has cherished memories of growing in 80s and 90s and lived in europe and also worked in Isloo following are key pointers
1) Karachi has always been treated as orphan child, even in musharraf era Mustafa kamal worked on road building and bridges majority of them cannot stand with one quality bridge build in MT khan road at Tower port area since Benazir bhutto first govenment.
2) Karachi is equally abused by Army, PPP, MQM and others. Majority of funds are eaten by mafia. Remember 60% of good street quality is infront of government key institutions or armed forces. Sirf danda ka zor pa kaam chalta hay.
3) In Denmark where i lived, even a drill hole on street or road had consequences if not approved via authority. the system works in default so for karachiite it would be like eden garden to think of living in Denmark.
4) Islamabad natural serenity and beauty can be compared to one of best cities of the world. Thankfully Islamabad is not governed by sindh government else they would made misery out of it as well. I used to visit office in islamabad 17 Km from home and it take maximum of 20 minutes to reach while in karachi i spend like 1.25 hours to complete that exhaustive journey.
To solve misery of sindh, first fix structure of Karachi. Karachi must be given directly under federal administation. Throw out Sindh/interiror sindh mafia from here and People of Karachi whose heart, blood and soul are invested in it must lead NOT bhae log jou haram zaday apno ko choona lgatay hain. We can easily transform city in two years but who will control thugs of pindi then. They are the biggest mafia of country. Hope sanity will prevail one day InshaAllah
karachi should made a seprate province and a strong local government with all autonomy and the royalty for karachi people
This is something really love about my former city Islamabad. I, as a woman, could walk from f10 markaz all the way to f11 markaz (about 2 miles) alone, while listening to songs on my iphone, and I mostly felt pretty safe. I was born in Karachi, that's where most of my paternal family is, but I could never say the same about that city man.
It is same for men. Don't include your petty gender politics in the discussion about Karachi.

Islamabad is indeed much secured and a phenomenal place to live there. One must intend to spend some time. I used to live for almost 16 years in Islamabad sector I-10/1 and now I'm in Rawalpindi. Really I don't wanna leave these two places. Plenty of love for them.

working in Islamabad for 2 years living here since 2015 , my family specially my Father made the choice of moving to this city of hope religion diversity / Isb is pleasant for the most part. just need our Govt to stay in the right direction for all of us and give the cities what they need to survive these days. i am proud islamabadian but yes i worked in Lahore and i can tell you if you want best of both world move to Lahore, recently since i moved back there is lot of pollution in lahore but still its a good metropolitan city, islamabad is expensive as hell but in lahore you get same or better things for half the price and with all the infrastructure and peace too.

All facts spoken.. I had to buy 10 laptops and LED monitors for office and I couldn’t find a shop in pindi/isb who had 10 laptops of same brand available. My friend from karachi was was with me and was shocked to see this.

Comparison should have been made with lahore or peshawar where metro trains buses, good roads, tree plantations etc have been done on a large scale unlike karachi.also btw karachi lahore islamabad all three are metropolitan cities.
