I don't know too much about MQM. But I studied in Karachi for 04 years and then after 10 - 12 years I visited Karachi. I realized that 12 years ago Karachi was far better, much more maintained under MQM. Now Karachi looks like Moin Jo daro

Bro I am from Karachi, born and raised and loved my Karachi. However, I DO NOT agree with this “ghair-muqami” term/theory that has recently been coined. Karachi is a metropolis and all the mega cities have been developed by migrants (Muhajirs) from other areas of the country as well as international. London, Toronto, Vancouver, Manhattan, Mumbai, Seattle and many more. Karachi has always been a place where immigrants came from different parts of the country before and after partition. Memon and Gujrati community for example is not local. Neither the urdu speaking “muhajir” community. same story with Punjabi or Pashtuns and others. They have all migrated at different times to the city and helped shape the culture and development of the city. Even the less educated labour class is required. I am sure if those are not there, you are not gonna dig the streets to put the pipelines, would you?
When in power, MQM didn’t stop anyone from coming into the city but by causing fear for life if lived in the city.
Yes crime should be stopped who is ever is behind it.
