Living in Melbourne myself, and would definitely not recommend anyone buying an old german car especially to use it for deliveries. As mechanics over here would rip you off good and proper on old cars like that if thing's go wrong. Would suggest to start with something reliable like a corolla or camry, and with time eventually upgrading once they have settled in and completed their studies. Don't look or follow others as everyone is on a different path in their current journey. :)
Buy a car that is easily available in the local market. Japanese cars are abundant in Australia, hence that should be anyone's first choice. Similarly, German cars are abundant in the UK, one can buy them here.
the problem with living abroad is you try to compete with people already settled there. its a bias called "social proof" leading to incorrect decisions
Thank you Junaid bhai. Just adding on here. It looks like my bro wants a new car on plan because here in Australia it is very common to lease a luxury car from bank at a certain down payment and it looks he is referring to have that amount saved and will be paying weekly installments which he might be able to afford with his jobs. Even then your response stays valid where you said udhaar pe to leni e ni. On top of that please focus on your permanent resident pathway first and spend more time in the university instead and as junaid bhai said invest in yourself so just acquire good skills so you could be eligible for a skilled migration pathway. Once you increase your expenses you will be distracted from the primary reason you are here in Australia for i.e. studying. And I really appreciate you going out and asking for advice which shows you want to be guided so goodluck brother.
Yar ispe 1 bari zabardast saying hai id remember from where, but it goes like, "If you can't afford it twice, you can't afford it". Specially a german out of all cars. I've been through mindset like that I was dumb back then to understand what my elders were trying to say when they used to warn me on not saving. If some1s dad has a salary of 1Lpm, he abstains from buying shit for himself to pay all the bills, if he were to get an increment of 50 thousand, he still would save it for future k kya pata kal koi medical emergency na hojaye, ghar par kam na anikal ajaye ya koi shadi ya event na ajaye jiski shopping karni parrey. Our dads are uncredited heroes, our gen need to learn from them,
No .that was purana india ,yeh naya india hai. Here people have two cars , an old car for the housewife and the new car for the Man of the house. But no health insurance . We r f***d now.
I make around $10000/month, i own a BMW M5 and in maintenance & petrol i spend $1500 very easily. So it’s true if you’re a student stay away from german cars.
Can you tell me about the field in which you work in and your experience in it please. And some of your background like in which university you went to,etc because i am a 16 years old figuring what to do in life and it would help me alot.
Car is a liability. You should make assets instead. If after buying a luxurious car you are not making money from it then it is a liability and you will always remain a poor guy.
Very good advice. Pakistanis and there hobbies...cars, phonss , ghar i mean wtf..a clear difference between the mindsets of westerns and our society. Thats why hum taraqi nahi kar rahy hay...
