Interesting fact about Japanese street racing culture: Back in the 80s, there was a club in Japan that pioneered the street racing movement in a country. They had really nice cars, and the police had pretty old cars back then, so cops didn't even try to chase them, that's true. Most of the members of this club were criminals or near-criminal people, since good cars are obviously expensive. Now here's a really cool thing about Japanese mentality - like everything in Japan, this club had its own rules, more like a samurai code. There were rules - do not involve ordinary people in racing, do not harm other racers, and so on, and one of the first rules was - never, in any situation, harm people on the streets. And as if that wasn't enough, in these rules was said that if any harm came to any ordinary people, the club would be closed. Now try immagine such club in any other country in the world, where most members are criminals, would they follow the rules? Well in Japan they actually do follow the rules. One day, somewhere in the mid-90s, one of the famous members of this club had an accident car crash during racing and accidentally hit a person on a street to death. The mustang his dad gives home is a parallel for Sean. The mustang (American body) with a RB26 engine (Japanese heart). Those fisherman at the docks basically invented drifting too
Drifting was invented from rally , drivers would spin the back of the car out to get around corners quicker , Japanese car guys used to go out and race in countryside and use the same maneuvers and ended up taking the concept and making it a sport
@@BackroadTv2016 idk why people invent such statements. Like it's saying "Jordan invented dunks" like we get that he is the OG and one of the Goats but he did not invent dunking. Same here the OG Drift King hasn't invented the art/sport

Now it's time to watch Pitch Black. It's the only reason Vin Diesel was in this movie. He agreed to the cameo so he could get the rights to a film series of his first starring role as Riddick.

*The rear tires are constantly spinning while drifting. If they're not moving, that's a power slide and you don't have anywhere near the same amount of control as a drift.*

I have one HUGE problem with this movie. Children of US service members living in foreign countries, DO NOT go to the host nation's schools. Each military base has schools run by the Department of Defense and are exactly like schools in the US. How do I know? I am a military brat and served 8 years myself. I lived in Japan for 3 years, Germany for 6 years. I attended these schools in both countries.
I love this movie. I lived in Tokyo and Yokohama for 6 years and went to so many drift events. Some not so legal lol. The car shows in the parking garage is really thing out there.
Fun fact, as far as storyline goes, This movie takes place between Fast and Furious 6, and Furious 7. So This movie will make ALOT more sense once you finish Fast and Furious 6.
I love this movie even when a lot of others trash it. There's 2 things to take away from this movie. 1. Han is the third most loved character in the franchise. 2. Twinky's theme song should be "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce.
@theperfectmixx People don't really drift old muscle cars, but mid 00s Corvettes and new Mustangs are super popular in drifting. Tons of drivers in Pro Drift competitions drive them. BMW M3s and Nissan Zs/S15s are probably the other most common cars in the pro drift scene.
One of the fisherman laughing at Sean's early attempts at drifting is the real-life drift king, Keiichi Tsuchiya. Tsuchiya helped popularise the art and Touge driving
18:05... The gent in the blue is Keiichi Tsuchiya. He is the REAL DK (drift king). He's responsible for helping to put drifting on the map. The stunts they did like drifting up the spiral at the parking garage were all actually done irl. They’re one by actual race car drivers that are insane at driving
I'm not a huge fan of Tokyo Drift, but it does introduce my fave character, Han, as well as the actual drifting. Looking forward to a few of the future films in the series, (5 is my personal fave).
Greatest drift driver to ever live, Ken Block, may he rest in peace💪🏽✝️, he drifted a heavily modified 1965 all wheel drive Mustang called the “Hoonicorn”. Later adding the 2 Garrett twin turbos shortly after the cars inception. #LongLiveKenBlock #Hoonigan
Fun fact the guy on the dock in the blue is a famous drifter who basically created drifting in japan the original drift king. Also drifting is the opposite you need a rear wheel drive one that the rear wheels are the ones that drive the car. So the rear wheels are the ones that are free spin which caues the rear end of the car to skid around then the front tires are the oens you steer with. You cant really drift with a front wheel drive car the rear end wont kick out or slide around like a rwd car , plus it won't keep up momentum because the braking you have to do to try to slide.

@@alus992 ya like things usually derive from something else a big misconception is they invented it not entirely true they just perfected it
@@BackroadTv2016 I meant more like as the culture/sport not the actual manoeuvre. I forgot who it was but remember there was a rally driver showing a Japanese drifter in an 180sx how to perfect a Scandinavian flick. Was kind of interesting to see how similar and yet different drifting could be.
No, they didn't.
A lot of people find this movie the worst of the franchise but it’s my favorite.
Trust me, this ain’t worse than Fast X
When it was about cars
this one and the first one r my favorites
I thought this was universally the favourite one until recently, I love Tokyo Drift
Never heard anyone bash Tokyo Drift lol
Now it's time to watch Pitch Black. It's the only reason Vin Diesel was in this movie. He agreed to the cameo so he could get the rights to a film series of his first starring role as Riddick.
Yeah Universal agreed to relinquish the rights to the character to Vin so that he could go on to make RIDDICK (2013)
This is my personal favorite of the franchise, and one of my favorite movies of all time! The entire first ten minutes, from the opening credits song through the initial race scene, is probably the most iconic opener I've ever seen
The Fast and the Furious is the kind of film that you watch over and over again without getting sick of it, at this point we want the whole saga on the channel yesterday, I can't wait.Salve do brasil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️
18:58 After all these years no one is able to tell why the fk the blonde japanese dude spits in his hand lol
Every reactor is left like "wtf?"
TBH, I've never understood that one either.
It's an insult in Japan, basically giving the middle finger.
When you wanna spit out of disgust and disrespect, but you gotta keep it clean in Japan? LOL I dunno.
fun fact the car shaun uses at the end represents the movie, An american movie with a japanese heart, mustang with nissan motor
Don't forget fast 5 and 6 have ending credits 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Each fast and furious installment introduces one or more new characters.
Two was Roman three was Han
The drift that DK did up the spiral, at the end of the first race, they actually drove that, and nailed it on the first take. In the commentary, the director was talking about the driver coming to him, confident that they could pull it off, and after they did, realizing that they could ramp up the driving.
18:18 the fisherman with the blue jacket is an actual professional drifter. He did most of the drifting you see from the outside in this movie
BTW the guy sitting on the dock that smiled is a famous drifter
*The rear tires are constantly spinning while drifting. If they're not moving, that's a power slide and you don't have anywhere near the same amount of control as a drift.*
Anyone who can do a power slide has total control, otherwise they wouldn't be crazy enough to go into a powerslide.
THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT IS NON OTHER THAN SIR SONNY CHIBA RIP 🕯️ A LEGEND IN JAPANESE CINEMA
one of my all time favourite movie tbh!! good job hehe
22:00 Sorry to be that guy, but these cars drift through rear wheel drive. The rear wheels cause the drift. The front wheels are just used to control the angle and where you are drifting.
@1:26 That’s Zachary Ty Bryan, who became famous on Home Improvement as one of Tim Allen’s children.
im so excited to see you guys react to the whole movie series
I love this movie. I lived in Tokyo and Yokohama for 6 years and went to so many drift events. Some not so legal lol. The car shows in the parking garage is really thing out there.
Those aren't car shows. Those are car meets.
The driving in this movie is the best because its all crazy but it’s possible to do in real life and most of the stunts are professional Driver tricks
Roll bounce, like mike, lottery ticket, Johnson family vacation, all about the Benjamin’s an more bow wow has played in. Dang y’all are young.
those fisherman in the training bit where the OG creators of drifting
the faces you guys make when Sean smile at blondie HILARIOUS
Fun fact, as far as storyline goes, This movie takes place between Fast and Furious 6, and Furious 7. So This movie will make ALOT more sense once you finish Fast and Furious 6.
the guy with the blue jacket fishing was a actual drift racer in real life
You know they're entertained when it's like 20 minutes in and then they realize there's no Paul Walker
I love this movie even when a lot of others trash it. There's 2 things to take away from this movie.
1. Han is the third most loved character in the franchise.
2. Twinky's theme song should be "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce.
Guys! You HAVE to watch Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) :)
Amen to that one!👍
Facts!! One of my favorite Nicholas Cage movies!!
I absolutely love this movie, it's was about cars, driving and family ❤❤
@theperfectmixx People don't really drift old muscle cars, but mid 00s Corvettes and new Mustangs are super popular in drifting. Tons of drivers in Pro Drift competitions drive them. BMW M3s and Nissan Zs/S15s are probably the other most common cars in the pro drift scene.
Toyota Supras and GR86s are pretty common too. The blue car that he wrecked in the first drift in the movie was a Nissan S15
This is my favorite movie from the franchise‼
How did you not know the Bow Wow acted?! I guess you haven't seen Like Mike or Johnson Family Vacation lol
The lean into the camera - "SHE IS FOR THE STREEETS👀" 😂
One of the fisherman laughing at Sean's early attempts at drifting is the real-life drift king, Keiichi Tsuchiya. Tsuchiya helped popularise the art and Touge driving
The guy fishing in the blue sweat suite is the inventor of drifting in real life, he's the original Drift King. And he did the stunts in the movie
Luv this movie and that song by Teriyaki Boyz still goes hard lol.
My favorite in the entire series 💥💥
This film shows to show how powerful Muscle cars are compared to sports. Muscle cars have a lot of raw power before mods.
18:05... The gent in the blue is Keiichi Tsuchiya. He is the REAL DK (drift king). He's responsible for helping to put drifting on the map.
I loved the 350Z in this movie so much that I now own 2 Veilside widebody 350Z's. I think that Tokyo Drift was the last FF that was about cars. Dope reaction. Much love and respect to you two.
Muscle cars is actually very favorable in drifting. Insane horsepower + rear wheel drive = sideway time!
100% my favorite movie in the franchise.
7:03 fun fact: bow wow's first movie was Like Mike. one of my favorite childhood classics, i was 8 when it released. you guys should give it a try, a bunch of NBA legends were in it to from Allen iverson to Dirk Nowitzki
One of my favorite movies of all time. You can also watch a real life drift race right now on Saturday the 13th on Formula Drift, and it is just as more incredible than the ones in this. Han is definitely one of the top tier FF characters. I'm so glad you guys did this one!
19:58 "you make choices and you don't look back"👑
Best movie of the franchise even without Paul Walker and Vin Diesel. Great reaction!
The guy in the blue fishing is a real drift guy in real life
The stunts they did like drifting up the spiral at the parking garage were all actually done irl. They’re one by actual race car drivers that are insane at driving
2:43 That’s not just a truck, thats the Ram SRT10. It has the same engine in that viper
I'm not a huge fan of Tokyo Drift, but it does introduce my fave character, Han, as well as the actual drifting. Looking forward to a few of the future films in the series, (5 is my personal fave).
I love this movie a lot about cars and family and all about racing and drifting
Toretto in the end IS sick af as always the nostalgia to revisit This movies
The Fast And The Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, & The Fast And The Furious:Tokyo Drift are the 3 best films out of the entire saga in my opinion!
I had one of those alarm clocks. Its portable. It winds up, so it needs no battery, and it folds up to fit in your pocket.
Han is my all time favourite character, like that’s my mannnnnn
Girl, your hair looks amazing in the intro!
Greatest drift driver to ever live, Ken Block, may he rest in peace💪🏽✝️, he drifted a heavily modified 1965 all wheel drive Mustang called the “Hoonicorn”. Later adding the 2 Garrett twin turbos shortly after the cars inception.
#LongLiveKenBlock
#Hoonigan
Waiting for everyone to tell the funfact about the fisherman 😆
Fast 5 IS The Sickest One. It's my favorite
It's getting close
He said "but how....you just got here""😂😂😂
“She is for the streets “… Vince😂
She is loving these movies lol its so suprising. She was getting so excited over the drifting.
This is definitely my favorite Fast and Furious move. Hands down
Really
no other Fast and Furious came close to this, little to no CG the soundtrack, and the story was based solely on racing top 3 for sure
Racing and the cars..can’t forget the cars..the Mona Lisa was beautiful then got wrecked for the engine to be swapped in a ‘65 Mustang 🥲
This movie is my favorite from all the series
This is definitely my favourite from the series
10/10 on the reaction😎The movie is a good build-up to the rest of the franchise 👍
The next movie till the last movie are straight bonkers !
