I'm very indecisive between keeping the supra or trading it for the new M2. Love the supra just a little more space would be really nice since I daily the car.
Nimasis, although the BMW M2 may be an enticing proposition due to it having more practicality and other attributes, my thought is, it is a practical sports coupe but it is not a practical Supra. The Supra is completely different in it's genre to the M2. The Supra due to it being much lower, shorter in length and wheelbase, weighing a massive 440 lbs less, styling, two seater only, and other factors, provide a different driving sensational. Even just entering (trying not to hit your head) and sitting in the Supra is different to the M2. Considering that you love your Supra, my thought is, if you were to buy a M2 be aware that the experience will be very different to your Supra (will you miss it?). Cheers.
I’m in exactly the same boat. Love my ‘21 3.0 Supra to death and was planning on getting the MT until the M2 came along. I daily my Supra and have not had any issues with practicality. I think it’s a great daily as long as you don’t need a rear seat. I also personally think it looks sexier than the M2, although I haven’t seen the M2 in person. What I like about the M2 is the tech and the extra power, but is that enough to overcome the weaker shifter and looks? All things being equal - would you take a brand new Supra MT with an Akrapovic exhaust or a new stock M2 carbon fiber?
I’m a 6MT mustang gt PP1 owner! I’ve been considering these two cars for my next vehicle. In your opinion how do the manual in these compare to a mustangs? 😊
Supra is definitely the best of the 3. M2 is similar to the mustang. A bit more rubbery. But the standard Mustang manual I've heard less then positive reviews about its longevity. So I'd think the M2 is more robust.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed No turbo 6 will compare to the Mustang instant torque! If you have time to wait for the turbos to cool up you certainly get equivalent power, but that first second can seem like an eternity in a bmw Turbo 6.
I sat in both, the supra just felt very Toyota, the m2 was on a different level. I ordered mine, got it 2 weeks ago all black, such a beast of a machine. Everytime i drive it its makes me smile. It was a toss up between the two BUT! I did want the extra seats
I think your review is right on. For a fun, weekend, more sporty and more engaging sports car, I think the Supra wins. For a daily, I think the M2 wins. However, compared to both of these cars, I actually think the better daily is the BMW M240i automatic with BMWs Xdrive AWD. The Xdrive M240i with the automatic is as fast as both of these cars with manuals. And automatics while being faster, are also better in daily traffic. And, compared to RWD, the Xdrive AWD is better at launch and also better in inclement weather. Actually, with "manuals", the BMW M2 is rated 0 to 60 at 4.1 seconds and the Supra is rated at 0 to 60 in 4.1 - 4.2 seconds. The less expensive 2023 BMW M240i xdrive automatic is also rated at 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds. The 3.9 second 0 to 60 time in both the Supra and the M2 is with the "automatic". In most cases, the BMW M240i automatic with Xdrive should actually best both of these manual cars from 0 to 60 because you can floor the M240i Xdrive from a dead stop with zero tire spin and no lost traction. Bob
The M2 would look great in black or graphite or even dark silver ...and easier to live with. If multiple cars that would be much tougher cause I love the Supra's low slung swooping looks but I would miss the pronounced surge to redline typical of BMWs inline 6.
put the s58 in the Supra, keep the current supra interior(none of the no button all screen BS in the G87) then youll have greatest modern BMW ever made, really hope they do.
I agree! Would be sweet to see that engine in this! I do like the simplicity of the Supra. Would be cool to get the M2 optional bucket seats in the Supra too
Thank you! Really appreciate addressing the transmission. I had a 2018 M3 and sold it because shifting the car was joyless. I kept my 2017 accord instead because it was a much more enjoyable manual.
I thought of that, but the GTR is an M4 competitor. M2 is way softer. M2 and Supra are on the Same level. GTR is a big step up. Here's my GTR vs M4 video! ruclips.net/video/BqUPMBQ_Gy4/видео.html
I’m trading in my a91 supra for an m2 I have in order arriving in June, due to the practicality. My supra is fbo and a blast to drive, can’t wait to see what the m2 will be capable of with the mods
I will take the supra for a few reasons, but one I will point out is the lack of that ridiculous iDrive8 “android laid on its side & glued to dash” screen. I haven’t been inside M2 yet, but I’ve experienced it in a couple of other new BMW models, and it just looks ridiculous . I want a driver-focused binnacle . For a driver-focused car.
Supra is definitely a very driver focused sportscar with no clutter. M2 has that extra fancy tech stuff. I actually like the dash for the M2. Not every car with this design looks as good to me tho
the s58 is a derivative of the b58 block with forged crankshafts and connecting rods for higher power demand both are reliable engines well more reliable engines for recent bmw motors 😎
Yeah it's a sweet motor! Just saw an M2 make over 700 WHP with downpipes and tuning on E50. Would love to see this in the Supra! Stock for stock tho its a nice bump in power, but the weight pulls the M2 back a tad to be crazy faster then the Supra
Just bought the M2. Will agree the gearbox is a little rubbery but still a lot of fun to shift. The power in the car is insane and the car def looks a lot better in person than in pics/vids.
Hey Brian, I agree with pretty much everything you said, I consider myself the foremost, supra, expert, who’s never actually driven oneI sat in one, but never actually driven one Mark five of course I’ve owned and driven other supers. well, I hope you guys get soon is the new lotus emira and that’s got a Toyota engine I would take that over pretty much any Porsche and I know that saying something have a great one
I'm getting the M2, once rates come down. I'll be damned if I worked my ass off to get excellent credit only have a much worse rate than what I have now
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes that would be the way man. Last year, looking at the Supra that was my inspiration for getting great credit cause I wasn't about to pay over 1k a month for the car. Now it's the same deal. I see 9% to 11% rates on cars with excellent credit.
Supra is a much better looking car and lighter, but the S58 is just a better engine than the B58, the rods and Pistons can handle more power. I would still take the Supra though....
Thanks for a great comparison. I prefer the more subtle look of the BMW. The Supra is a "look at me" type of look. It stands out big time. If that is what you want, this car would be my choice. But I like to be a little more subtle (have a '18 m240, so the BMW looks better for me). Admittedly, this one is not quite as subtle as the last generation though, but I still love it.
Yeah I was thinking of the older version. This is the first time being around the new M2 so I only looked up info for the manual. Didn't even think they'd ditch the DCT
@@BrosFOURRSpeed It made sense for the profit margin for them to ditch the DCT, but the DCT was better than the ZF. Either way, the Supra is better looking. Though I wish they would put the S Motor in a Supra:-).
@@ashleymadison9380 The main reason is that the DCT would not work for the AWD xDrive system that they want to support, and it was cheaper to use the ZF 8 speed auto than have ZF design a new DCT that would work.
I Own A 2022 supra, and already tested the M2. Its tough decision. If I was buying brand new both cars (automatics) I will probably get the M2. Both cars in Manual, I get the Supra. Way more Fun. I am waiting to trade mine 2022 Auto for a 2023 Manual Supra. It was sold before I could get it, so now I am in a waiting list. If you already own a Supra there is no justification for the M2. It is simply not worth 5k depreciation + 5k increased cost + 5k taxes. a total of 15k for what little you will get, as you just are trading pros and cons but really is a lateral move.
Keep in mind, manual Supra owners could sell these at a profit. I paid $58k for mine. Could probably sell it for $65k easy and my BMW dealer has a manual M2 I could have bought for $67k. So it's really an easy swap. What state do you live that tax is $5k? My Supra was under $2k in taxes. However I think Supra owners would only swap into the M2 if they need the practicality or want something more refined and roomy. I'd love both together to be honest. But as you said its a lateral move. I agree with that. Very similar cars just depends on the practicality needed by the owner
With Toyota changing parts of B58 making it more reliable in long run then the S58 bimmer. I would go all day to Supra ,the looks are far better and feels like a real sports car factor was way better than bmw. The m2 won’t break necks even their M powers but mk5 was in a different field.
Supra is pretty sleek However Toyota still has helped BMW with their reliability across the board. So I'd trust the S58 motor all day. M2 is a great next car for Supra owners who now need back seats
These two cars were optioned very similarly. However a loaded M2 only gets to about $15k more than a loaded Supra. A base manual 3.0 yeah. I would ad the bucket seats as a stand alone option for the M2 and it'd be about $68k. So $10k more then my Supra. Not too bad.
Like it or not the new Supra follows the og mk4 Supra recipe to the T front engine rear wheel drive inline 6 turbo charge engine with 6 speed manual gearbox not only it follows the classic sports car recipe it’s also lighter stiffer much faster(stock) and the b58 is just as mod friendly with high tuning potential as the legendary 2jz and the a90/91 series Supra is heavily involve with touring/endurance racing with championship winning results and full factory support let’s be honest if we just turn a blind eye to the bmw involvement we would see this car for what it truly is a proper throwback and homage to the classic mk4 with modern technology mark my word this car will have its place in history.
unpopular point here...tesla m3p is faster than both of these point to point in normal everyday driving situations and is far more comfortable and even handles better and is in the same price point. i know because i have an m3p as well as a stage 2 m2 and f80 m3....
The Tesla is the heaviest of the three, I wouldn’t say it’s the best handling by any means. Certainly fast, but that’s about it. Glad you enjoy it though.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed your right it’s not the best handling of the three if your going 10/10ths on a track. but in most everyday situations it’s able to use its power more efficiently
Great daily for sure. Definitely a good option for around town. But a lot of people love the feeling of a sportscar for the weekend and for the day to day. Most people own a Supra or M2 as their only car. So they want the fun factor all the time
in my opinion the supra is way ahead just for its looks alone. i had a deposit on an m2 but after getting a yellow supra this ones a keeper. i haven’t filled up the tank once without someone coming over and asking me what it is. this car will be a legend in the future just watch. nothing like it on the road. the m2 is just bland in comparison however i’m sure the performance is a tad better. then again it weighs more so most probably negligible.
Oh cool! Yeah Supra turns heads and really is a special car. I do love the M2 but it's not as dramatic as the Supra. But it's more livable. So I can see one when I need the back seats. Mods will really wake it up tho!
I am glad they are so different. I rather the M2 and the Supra are great at different things rather than them be the same. Supra is the awesome sports car that you track. M2 is the Bimmer that will pull if you want it too.
Isn't the current fad wide body? The Challenger and Charger have stuck on flares and people love those. This is all bodywork that gives it a wide body look. If anything the Dodge cars look like the ad ons lol. People just love to hate new cars for some reason
Wow, when did you get a Supra, nice! Definitely suits you more than a M2. It's a shame about that screen in the M2, it looks so generic, not a sporty car
I would assume lowering springs and a wider stance would help a ton! Still handled very well. But the lighter Supra will always be a bit better. But I’m sure a few upgrades would go a long way
CS Here Again So For Me I Am Still A Huge German Car Fan Of The 2023 Toyota GR Supra With The Auto Maybe Also I Don’t Think There’s A BMW Z4 Competition For A Long Time Also We Will Wait For The 2023 BMW M2 Competition Arrives Later Still Brian.
Mechanically, I think the Supra has a better setup as a whole. However the practicality and comfort of the M2 is so far ahead of the Supra, it is hard to pick between the 2, while having similar power to weight ratios.
Yeah really just depends what you need in the car. I think the M2 is the next best car for a lot of Supra owners when the time comes to have practicality
The new BMW M2 doesn't have a DCT. It has the same ZF 8 speed 8HP automatic transmission (torque converter) that the auto Supra has. They don't have the DCT in any BMWs now. The last gen M2 was the very last car to get it. The 8HP is supposed to shift almost as fast as the DCT though.
So struggling between an orange Supra (if I could even get one) and an M2. Strongly leaning M2 due to more practicality but I hate the new iDrive. Ugh.
Both are great cars for sure! You end up getting used to the infotainment in the BMW. I wasn't the biggest fan of it either. Even in this video I still didn't know how to work the whole screen. But after a bit you get used to it and it becomes normal. So if you need the practicality, go for the M2! Amazing car!
I was in the same position as you, but the dealerships that I talked to wanted 5-10k markup on the Supra. That put the price of the special addition at 70-75k and the regular Supra at 66-71k. I was able to order a 2024 M2 at msrp 71k. It's in production now.
Supra just had an intake. Doesnt ad any power, just the sound lol. But the Supra handles a lot better and the transmission is way more engaging. Both have a ton to offer
Yeah a 240 vs the Supra would be pretty cool. I'm sure thats way softer then the Supra tho since the Supra is already more hard core feeling then the M2. So 240 would be a soft version with better practicality
I seen a fews supra mk5 and they look really nice and the other day I saw a yellow one with an tail and drop I was looking good.Since I'm a family man Im looking at an WRX 2023 wish they don't use RTV .
Oh of course! But when you drive them back to back, you only feel a bit more power stock for stock since the M2 weighs so much. M2 with bolt ons and tune can make like 700 WHP easy! Supra makes about 550 WHP bolt ons and tuning. So that extra turbo ads a lot! Maybe one day they'll do an S58 Supra
The Supra is the only good BMW left. The new M2 is WAY too big and absurdly heavy. That thing weighs over 3800lbs which is only 200lbs less than my midsized Audi A6 3.0T. Just ridiculous for what is supposed to be BMWs lightest and most fun sports car. Let me remind you the E36 M3 sedan weighed 3100lbs or 700lbs less! The 2 series should be around that size and under 3500lbs. BMW is just catering to Chinese market and fanboys who only care about numbers. They don't care about the pleasure of driving anymore. Cadillac and Alfa are the new "ultimate driving machines"
The new M2 weights 3700. Of course an older vehicle with less tech and less components would weight less, but it also made less power too. Have you been in a driven the new M2?? It’s a pleasure to drive. My brother took it on a 1,000 mile road trip and had zero complaints! It’s perfect between performance and daily driving! We have a mountain trip video coming soon you should check out. Cadillacs are nice no doubt, and alfas are cool. Just depends on what you want.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed That’s no excuse. You can make it lighter. Mazd amanaged to make the ND Miata lighter than any Miata made from 1999-2015 with standard safety tech, more airbags, touch screens, chassis rigidity etc. They just care about driving more. BMW just cares about pleasing the Chinese market and people who care about numbers over driver feedback and emotion like the Cadillac and Alfa. Not saying the M2 is garbage by any means, it’s just not what the “ultimate driving machine” used to be. I’m glad we have the Supra because that’s really the only really good BMW left lolll.
I'm sure from a technicality aspect. But all you can feel is the power difference. So thats all I can review. I'm not tearing the cars apart to show the specifics of each engine
Hot Take: I think the G87 M2 is the real successor to the Mk4 Supra. Think about it: - 2 door coupe with questionably useable rear seats - Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout with 6MT available - twin-turbo I6 with massive tuning potential - heavy for their respective time periods (Mk4 Supra weighed 1615kg, modest by today's standards, but a porker in the 90s) - both even have a similar rear wing shape if you opt for that performance part for the M2 The most controversial part of this take is that I believe the M2, like the Mk4 Supra, will be one of those cars people only appreciate in 20+ years time. Sounds ridiculous to say now, but we don't know what the future holds for cars (or society) by that time. Perhaps they will be fully automated, with no physical controls for even things like steering, accelerating and braking aside from possible kinect-style gestures. Car design might get even worse or blander. A whole generation may see a G87 M2 as a pleasant nostalgic throwback, with its physical steering wheel, gear lever, pedals, the few buttons it has, and of course its internal combustion engine.
@@zcmdzpp127 There have been rumors of a GRMN Supra with the S58, but so far, nothing official has been announced. It would give the aging R35 GTR a run for its money, assuming dealers don't slap on markups that make a Porsche 911 GT3's MSRP look like a discount beetle.
20 years? I knew a kid at my high school that had a black Supra with the enormous rear wing spoiler; I thought it looked like he was driving the Batmobile. Easily the coolest car of anyone I knew at the time.
This M2 is an overweight pig (heavier than Camaro SS 1LE !), and unfortunately M-engine is wasted in such a car because it is not any faster than the Supra with its run-of-the-mill engine.
Not much heavier then the SS. And the B58 is an amazing engine. I don’t think anyone thinks it’s not. How many motors with a Bosc tune and exhaust push over 500 WHP so easily? These are faster then a Camaro with a tune. But to each their own! SS 1LE is a cool muscle car

I wish the new 240 came with a manual with awd. Great comparison.
Yeah that'd be super cool!
Both are sweet rides! If the Supra had the twin turbos, wow!
Yeah they are both great! Would love a twin turbo Supra!
Great video . I have a 2022 Supra premium but I’ve been thinking about getting the new M2
Nice! The M2 is a great next step car from the Supra if you want more practicality and refinement.
A Supra îs faster then a Mustang GT tho.. Basic tune and it walks all over them and can take a turn
@@BrosFOURRSpeed The Supra is a better car!
Awesome review thanks for putting this together!
Glad you liked it! Was so pumped to get the M2!
I sat in both, the supra just felt very Toyota, the m2 was on a different level. I ordered mine, got it 2 weeks ago all black, such a beast of a machine. Everytime i drive it its makes me smile. It was a toss up between the two BUT! I did want the extra seats
The whole interior is bmw, how’d it feel like Toyota?
Both are great though! Thinking of getting an M2 at some point!
On the M2, the rear quater panel area reminds me a lot of a Scion Tc....the only part of the exterior I like is the rear, to each his own though.
lol I can see that a bit! But I do love this style!
Great review! How’s your clutch doing?
Still holding strong as expected ;)
Great comparison video. If i had to choose for my garage id choose the supra and and go with a M5 as my M car. Thanks for sharing!
That could be cool!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what would be cool is your supra after you have it for 6 months 😂 Then add an M car.
haha we'll see!
Bob
Yeah I can see that for sure. 240 is a great option if you want the Supra price tag with the M2 car in general. Nice to have AWD for that launch!
automatics SUCK
Really sad the M2 isn't offered with the thundernight metallic paint. Definitely rather have the Supra and wrap it with the color i want.
Yeah that'd be a cool color!
Been waiting for this video!
So glad to film this!
Well, the rev battle is not even a contest. The B58 in the Supra sounds a thousand times better.
Yeah under revs it does for sure! Driving the S58 is a bit more beefy. But could also just be the sounds played in the speakers
The M2 would look great in black or graphite or even dark silver ...and easier to live with. If multiple cars that would be much tougher cause I love the Supra's low slung swooping looks but I would miss the pronounced surge to redline typical of BMWs inline 6.
Yeh I love a lot of the colors for the M2. These engines are nice!
I wonder if the BMW M240i has the same exact clutch as the Supra?
If they make the m240i in standard..
Just wondering
The M240 only comes in an auto. So it's probably the same ZF 8 speed as the Supra. Be cool to check it out
@@BrosFOURRSpeed probably bolt right up!
put the s58 in the Supra, keep the current supra interior(none of the no button all screen BS in the G87) then youll have greatest modern BMW ever made, really hope they do.
I agree! Would be sweet to see that engine in this! I do like the simplicity of the Supra. Would be cool to get the M2 optional bucket seats in the Supra too
I kind of like that the Supra is single turbo though
I don't think there was any more lag in the S58 tho. Bit would be interesting what each engine could do with bigger turbos
What RPMs are they turning at highway speeds running in 6th gear?
Can't remember. But should be pretty similar mid to low 2ks
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Thank you. Heard it was in the 3K area.
I was on the highway today. 72 mph was a tad over 3k. But 60mph is around 2.5k
Thank you! Really appreciate addressing the transmission. I had a 2018 M3 and sold it because shifting the car was joyless. I kept my 2017 accord instead because it was a much more enjoyable manual.
oh wow lol. yeah I love how tight the Supra transmission feels. Big step up. But I can see the M2 being a good daily if you want a more relaxed manual
Would love a comparison between the m2 and the Nissan gtr how do they differ
I thought of that, but the GTR is an M4 competitor. M2 is way softer. M2 and Supra are on the Same level. GTR is a big step up. Here's my GTR vs M4 video! ruclips.net/video/BqUPMBQ_Gy4/видео.html
I’m trading in my a91 supra for an m2 I have in order arriving in June, due to the practicality.
My supra is fbo and a blast to drive, can’t wait to see what the m2 will be capable of with the mods
Sweet! M2 will be awesome! I'll definitely get an M2 after the Supra when I need the space. Amazing car!
I am curious of your situation, would the Supra/M2 be the only car or would you be running a second daily ?
Yeah cos practicality is just so sexy right
I will take the supra for a few reasons, but one I will point out is the lack of that ridiculous iDrive8 “android laid on its side & glued to dash” screen.
Is ct4 v blackwing right in the middle?
Well being a 4 door I wouldn't really put it in a comparison with these. CT4 is a fun car tho!
the s58 is a derivative of the b58 block with forged crankshafts and connecting rods for higher power demand both are reliable engines well more reliable engines for recent bmw motors 😎
Yeah it's a sweet motor! Just saw an M2 make over 700 WHP with downpipes and tuning on E50. Would love to see this in the Supra!
Stock for stock tho its a nice bump in power, but the weight pulls the M2 back a tad to be crazy faster then the Supra
Just to ask you own both of them? Really want to earn that good. Any tips?
I don’t own both. The M2 was a press car for the week. Hopefully this video can help with a bunch of tips! ruclips.net/video/m4FKKlAGdEk/видео.html
Just bought the M2. Will agree the gearbox is a little rubbery but still a lot of fun to shift. The power in the car is insane and the car def looks a lot better in person than in pics/vids.
Is M2 faster on straight line while Supra faster on circuit lap times coz of lighter weight?
Yeah the M2 is great! Wish Toyota did the trans lol. But I could see buying one after the Supra if I need back seats
They are similar on the track. But Supra is much more nimble
What’s the best sports car under 70k you recommend?
Around that price a manual ZL1 is tough to beat.
I’d say Supra, M2, SS 1LE would be my top picks. Used market you can get some cool cars too tho.
Yeah the new Emira would be sweet to check out!
Same 0-60, that’s how good the supra is. Plus m240i is the bmw to buy.
M240 is a good option for a more toned down car. But the AWD and similar engine makes it a good choice for some people
For a daily driver, but not for fun.
I'm getting the M2, once rates come down. I'll be damned if I worked my ass off to get excellent credit only have a much worse rate than what I have now
Yeah rates suck right now. I'm paying off like half the Supra in the first 3 months because of that. Crazy!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes that would be the way man. Last year, looking at the Supra that was my inspiration for getting great credit cause I wasn't about to pay over 1k a month for the car. Now it's the same deal. I see 9% to 11% rates on cars with excellent credit.
Same! I worked so hard to build mine and should have been able to get like 1.99. But these days suck! Hopefully things bounce back to normal
Supra is a much better looking car and lighter, but the S58 is just a better engine than the B58, the rods and Pistons can handle more power. I would still take the Supra though....
B58 can handle like 700 HP tho. These engines are amazing.
Wait for the 2JZ to enter the chat 🤣🤣🤣
B58 is better ;)
2JZ had it time but it's an old engine and just isnt as god as the modern B58 now
Thanks for a great comparison.
Yeah the M2 is pretty tame, however the Supra is super sleek and to me doesnt really stick out. Maybe the color could make a difference lol
Yeah when you get older you don’t want attention from everyone anymore…
Did you said bmw m2 has b58 engine? S58 in m2 and b58 in supra
Yeah but I put writing over the vid.
Great review; but the M2 won’t get a DCT auto trans, it’s still the ZF8 8 speed auto trans.
Yeah I was thinking of the previous generation
I would love to know where to get the M2 with the DCT...
You’d have to order one with it!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed There is No DCT in any current BMW 2,3 OR 4 series. They are all ZF automatic slush boxes. ;-). It's a good auto, but it's not a DCT.
Because You Own A 2020 White GR Supra Premium Back In September Of 2019 Back In The Day Also Its Been Almost 3.5 Years Ago.
The Supra is a fun car!
Probably already mentioned, but the BMW M2 G87 does not offer a DCT.
We didn’t mention that in this video. It’s still a good option to go with if you don’t want the manual.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed ruclips.net/video/lfriLa3ZijY/видео.html
You mentioned it @ 13:13
Yeah I was thinking of the old one. ZF is still great tho!
These or an SS 1le?
Personal preference. I'd buy the M2. But the SS1LE is cheaper and a great car!
Would love to see an automatic comparison
Yeah that'd be cool to see! I'm assuming the autos are much more similar in feeling and then both very similar in acceleration. Would be fun!
I mean for about 20k difference when you spec it nicely on the M2 (with the carbon pack), it won't be worth it IMHO.
So they want the fun factor all the time
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah the m2 is definitely my favorite to drive. Its the most fun for sure.

in my opinion the supra is way ahead just for its looks alone. i had a deposit on an m2 but after getting a yellow supra this ones a keeper. i haven’t filled up the tank once without someone coming over and asking me what it is. this car will be a legend in the future just watch. nothing like it on the road. the m2 is just bland in comparison however i’m sure the performance is a tad better. then again it weighs more so most probably negligible.
Oh cool! Yeah Supra turns heads and really is a special car. I do love the M2 but it's not as dramatic as the Supra. But it's more livable. So I can see one when I need the back seats. Mods will really wake it up tho!

Lol, probably not!
there is no DCT on m2 anymore
twin turbo does not mean more power
But it has more power stock..so I’m this case it does. What twin turbo car has less power then a smaller engine?
Can the M2 be modded to be more “pin pointy”?
I would assume lowering springs and a wider stance would help a ton! Still handled very well. But the lighter Supra will always be a bit better. But I’m sure a few upgrades would go a long way

Supra with an S58 would be the best BMW
Yeah that will be awesome! Be a crazy car!
Yeah I was thinking of the old M2. I've only been around the manual M2. ZF is still a solid choice for an auto tho! Best torque converter available!
It's in production now.
toyota with a s58 would be king and if you can get the weight down to 3k

Ok. Kidding aside, I'd pick the M2. It's a true M car compared to an M-lite car with a Toyota body. Is that Toyota/ BMW bone stock though?
Supra just had an intake. Doesnt ad any power, just the sound lol. But the Supra handles a lot better and the transmission is way more engaging. Both have a ton to offer
I hate all those Fake Supra Vents
A GR supra is a 2 seater M240i RWD with less weight, thats the only difference.
Yeah a 240 vs the Supra would be pretty cool. I'm sure thats way softer then the Supra tho since the Supra is already more hard core feeling then the M2. So 240 would be a soft version with better practicality
I agree that the Supra looks better
It’s definitely a good looking car!

A pretty good amount of difference between the S58 and B58
Oh of course! But when you drive them back to back, you only feel a bit more power stock for stock since the M2 weighs so much. M2 with bolt ons and tune can make like 700 WHP easy! Supra makes about 550 WHP bolt ons and tuning. So that extra turbo ads a lot! Maybe one day they'll do an S58 Supra
More technology. More issues. In mid is the best. Soo. Supra😊
how does the BMW have more tech?
BMW for life
They make some fun sportscars for sure!
Way more of difference between the b58 and S58 than just an extra turbo.
I'm sure from a technicality aspect. But all you can feel is the power difference. So thats all I can review. I'm not tearing the cars apart to show the specifics of each engine
If I need practicality over these, it's going be the M3....
That’s a good choice as well!
Hot Take: I think the G87 M2 is the real successor to the Mk4 Supra. Think about it:
- 2 door coupe with questionably useable rear seats
- Front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout with 6MT available
- twin-turbo I6 with massive tuning potential
- heavy for their respective time periods (Mk4 Supra weighed 1615kg, modest by today's standards, but a porker in the 90s)
- both even have a similar rear wing shape if you opt for that performance part for the M2
The most controversial part of this take is that I believe the M2, like the Mk4 Supra, will be one of those cars people only appreciate in 20+ years time.
Thanks for checking out the M2 vs Supra video!
No really, A92 Zupra with S58 would be..😂
Would be cool to have the S58 in a Supra!
They need to update the supra to the m2's interior/ dash.
Would be cool to see!
Can’t wait for the M2 to kick the Supra’s ass on a good track review!
It would probably depend on the track. Supra handles much better
