      @@robertmantell1700 regardless of contract, ED and RB could agree to take them off the store. While its not impossible that RB wants to keep them on the store, the likelihood is that ED the one wanting to keep them on the store. RB employees have stated multiple times that they are not happy about it. Right now, ED is selling someone elses IP, keeping the money and not warning the costumer that these modules are not being worked on. They tried a half-measure by moving the modules to the back of store, though they get pushed back to the top when users change the "sort by" order. RB has also gone three whole quarters without recieving sales figures of their modules and ED has removed SDK access entirely. I don't think we'll get a positive outcome to this situation.

      @aaronwhite1786 3 месяца назад +1

      I've been playing since Flanker 2.5, Lock-On and then DCS, and this is really a first. I guess technically something similar happened with VEAO and their Hawk trainer module, but I think that was more VEAO leaving flight sims altogether, which caused the team at ED to decide that any modules in their game going forward would be required to provide the source code, so if a company randomly vanished or stopped working, they could at least patch the modules to keep them working.
      ED has said they don't have the source code and I haven't seen any denial of that from Razbam, which seems to be the crux of the whole issue.

      @Dracomarine then stop hiring outside contractors, or make them give up their code ahead of time. I believe that was part of the problem, Razbam didn't want to share and then weaponzied the fan base.

    • @zahnatom
      @zahnatom 2 месяца назад

      @@dimitri1154 its best to not give ED any more money. the F-15E codebase problem is entirely dependent on when the contract was signed. this jet has been in development for quite a while so it is possible that they signed the contract before the requirement was put in place to share the code with ED.
      ED is currently just straight up stealing from razbam by selling their module without RB's consent and without paying them a dime. it's on ED to fix this. its not even the first time that ED just stopped paying a 3rd party dev, just that this time they had to come up with some arbitrary reason which wouldnt hold up in the court of law

    I really hope they resolve it. The F-15E is probably my favourite aircraft to fly in DCS. It feels like it was built for me. 12 bombs + 4 missiles with space left over for either 3 external fuel tanks or 3 more bombs. It carries so much fuel (even without drop tanks) that for most of my sorties I can be in full AB all the time. It’s so fast and powerful I can bravely run away from my enemies even while climbing. I don’t mind the bad TGP alot, I like striking strategic targets and bunkers so I mostly use 2000lb JDAMs with the A/G radar. I revisited the mirage yesterday after more than a year. Visuals are incredible, sounds on point, flight model good and pretty much done.
    Then I tried some combat and right after take off I had to change a bunch of keybinds cause they changed some, the radar could not pick a single plane and the 530s could not track 2 targets 7 miles off when I had to switch to the ACM modes.

      Razbam is proving exactly why ED requires the source code in the first place. It also strikes me as odd that ED would suddenly stop paying just on developer, who has been with the sim for a long time now, when they continue to pay everyone else and have no apparent cash shortfalls.

    If they are not fixing the issues which most players do know about, they'll definitely never want to fix flight model issues on their modules, including a less important but worth notably one on the F-15E, such as the ailerons and elevons deflections not generating drag, so the plane holds it's airspeed or acceleration regardless of aileron inputs. While the FC3 Su-27/33 have it over-exaggerated, this one doesn't simulate it at all. Not to mention the too high lift and excessive drag vs AoA functions, plus excessive/overpowered engine on the Mirage 2000 and very arcade flight model of the MIG-19, only the Harrier is almost flawless when it comes to flight models. And RAZBAM also dared to try making the MIG-23? They have no shame. The MIG-23 better not be done than being one like the MIG-19.

    Going back many years to when DCS was Lock-On Flaming Cliffs circa 2008, there was a relatively small audience for this type of thing. There were obviously avid simmers, but nowhere near as much as now. The level of engagement now is on an entirely different level with content creators, tutorials, reviews, e.t.c. Add to that the fact that there is an industry for immersive peripherals now such as joystick replicas and VR headsets.
    The prospect of a new module sets the internet ablaze for months.
    ED and third party module creators have stumbled upon a gold-mine. I think they know that the DCS-Module combo is a winning ticket.
    I could be wrong but I predict that all this will be resolved and ED and Razbam will come to an agreement. From my perspective, I decided to never buy a Razbam product again. It didn’t really matter to me who is right it wrong. What matters to me is that Razbam stopped supporting their customers in the hope social pressure would push ED in favour of Razbam. It hasn’t. If Razbam builds products for MSFS, I expect them to abandon support for those as well if they get in a dispute with Microsoft. To me that’s not reliable. Even if it’s ED’s fault, Razbam should not have screwed over its customers (us).
    At the same time, ED should have stopped sales of Razbam products. It’s immoral to sell products of which one knows they are not supported and could break any moment.
    From this perspective I think ED should even offer money back (rather than store credit).
    I’m now contemplating getting rid of all my Razbam products. The only thing stopping me is lack of visibility of interesting new products. It’ll be at least 5 years before seeing new products show up. In the mean time no one is doing a remake for some of the Razbam aircraft, because that would be an infringement. So until they come to an agreement (probably never), we’ll never see this aircraft again in DCS. Soo no more harrier, m2000, mig19 or f15, ever….

    Honestly ED and Razbam need to get it sorter out ASAP. It has taken way to long allready. They need to stop acting like little children and get their shit together. Also a more frequent update on the matter would be nice. As people have spend their hard earned cash and time on these modules. So they deserve that much

      We deserve it but legal proceedings can be complicated and time consuming.

    Why this clickbait video? Let them fix the situation and fly the modules. Would I buy another Razbam module anytime soon? Probably not, but I fly the ones I have.
    You don't add anything to the situation by doing this video. No news, no nothing. Not even educational. Just another vulture.

    There is an English saying to describe how silly this stance is. It's called 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'
    If you like and enjoy flying the Razbam modules in DCS, then you should just fly them, instead of indulging in some faux moral crusade. Leave the legal stuff to ED and Razbam.

    Your video is showing a great deal of ignorance. It's only the F15E that is affected in DCS. The other Razbam modules were considered feature complete by Razbam so no big issue. The South Atlantic map is unaffected as it wasn't a Razbam developed module. So, the Razbam/ ED dispute affects ONE module, why are you putting anything on the shelf? It's only you that is missing out for whatever reason !

      You're not looking at the full picture, just because its a finished product doesn't mean that it cant break, we seen this with the M2000C's Fly-by-wire system that got broken due to a ED patch.

      The Harrier is a finished product, the DCS platform is an evolving product... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that at some point, the harrier is going to break and no one will be there to fix it.
