  • Join Jeff Cote at the Vancouver Boat Show 2020 Seminar Series as he discusses the different options for heating your boat. He will look at the difference between airtronic and hydronic systems and provide installation tips and tricks. Also, why cleaning your diesel regularly is so important and why your heater must be unswitched but not bypass the shunt if you are using a battery monitor. Jeff also discusses the best way to remove airlocks to save time and frustration along with the relationship between heating systems and condensation.

Thanks Jeff. Currently drawing some system diagrams for heating medium flow round some boats. Greatly appreciated your tips on pre-purging the system with mains water. That's a neat trick.

Thank you jeff for the very helpful. information, it was a pity that i could not attend due to i still some outstanding questions regarding sonar. At present i am researching for my next vessel in the 50 feet catamaran class if a B&G system including 2 chart plotter per station (at helm, work station, only one 12inch in main bedroom) , radar and sonar. The issue I have is with the twin hulls regarding accurate sonar reading under both of the hulls at the same time. I suspect i will need 2 transducers and if so will this work with present B&G system .

The trick is to get two transducers with two different frequencies, like traditional 50/200 and a chirp one. Both transducers, with different frequencies, can operate simultaneously.

    Hi Jeff
Thank ever so much for all your great videos !
I’m leaving on my boat in the MED and planning to add an Air Heater for the winter.
I have an Amel super Maramu 2000,with PRE installed conduit, should I go for 5.5Kw or 8Kw in 24v ?
    Thank you
    Nick

Why couldn’t the exhaust be put at the highest point of the boat and then not have to worry about the fumes getting into the boat?

Lol I live in Ketchikan wonder which boat it was lol. And I have been thinking about a electrical install from you guys in the same manner. Bring the boat to Rupert and then have you guys do the top notch electrical system I know you guys do.
