@@JeffDietzphoto You know NOTHING !! Bought my Mazda CX 3 in 2021 in Thailand . Have done 40,000 Km and ave fuel consumption is at 16.3Km/Litre equals 45 Miles per gallon ( English Gallons !! )
@@garrington120 you say I know nothing... then go right on to say and confirm exactly what I just said... And i don't know what magical version you have but the stated MPG of a cx-3 (that aren't made anymore) is 25 city and 31 highway... the mazda 3 SEDAN, which is not a cx, can see a 40mpg. But that's like the 2015 version. The newest model gets 26 and 35 , your math is also not very good. 16.3km is 10.12 miles and 1 liter equals about 3.8 gallons so that equals about 38.5 miles per gallon, not 45... and again even that is no where close to the listed spec mpg for that car. Again maybe the sedan is closer, but that's a Mazda 3 not a cx 3

Most of those have continuously variable transmissions CVT that will break if one of teeth break usually at about 25Kmiles. pick a normal transmission if you dont believe, ask youtube about cvts.
You're right about most having CVTs and I'm not saying you're wrong about CVTs reliability entirely but CVTs have progressed and aren't nearly as problematic as they were early in their lives. Don't forget, there's been plenty of standard transmissions that have been a nightmare too.
The model year being sold at the time the article was published was 2022 MY but knowing how CR does things, they probably looked back multiple years in determining the reliability portion of their analysis.
Four door taxis are for the new generations that do not enjoy standard trans. cars. This are the true push buttoners that want life to be as easy going as possible. Low performance engines with paddle shift cvt transmissions.Who needs an SUV for $50,000 to $95,000. ?
And what about Mazda? This video sounded like an infomercial for Toyota products and, as far as the Forrester, my direct experience was the sudden death of that engine in the one of a close friend of mine at only 70,000 miles and the total disinterest of Subaru's customer service in that issue. That car was regularly serviced with oil changes and so on. No US made cars??? The CX5 didn't make that list, even the base model comes well appointed and at a much lower price than the one you listed. Just my thoughts.
You gotta wonder why there are ZERO electric cars on this list. A Kia Niro EV (for example) is 3x as energy efficient as a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. Additionally, electricity is FAR cheaper than gasoline nearly everywhere.
It is a tradition of the Consumer Reports to ignore U.S. - made vehicles. I am so happy with my 1.5t Chevy Equinox (2021 with 60K miles driven) that I am thinking about buying a new one. But I will consider Tucson and Corolla-Cross.
Prices have been somewhat fluid in the past year or so especially when components were not available and certain trim levels were temporarily not offered. The Forester 2021 is the most annoying car ever! I would never buy another one. The electronics and stop engine functions will make you go absolutely crazy.
The Tucson is garbage and puts into question the entire list. The absolute worst service in trying to get anything looked at. Things just randomly stop working in the electrical such as the apple car play connection, the remote start or even the keyless entry handles. They work when they want to
all these cars are womenish girlish cars, its really sad that land cruiser, nissan patrol, or chevy tahoe just dont come close when its about fuel consumption.
