It did not therefore feel like a preachy 45 minute lecture on what awful people the audience are. Modern Who has zero subtlety about it, zero room for interpretation (classic Who often presented right and left wing opinions not just one of them for example and more often it did not itself come down on one side or another, but left it to the viewer to decide if it was the right course of action or not) modern Who it is like being slowly beaten into servitude with the 'message mallet.' Modern Who is backwards, the 'message' is considered of more importance than entertaining its audience or providing compelling narratives. The irony of course being their 'message' would be better received and offend less people if it wasn't so blatant and domineering over all else in the show and if there actually were good engaging narratives and characters to convey it with. But no, we just get this brutal 'think this or you're wrong and bad' nasty mind set running our Who now in RTD. Quite possibly the most overrated writer in UK television. He cannot write an ending to save himself. And his previous saving grace, his ability to create instantly recognisable and well rounded characters is almost completely absent now, leaving very little else as his plotting is atrocious, especially in sci-fi (presumably why he has now decided its no longer a scifi show but a fantasy show, it's easier to write as you can do anything and not have to explain or justify it- see the entire last pointless series which ended in nothing at all, not adding up or making a lick of sense and leaving behind only the bitter aftertaste of an unfulfilled audience).
Unfortunately that means 6 million are haters as that the number who have switched off since jodies era started. That is probably an underestimate too as alot of those will be repeat veiws. Maybe they have legitimate reasons for switching off? You create for your audience. If the audience is switching off...maybe not blame the audience and examine what your making.
After thinking about Gugu and her rise into the Marvel-verse, I got curious as to how many other Who actors also appeared in one of the newer franchise's movies or TV shows. In doing some reseach (about two minutes, but still research :P) I refer you to this excellent article. I never knew the actor playing the painter in the first Captain America movie was in The Talons of Weng-Chiang.
Jenna Coleman was also in the first captain America for about a grand total of 20 seconds, when they go to the stark expo at the beginning she is one of the two women they go with
Who flopped on Disney plus and it flopped here in the UK, Gatwick is despised as the Doctor, so why on earth are the BBC wasting public funds on something the public does not want? Never mind a spin off.
It’s behind yet another paywall, and one for which I have little incentive to breach. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu. Pick one of those and we’ll talk. Or go back to good old PBS free broadcast.
Off topic, but im actually really excited for the Christmas special!! It seems much more like classic awesome doctor who🎉 also already love the iconic line of " ham and cheese toastie and a pumpkin latte"😂
I think if they're going to do a run about the Sea Devils. I want some content that mirrors or refers to their first appearance during the Third Doctor era. I wanna see footage of Pertwee's encounter with them. Heck, on top of that "Warriors of the Deep" took place in 2084. This series could leed up to the events of that serial, bridging the 100 year gap between those Storylines.
This announcement landed with a wet fart imo..There’s been zero buzz or any conversation about it. I think Chibnal and now RTD2 has done real damage to this show.

Chan Martha's mother also appeared as another character first tho.
What’s the spaceship below the falcon? I recognise all the rest but couldn’t get this one? Cardassian?
"the children of earth is the best" wrong! ianto died and i never looked at that show again
The Unit actors are strong, so a show with them can be a great thing.
Tell Ellie to watch Barbie
Who-Tuber ❤it! 😆
Jenna Coleman was also in the first captain America for about a grand total of 20 seconds, when they go to the stark expo at the beginning she is one of the two women they go with
Sean you are the BEST at Trek AND Who cultures, don’t ever doubt that...
We're NOT getting Alonso and Tish? 🥺 BOOO!
Renslayer variant?
Quite a lovely shirt you have there.
Have you heard any rumors of Russel T Davies being removed as showrunner from Dr Who?
Nope. There are no such rumours*.
I know Russel Tovey was in being human, sherlock, a couple episodes of the flash crossover.
He also had a starring role in Years & Years by Russel T Davies.
