  • Oh my goodness, Y'all!! This chocolate pound cake is seriously a show stopper! It's rich and fudgy with an absolutely heavenly chocolate glaze. It's an easy cake to make and put together in an afternoon, and would be amazing on any table. I am so exited to share this one with y'all today, as it is my mamaw's recipe, out of her handwritten cookbook, that I am so very honored to have. I hope that y'all love this as much as I love sharing with you today. Come on in the kitchen with me and we'll make this together.
    For the Cake:
3-sticks of butter, softened to room temperature
    3-c- granulated sugar
    4-large eggs, room temperature
    3-c- all-purpose flour
    1/2-tsp-baking powder
    1/2-tsp-salt
    1-tsp-espresso powder, optional
    1/2-c-cocoa powder
1-1/4-c- whole milk, at room temperature
    1-tsp-vanilla
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the bundt pan, by spreading it with softened butter and then dusting it with cocoa powder. This will help the cake not stick.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, with the paddle attachment, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, until well mixed.
    Mix milk and vanilla together.
Sift or whisk together, the flour, baking powder, salt, espresso powder, and cocoa powder. Add the flour mixture, to the butter mixture, a little at a time, alternating with the milk mixture, just until combined.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan 10-15 minutes. Turn out onto your serving platter and let cool completely before icing and serving.
    For the icing:
1-box (16oz)- powdered sugar or approximately 3-1/2 cups
    1/2-c-cocoa powder
    1/2-c-(1 stick) butter, melted
    1-tsp-vanilla extract
    2/3-c- whole milk
    1/2-tsp-espresso powder, optional
Whisk together the sugar, cocoa, and espresso powder. Add the melted butter, vanilla and milk and whisk until combined and smooth. Pour or spoon on top of your cooled cake. Serve and enjoy!!!

Can’t go wrong with anything chocolate. This is actually the first time I’ve heard of a chocolate pound cake but I can’t wait to try it.

First, thanks so much for watching!! If you’re talking about in the glaze, it’s 2/3-c of milk. The full recipe is in the description of the video for you. Enjoy and thanks again!!!😊
